Or "You're going home by St John's Ambilance"
I remember being in the Stretford end on Boxing Day in the late 80s and they sent a Father Christmas out to wave at the fans. ‘Father Christmas, you’re a w@nker, you’re a w@nker’ on repeat.

Still makes me laugh.

Bertie Mee, said to Matt Busby...

I also like Roy Keanes magic hat song

For me it’s gotta be the Tony Martial came from France. English press said he had no chance. 50 million down the drain. You know the rest.

The Martial one, it's the only one that sounds alright.

On the other hand the best in England is the "oh feck off jamie vardy.." one, class.

It's still build a bonfire because both of my kids have been raised in the south (Florida USA) but when we all go to the pub and there's a united match on the break into build a bonfire with passion:lol:
They're both old enough to sing the full lyrics now but years ago they'd sing it and it would be and we'll burn the.... Lot:lol:

Not a chant as such but against St Ettienne the the other year in the Europa League campaign, when Zlatan score his hat trick, the Etteinne physio kept coming on the pitch every 5 minutes it seemed and he was wearing chinos,
Cue absolute delight from the stretty end and cries of 'Chinos chinos chinos' every time he came on, bloody hilarious but I suppose you had to be there

I like the Bertie Mee one, used to love the plain old Keano when sung with passion after he'd just destroyed someone.

Used to love 'Always look on the bright side of life' in the early 90s. Leeds away in the league cup. Happy days.

Wow. I refuse to sing this. Nothing like Scholes in the way he played, the quality of player or level of importance to the team and club over the years.

One was an absolute legend and one of the best players ever to play for us. The other being compared was decent. Did a decent job.

Might be because Scholes is my favourite ever player but I find it extremely disrespectful.

Fits in to the tune well though.
The season that song emerged Carrick carried the midfield, playing the deep passing role of Scholes' latter years. It was an acknowledgment from the match going fans that his huge contribution was noticed, not a comment on scholes.

Scholes rated Carrick very highly, naming him a sub in his all time United team.

Carrick was a major player in the club's most successful period, it's crazy how you down play his impact.

Major players :-

VDS Evra Rio Vidic Scholes Ronaldo Rooney. Carrick massively overrated. He had one good season. He never carried us and once the major players had gone he carried us to the sum total of nothing.

As for him getting in Scholes united subs....we had the same midfield for about ten years. He's nowhere near the argument for those ahead of him.

Disgrace to compare him with Scholes. He wishes. Decent at best.

The last title winning season it was carrick and rvp who carried the team throughout that season.

From the 5 titles in 7 years - 3 ucl finals. Carrick was the main constant figure in United's midfield.

The players that played with him rate him very highly - that's the accurate test of his ability.

Not precisely a chant but...

I was born to, be United,
Daddy told me when I was just a baby,
When I was Five, I went down the warwick Road,
Now I'm addicted, the only place I go

Take me Home, United Road,
To the place, I belong,
To Old Trafford, to see United,
Take me Home, United Road.

All my memories,
Of Bobby Charlton, Georgie Best and Cantona,
That came to us from Heaven,
And in the Nou Camp in 1999,
On matt busbys birthday
Oh it was party time

Take me Home, United Road,
To the place, I belong,
To Old Trafford, to see United,
Take me Home, United Road,

I watch the reds, I feel the noise,
The crowd is roaring,
The Stretford end we singing and the fans are going wild
And when I'm gone, I get the feeling I should have been home
yesterday, yesterday

Take me Home, United Road,
To the place, I belong,
To Old Trafford, to see United,
Take me Home, United Road,
Take me Home, United Road,
To the place, I belong,
To Old Trafford, to see United,
Take me Home, United Road,
Take me Home, United Road,
Take me Home, United Road.

That's the season I referred to.

Midfield was the weak point of that team, it was the rest of that team...Gk, back four and attack that made that team great.

I think he was a decent player who had one great season and some pretty poor ones. He wasn't the one constant figure, he was often a sub particularly at the start of a season. There were seasons where he was mediocre to the point the fans were on his back on a match day, and match going fans are very patient and supportive.

I doubt any players rate him remotely closely to Scholes or Keane, and that's the comparison being made in the song....that you'd never believe he's not Scholes.

Do you think he was as good as, or remotely close to Scholes ?

:lol::lol::lol: Carrick bullying someone....that I'd have liked to have seen.

It was seeing him get bullied and go into his shell on a regular basis that did my head in.

I’ve made up a Wan Bissaka chant if we land him, sang like the macerena (inc the dance)

All of your players gonna fear Wan Bissaka

When he’s on the ball you can’t get near Wan Bissaka

He tackles like Maldini and he passes just like Kaka

Ayyyyyy Wan Bissaka!

Wouldn't say anybody bullied him but for a while certain teams tried to get to him early to nullify his effectiveness and it worked, but he soon worked it out without SAF having to resort to putting a bruiser in there to protect him.

Anyhoo, back to the what is your favourite song or chant thread, it was around here somewhere ....

Are you hoping for the accompanying dance routine as well?

I think most of our songs are dreadful to be honest. The best songs are the really easy ones that aren't too Wordy because everybody can smash them out.

You are my Solskjaer
20 time, 20 time Man Utd
It's Carrick Yanooooooo

Need more loud easy ones you can just shout. It's one of the reasons the atmosphere is so good in Germany etc, Lots of proper chants just big loud grunts and shouting.

To the tune of: "We're off to Dublin in the green in the green"

We are the great supporters
Man utd is our team
And as you all know into Europe we'll go
In the colours of the team supreme

So we're off to Europe in the red in the red
Denis Law will dazzle in the sun
Where the goals are scored
The crowd all roar
Especially the Stretford End

So all you city fans remember this
We are the greatest side
When Law goes up to receive that cup
Be sure to hear us cry
We are the champions!
Champions of Europe!
