U23s - Manchester United vs Wolverhampton

How we looking?

How's that not a pen

The refereeing is all round shocking here.

Chong and Gomes finally starting to look like the talents they are in the last couple of games. Chong been brilliant so far.

I am more and more open to giving all 4 (including Greenwood and Garner) a proper chance to establish themselves. They all have something the first-team is missing

that goal is sensational even by Greenwoods standards

Ridiculous first time finish.

Gomes at the fore as well. He's really stepping up at the moment.

That was so smart that the goalie didn't even move. Get him into the first-team....he is miles better than Rashford and Lukaku

I had hoped Greenwood would be on the bench against Chelsea, guess that wont happen now since he is playing today.
Dont know what we are waiting for,he seems more than ready and our 1st team attackers are all trash right now.

If we do not get the right result on Sunday, then there is no reason not to try him in the last two games.

Gomes - Been great. Assured in possession with great touches to win himself fouls too.
Greenwood - Involved and great while in possession. Great finish to give the side the lead.
Garner - Assured in possession and the bite of the midfield.
Levitt - Been impressed. Not taking many touches as he is skillfully 1 touch passing to his teammates. Has started a few attacks.
Chong - Gives the side some needed impetus. Needs to be more precise with his 1st touch. He likes the 1st touch to put himself on the front foot to attack, but sometimes his touch his heavy precisely because he wants to do it in a more effective manner.

Almost flawless performance. Only criticism I could give is Chong's 1st touch, but it's only a very minor criticism.

Actually was upset in the first 15 minutes because Wolves just look better coached than United. The way they bring the ball out from the back and stick to that plan is great. They do a great job of forming a block too. They must be instructed from the top to follow this plan to make the transition to the first team easier. It's clear that we rely more on individual brilliance. Clearly our defenders are encouraged to bring it out from the back, but they're not instructed to stick to that plan no matter what like Wolves are. This leads to more hoofing and more effort from our midfield to help out the defense bring the ball out.

Chong and Greenwood been class, sexy finish by mason the lad oozes class and his decision making is so good very unrated asset of his sky's the limit with him that's for sure

Edit: Chong just won a penalty, Gomez scores 2-0

Chong's direct running is killing them. Gomes is playing some stunning football. 2-0

I keep hearing about his size and how it will affect him at PL level but surely the opposition aren’t small at U23 level?

He seems to be able to cope

He is absolutely tiny and probably needs to get a bit stronger.

But I don't think it's insurmountable. In this type of form he could play anywhere.

In fairness - there are a few City-players who certainly aren't that strong, but still seem to do ok :)

Olosunde is useless.

Seems the reserves have as much bottle as the firsts right now unfortunately
