Thought he was our best outfield player in his first season. Dreadful for a lot of last season, like most of our players. Unlike most, he's at least shown he can do it outside of our system - with Belgium and Everton. If he was not in Ole's plans, we had to sell and seemed to have got a good price. However, now we've lost Lukaku and Herrera and replaced neither.

Hopefully, we can use this cash this window to upgrade midfield, RW or ST.

He scored 27 goals the season before. What's Martial's best 'in all comps' total?
comparing different positions. One is a striker that had everything fed into him and one mainly got shunted out on the left and was in and out. But let's re-compare at end of this season if Martial gets a good run up top like i think he will.

Hasn't Martial been more effective in terms of goal scoring when being played on the left?

A good player but wasn't what Ole needed
I think buying him was a good decision. 24, hungry striker who was banging in goals and premier league proven. He had the potential to take that next big step and was talked of as a mega talent when he was young.
The bolded part was the problem - he was good for Manchester’s Kebab economy, unfortunately couldn’t hit a bard door against any decent sides.

1 goal in 23 games against the top 6, that’s his legacy! Joke of a striker.

crazy as it may be, with a 4-2-3-1 not really that worried about his loss. Worst case we rotate martial/rashford up top, and i am extremely happy with the idea of greenwood getting legitimate time. He looks ready. Plus can always throw sanchez up there for a game and see what happens. Think with some added focus on the wide play we might be able to accomplish more without Lukaku slowing things up as is. Now we just need to send mata and matic out to pasture as well.
Nah. Need some experience. Cannot pin season on youngsters who have never done it before. Most of these guys hardly even played in the CL. I would take Mandzukic and reinvest the money on a CM or AMC

Will be glad to see the back of him, however not at this extremely late point. Would be like shooting ourselves at both feet when our usual injury crisis occurs and we end up with Lingard up front.

Fellaini and Lukaku gone within 6 months..
Some of you must be over the moon.

I wish we could have had the Lukaku we see when he plays for the Belgium NT instead of the Lukaku we saw most weeks.

Does he have a secret twin brother ??

So I won't cry about Lukaku, but would have liked to see The Big Fella stay around....

agree to disagree. Besides, plenty of our players have champions league experience since we never get rid of our deadwood haha. I am more worried about talent and getting quicker/faster attacking play than experience in a tournament we wont even be in this year.

I thought he was a good player in all honesty. Don’t think we used him particularly well during his time here but it became apparent he was a square peg in a round hole. Acted like a proper tosser over the last couple of weeks so good riddance.

Not massively arsed about him leaving but I do think we need a replacement, an all out goal grabber would be nice.

You won't find them on here.

I think and hope that he'll do well at Inter. And we'll be fine without him. So all's well.

Yeah ultimately i have nothing against him. I don't like how it has ended between club and player, but i'm not frothing at the mouth over his antics either. I find it disappointing and bizarre more than anything. I'm glad he's gone just because his position at the club became untenable, and i didn't want to go into a season with him hanging around. But that's sorted now.

We'll be better without him in my opinion.

This is bad news. Who will now raise a thumb as they slowly jog back to the halfway line or do that little silent hand clap, standing like an Easter Island Statue as another intended cross enters orbit.
Someone needs to make a video compilation of his many quirks.

That’s our second highest scorer from a shite season gone. He was one behind Pogba, but Pogba had a lot of penalties.

We’re clearly too late for a replacement, so where exactly are we going to find 15 goals to replace his plus a load more to improve our league standing?

Rashford won’t get 20 I’m betting. Martial won’t get 15. That’s a lot of pressure on Mason Greenwood.

Anybody watching the transfer show? Ex Leeds and City Football genius Danny mills is absolutely hammering United over Lukaku. Absolute asshat.

Pointing towards his feet while being less mobile than a traffic cone, miss timed jumps, going towards the ball instead of being inside the box, being out muscled by smaller CBs etc..

If Rashford has been chosen by Solskjaer as his main striker then what's the point of spending big money on another striker?

By all means, get a cheaper bench warmer but spend the big money on a young right sided attacker, that is a better fit for Solskjaers mobile front 3 vision.

We'll make up the 15 and more from not having our attacks break down every time he touches the ball.

Everyone that’s freaking out about his number (limited) of goals to replace: how many more do you think he’s been holding our whole team back from?

How many attacks have ended before they began because of his first touch/fake aerial attempt/garbage dribbling?

How many minutes has he taken away from Martial in #9 when Martial has been rated the most efficient striker in the PL?

How many attacks has he made redundant because of his garbage in box movement? He does the job of a cinder block in the box. You whip a cross good enough it’ll bounce off a cinder block and go in.

Out of all his goals how many do you consider completely done solely by his own effort?

His numbers are deceiving. His numbers are bottlenecking. This team has been more than held back by him.

His goals will be replaced + more

He played as the main CF/ST for us. If that is not his best position I don't know what is. Problem was he wasn't good at holding up the ball or was clinical. He is only good enough when there is space to run which he will never get at top clubs as most teams would sit back.

Not a player I’ll miss. Even if he did score goals, that didn’t make up for how much he drags the team down overall in style.

If the team does well a whole this season, his goals will be replaced. If the team doesn’t do well as a whole, Lukaku would not be the solution anyway.

He is all talk and no cojones or skill, just another long line of average players who think they are way too good.

So if we don’t get anyone in, then it’s another lie by OGS regarding “anyone sold will have bought replacement” or something to that effect?

I’m not anti OGS by any means at the moment but he isn’t really winning me with all these sound bites that turn out to be lies. Is he hoping the academy bails him out Co92 style?

We all love United
Is he in Milan yet? He better be there soon and sign the thing so we can get our money after that and who knows, we may re-invest that into someone else

Does make you wonder why we’d seem to be rushing to sell Lukaku before deadline day when Inter still have plenty of time till their window closes. Maybe just maybe someone is going to be brought in or we just wanted him out the door so we can focus on our start without that sideshow going on.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"

I wonder if that's the first time they've been referenced on the Caf?

There should be more stone monument/player analogies here.

I think having the owners we have, it's the latter.

Glad he’s gone. Best we looked last year on the eye was without him in the team, Cardiff away 5-0 Martial and Rashford floating around up top.
