They said on my commentary that the rule is now interpreted that anytime the player makes their body bigger and handballs it’s a pen, so it was.

The arm was slightly extended, thus helping the player from preventing the ball to be on target, which would’ve been the case if he hadn’t extended his arm. Given that it was also his lower arm that was hit, I’d say it’s a penalty.

I think it is handball rule that needs clear clarification rather than anything else.

A player isn’t entitled to stop the ball unlawfully and the only way he was stopping that was turning himself and flinging his arm up.
The referee has no responsibility to allow a play to chuck himself in front of the ball regardless.
It wasn’t straight at his arm and only hit him as he tried to make himself big and jump into the block.
Plus the shitebag turned away from it so he deserves all he gets.

I liked the fact it was the same guy that was the turning point in the first leg. Should have been suspended and not on the pitch.
