My word I feel pathetic doing it, on reflection. This has always been around I guess but it seems to mean more than ever, how the mighty have fallen.

It's hilarious. I'd never wish injury upon anyone, but hoping for meltdowns & drama? Yes please.

I know all about the bitter rivalry you lot have with City but come on, have you no compassion?

I feel a bit sorry for any losing sides, however otherwise you might dislike them.

For the love of God, can you not find a shred of decent human sympathy?

50 percent of my love of football is wishing failure on Liverpool from the very beginning I got into football. As a 10 year old.

Agree. I wish Liverpool, City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs all the best.

Why? Nothing wrong with that. I always want other clubs to fail but maybe I'm petty that way.

Leave me alone. I’ve had to be unable to wish defeat on City in the league for months, and now I have finally had an opportunity to wish defeat on City without consequence.

It's weird but when your own club struggle its what you do. I have no ill will towards United whatsoever but when we were shit (much shitter than you have ever been), one of the few things in football that brightened up my day was a United loss. Just like for lack of a better explanation "its nice to see them experience what we are experiencing."

You have to take enjoyment from somewhere.

Agreed, totally unacceptable and disgusting behavior, people doing it should be banned on this platform.

Nothing wrong with being happy to see your local and competitive rivals fare badly. It's only when praying for them to fail starts to become the centre of the footballing world that you've become too sad and bitter.

Refuse to buy into this ridiculous attitude that you should care about United's results and nothing else.

I've watched our rivals play rooting for other teams even during our best years. Nothing wrong with it. In fact, I'd argue there's something off if you watch a rival play and are ''neutral". That said, I've never trade United losing to see a rival lose.

Glee at a rival team's misfortune is the sort of petty, stupid behavior that is genuinely an important part of football.

You've got to be a twisted individual to want your rivals to succeed. It's like those freaks that want Liverpool to win the CL because they are English. Vermin they are.

There is nothing wrong with wishing rival clubs do poorly. What is so annoying is the hot takes after every result. The talks of "bottling" and "frauds".

Wierd thing about tonight is in a weeks time many on here will either secretly or openly hoping Man. City beat their team in a derby and suddenly Man. City will be back to being best thing since sliced bread.

I could understand it more if this was Man. City's last chance to win a trophy and so they end up trophyless. They still have a very good chance of winning the domestic treble which isn't too bad an achievement in my book.

Schadenfreude is a glorious thing, I don’t wish injury on an opponent of matter (typically Citeh or Pool) but I sure as shit enjoy seeing those two suffer a defeat like today (or any other defeat).

When we won the treble in 99, I was wishing failure on other clubs as well. Its no different. I recall having a drink after Leeds got relegated in 2004.

Evil lurks within the darkest recesses of even the purest of human souls.

Also, it's mainly Liverpool, City & Arsenal isn't it? Which is fair enough.
