Ole was the one taking the plaudits during the winning streak. It’s only fair that he takes the criticism during this period of utterly shit performances.
Can’t argue with it, but I would add that we started positively and should have been 1-0 up but Young saw to that!

Ole should take the heat for picking him

I feel a bit bad for Young. He's shit but we shouldn't be relying on him as much as we are - that's a club issue.
I feel the same. It's not his fault that we don't have a viable alternative to push him onto the bench.

I know it's Messi, but Fred got beat so cheaply for that first goal. Obviously Young needs to do a better clearance, but yeah.

If we were in good form, we might have done better but our form isn't great. Goals aren't flowing and our play has peaked . Players are being found out but quarters is respectable considering how bad we've been at times. As poor as they may have been, we are playing catch up because of our transfer strategy and while other teams around us strengthen we have been complacent to the point we need to be sold because the market is broken. Let's keep the score respectable

Remember. Jose wanted to sell him and buy William and loads of supporters went mad.
    Who is mad now.
As id=f Willian would be any better. They're both playing shite. At least suggest someone else other than an over the hill player.

Rashford cross bar - goal instead = 1-0
McTominay better touch - possible goal = 2-0
Barcelona sh1t themselves as a result
Sit back and counter - another away goal maybe, they score as well = 3-1 on the night and we go wild

Everything though went against us. Including Ole persisting with Ashley Young. Not saying someone else wouldn't have made a stupid error in the 90, but there is massive precedent with Ashley and his wastefulness and woefulness. Captain or not, I'm sorry. There comes a time.
That time was about 4 years ago

That early chance for Rashford , if that was RVN or RVP that goes in. As soon as Rashford got it you knew he’d feck up.
Same with the shot he tried after running away with the ball.
Barca defenders seemed pretty cool that he would try an impossible angle which can easily be stopped by Ter Stegen

How many times have all of us seen a highlight where Messi cuts left at the top of the box and curls one in at the far post? How many times over the years? Robben made a career out of the same thing...how defenders are still falling for this is beyond me.

You would think Dalot is a prime Dennis Irwin the way he's being talked about. Young made a mistake, Dalot's looked suspect defensively all season. Playing him would have made next to no difference to us.
I'd take Denis Irwin now over young

We're losing this tie entirely due to our own defensive incompetence. It's so, so disappointing.

Messi aside, this Barca team are nothing special.

Liverpool will absolutely slaughter them in the next round.
I worry Liverpool will beat them too.

Would love to know who does the ratings at M.E.N. He is bitter and twisted, just like us.

Never could understand why Daley wasnt kept, the only pkayer with passion, heart and a brain.
Because Mourinho didn't value those qualities

If only Rashford put his chance away.. That was his Welbeck moment.
To be fair, he was unlucky there. It wasn't a terrible finish and if it had gone a couple inches lower, Ter Stegen would have been beaten..

It's in-form Barca with in-form Messi. Don't be so harsh on your players, they do that to other teams.

While that’s true, messi has made better players than Fred look a mug. It’s more on young dithering and the defence not pushing out to block the shot imo.

    Take off lingard for sanchez
I've no problem with this! Let's see what he's made of, even if he is at 60% or whatever...(otherwise known as throw him to the lions for his demise in front of the world.)

....but, but no one will buy him then....

ok keep him warm on the bench

How many of them spend £100+ million every season?
So we are a club capable of reaching the quarters and spend millions. Wish I supported Accrington now.

    Travesty.

There’s the problem though, we don’t take the chances. Rashford is not a natural finisher, I don’t care what anyone says.
Agree but at least he offers something . Our other 3 attacking players have done so little

What about goals conceded because of De Gea? Or is he at fault for picking him as well?
No one's blaming him for the second. By that point the game was practically over already. But the first goal after playing so well is all down on Ole for picking Young. Entirely predictable he would feck it for us.
