Wishing the best for Ole, great player in his day. Any Norwegians on here who can give us some idea of how his team have been performing lately, what kind of football they tend to play etc?

Gap is too much, perhaps if we were 5th and we were needing one club to balls up, but not 2. That's unrealistic. We are currently 6th, and want to finish 4th. With more than half of the season to go. All this ‘season doesn’t matter’ talk is bollocks.
I’d fecking love this.Just play two up top Ole. Please.
Build him a statue and name a stand after him if he pulls that off.Well chelsea got their own CL with RDM. I can hope
Naive as it is - that is the way I see it as well.. genuinely just glad that cnut has gone. This season is a write off for me, just want to sit back and enjoy it.Expectations are probably key to how you view this news.
If you were looking for the club the make an appointment to turn the season around, get us into the top four and competing in CL then you'd definitely be worried by Solskjaer's lack of pedigree.
From my point of view though, I had assumed Mourinho would be here until nearer the summer and had thus accepted that we had zero chance of finishing in the top four or competing in the CL, so this season was already dead to me. As I see it Solskjaer can't have a worse than zero chance of finishing in the top four, so no loss there. But now I can actually look forward to the CL games next year without being certain we're going out in a dismal and depressing manner. As such I'm not particularly bothered if Solskjaer fails to save a season I had already written off. Even the false hope and nostalgia seeing him as manager brings is far more than I was expecting when I woke up this morning.
I say we just relax and try to enjoy the appointment for what it is. Ultimately it only matters if it works.
Van Gaal has all the credentials to be Man Utd manager.I obviously want Ole to do well, but if you step back a week and then consider his credentials from there, you are likely to get a clearer view on what you think his merits are.
If our mood has lifted that easily just imagine how the players feel.Naive as it is - that is the way I see it as well.. genuinely just glad that cnut has gone. This season is a write off for me, just want to sit back and enjoy it.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves hereWell chelsea got their own CL with RDM. I can hope
I think in the main you're right; and I have a feeling the lack of pressure to attain top four may see him thriving.Expectations are probably key to how you view this news.

Only manager Pogba's ever had problems is José. The same José countless players have fallen out with despite, like Pogba, not falling out with other managers.Looking forward to seeing pogbatelli trying to pull his shit on a club legend all time fans favourite.
Good luck ole, hope its another chapter of amazing service to the club. An utter pro that our players could learn from. Ole to lead us to cl 20 years on

In which case the possibilities are literally endless for who can become a United manager, when you take away the requirement to actually be a proven top manager.Van Gaal has all the credentials to be Man Utd manager.
Mourinho has all the credentials to be a Man Utd manager.
Both failed.
Maybe “credentials” to be a Man Utd manager isn’t the be all and end all.

Please no - management by committee?. The club - and these guys, don't deserve this. From what I've read from Dominic King, Mike Keegan, Ian Ladyman etc is that it'll be more of a joint job Ole will share with Phelan, Carrick, McKenna and possibily Butt.
Gonzo almost keeled overThompson's face!
Except he finished just behind us by about 1 point in the league and was a penalty kick away from winning the CL. Terrible appointment my foot !Yeah, Grant was a terrible appointment. Give me Ole anyway.

The future DOF I'm hopingWho will now decide what players need extension? Ole? Ed?
Im from Norway and support the biggest rival of Molde. Comparing United and Molde is like a comparison from formel 1 to your average car. I dont think its about what he has done at Cardiff either but more being able to get the players become a unit again. Mid season and the role as caretaker you cant do an all over change and probably no new players either. Advantage is that Pogba, Rashford and other players know him and hes respected. Hope it goes well and the team at least tries their best for the remaining season.Wishing the best for Ole, great player in his day. Any Norwegians on here who can give us some idea of how his team have been performing lately, what kind of football they tend to play etc?
It's not going to be great, but there's no pressure to actually achieve anything, beyond perking up the fans/sponsors/press coverage a bit before the summer. Please no - management by committee?. The club - and these guys, don't deserve this.
It can't be any worse than the past 3 months! Let's just get behind him and try to enjoy some football for a change. We're nowhere near as bad as Jose has led us to believe, that's for sure.Yes I'm trying to be positive as well! I just adore him though and want him to do a good job. He knows it's his one great opportunity to lead United (even for only 6 months), so I hope he has no regrets at the end and does himself proud.
