The inches really matter. You misplace a pass or miss time a tackle and the shit hits the fan.

Matic and Herrera have been our best players. Martial has been alright.

PSG better but not by too much.

Not a very high quality game so far, more action to be expected in second half.

We are just tense and afraid of making a mistake. Just human nature.
Hopefully Ole can do or say something to calm the nerves.

I think it's a good sign that people are unhappy with 0-0 against PSG at half-time in a match where we have to 90% kept Mbappe at bay. Shows how far we have come in 2 months
Or that some people are deluded thinking we will finish the tie in the first leg

Special shout out to Draxler for being a massive cnut and trying to get Matic booked for a nothing tackle so he'll miss the second leg.

Not at all, even under Mourinho this wouldn't be a surprise... We really need to be winning this game

Damn cagey Game. The ref has contributed to it as well.

Our press is strange as the back line doesn't push up but the midfield and attack does.

That leaves a gap in between.

Our attack has been strange as well and slow.

This PSG outfit is sheer quality despite their injuries. They have, for the most part, dictated the pace of the game and looked dangerous on the few occasions they countered.

The ref has made it almost certain we're going to see a red card. Pray it's not of ours.

I agree with a lot of posts here and PSG had the better chances. But I do feel if we score the first they will crumble.

    Good half.
Not vintge United or anything of that sort, but we did well defensively.
We have to take into account the inexperience lf this United team, barely anyone who has won many trophies, PSG on the other hand are a well experienced team in the CL KO.
To win this competition you have to play the KO of the CL, year in year out before you’re ready to win it.
This is not a competition that is won out of nowhere.

Also, you can still see we’re lacking quality in certain position, and young players who aren’t quite there yet.

I reall hope Alexis could make something happen, even if we don’t win today we can still beat them in Paris.

    Cmon!

Thought we shit it a bit.

If martial is done, I'll take a 1-0 very happily, but highly doubt our capability.

Hope Martial's hamstring issue was nothing and he can come out fresh in the second half. Mbappe should have put us away with his chance. I think we're showing PSG a bit too much respect and are trying to operate a counter on them. They're too well structured in defence though. Alves is doubling up on Martial really well on the left. Hope Sanchez makes a difference.

We need to be more accurate in our attacking, the players look a tad nervous.
We will always show respect to opposition as this midfield gets overrun and beaten for pace with ease if they play high. Two of them Pogba and Matic doesn't really help win the ball in high areas with their slowness without the ball.

PSG have come here depleted though. Nobody can surely deny that we could be doing more damage.

Very tactical and cagy first half. PSG had no chances - and the defense has done well.

Defensively the team has done well. Tuchel has man marked Pogba out of the game. Interesting second half to come up.

Will be interesting to see if Ole can find a tactical change which frees up Pogba from the clutches of Marquinos.

Nervous half. We haven’t been Terrible - we’ve been pretty solid at the back with Victor and Bailly keeping Mbappe largely quiet. Shaw has been our best attacking outlet so far.

Martial doesn’t fancy it tonight. Even before the injury scare he just doesn’t seem bothered, very strange. We will miss Lingard’s running and movement as I think despite his lacklustre passing he has been involved in most of the good things we’ve done offensively and defensively with the high press.

Most of all though this is the time for Sanchez to step up.

We're still in this - the ref has succeeded in making both teams scared to play now. I can see him sending one or 2 off in the second half. All this means is we'll have a scrappy game.

I have real hope we can nick a quick goal here if Ole and Mike can tweak things at half time. Tbh this reminds me of a typical SAF early European performance - we've certainly not disgraced ourselves. Compared to what we thought would happen with the miserable one at the helm, this surely has to be positive.

I like it so far. Very competitive match. My only complains is Young is rubbish and both Martial and Lingard need to get involved more, but otherwise our high pressing on their defense is great to watch.
Agreed. Can’t believe how negative so many in this thread are being. I think we have had a decent first half. Matic and Lingard have done particularly well. Martial and Pogba need to get on the ball more and we will look even more damgerous. Really hope Sanchez can step up.

Pretty much as expected so far. Very tight game with barely any real chances. The ones who predicted 4-0 and similar are living in alternate universe.
Yep. I didn’t expect PSG to be like one of the weaker PL sides we’ve played. Even though they’ve not been great they’ve still clearly got quality.

Ref has been shit from the 2nd minute though.

We’ve been very sloppy in the final 3rd.

At the same time, it has been stop-start-stop-start-stop-start-stop-start. Ref has hardly allowed the game to flow.

Need change in attack for second half. Psg is shit in away gMes in Europe but at home they are fecking good. Need a win here. Any win
Yeah that's what I'm worried about. We need to take something away from this game to stand a chance.

Very cagey game so far. We look far better on the counter than we are in a possession style game so nothing each won't be that bad. Can't afford to give them a goal though.
