Or to Man City. You want ‘guaranteed CL football’ go to Spain, or Juve.
Bayern are also pretty safe bets. PSG will be there every season.

Man City can’t ‘guarantee’ anything either. They are obviously likely, but could easily finish 5th in a season or two in this PL.Or to Man City.

Just a pity we did not fill all the gaps then...That’s all good in retrospect. In reality, we’ve attracted pretty much everyone we’ve gone after in this period you speak of.
Again, in retrospect. We could sign Sancho and want a RW if he doesn’t succeed. We signed the ‘Bundesliga POTY’ for example who was supposed to create chances like KDB, yet we needed a RW later, for just one example.Just a pity we did not fill all the gaps then...

Here's one of those posts where almost everything is wrong. It's like a template for absolute calamity.100 million tho? I just think we are moving away from that transfer model. I’d rather pick up a young left-back. midfielder Longstaff and another for £80 million. Sancho is unproven in the PL.
This was obviously us, as the Sancho to United rumours started early and died pretty quickly. Also confirms that there was no chance Dortmund were going to sell. Not that some FM players on here won't start with the "this was our chance" shite again "because Dortmund are a selling club"https://www.skysports.com/football/...ned-down-approach-from-super-club-for-forwardTweet

And I don't debate that. It doesn't mean they're willing to sell any player at any time though, which is what some on here seem to think.
Dortmund is a selling club though.

This is why I back our scouts, it's all about the attention to detail. My mate is a scout at United and he says that the club aren't interested in Sancho, they scouted him extensively but decided against making a move because there were concerns for his love of pineapple on pizza.
Unless Bayern come asking. And I don't debate that. It doesn't mean they're willing to sell any player at any time though, which is what some on here seem to think.
Uncalled for yet pretty funny to be honest. Could've replaced the Dortmund with a ManUnited tag.Dortmund's English Twitter account was asking people to tweet them their name and favourite number to show off what it would look like on their new kit. A Man United fan asked for "Sancho to Man Utd 7". Dortmund came back with this salty reply...

In the last 15 years Dortmund have willingly sold precisely one player to BayernUnless Bayern come asking.
The academical term for this heinous act is banter and I'd make the bold bet that this wasn't an official statement, but rather the social media intern trying to be funny.Dortmund's English Twitter account was asking people to tweet them their name and favourite number to show off what it would look like on their new kit. Willing or not you’ll sell to Bayern if they come knocking. In the last 15 years Dortmund have willingly sold precisely one player to Bayern
What the hell are you on about? There is literally no precedent for this.Willing or not you’ll sell to Bayern if they come knocking.
Go on then, enlighten us.Willing or not you’ll sell to Bayern if they come knocking.
I imagine he's referring to Dortmund selling Lewandowski, Goetze and Hummels to Bayern. You say one was willing, so two were unwilling? What the hell are you on about? There is literally no precedent for this.
Lewandowski was in his last year and was making a fuss, Götze had his release clause triggered by Bayern. I don't remember exactly the case with Hummels but they got a lot of money for him and I think he wasn't going to renew either.I imagine he's referring to Dortmund selling Lewandowski, Goetze and Hummels to Bayern. You say one was willing, so two were unwilling?
Hummels and Goetze were both sold to Bayern. In the last 15 years Dortmund have willingly sold precisely one player to Bayern
Lewandowski's contract ran out, Dortmund didn't sell him to Bayern, he left on a free. Bayern wanted to buy him a season earlier and Dortmund refused, opting to run down the contract.I imagine he's referring to Dortmund selling Lewandowski, Goetze and Hummels to Bayern. You say one was willing, so two were unwilling?
As mentioned above, Lewandowski was not in his last year but his contract ran out. Götzes release clause was triggered and Hummels was sold making him the first player since Frings in 2004 to be sold to Bayern. The last before that was Thomas Helmer in 1992 I believe.Lewandowski was in his last year and was making a fuss, Götze had his release clause triggered by Bayern. I don't remember exactly the case with Hummels but they got a lot of money for him and I think he wasn't going to renew either.
This is where the "willingly" aspect of my sentence comes in. Dortmund very much unwillingly sold Götze to Bayern because of a release clause. They have not agreed to release clauses ever since.Hummels and Goetze were both sold to Bayern.
If by leaving for Munich quickly you mean three years later then yes, he did. He said it about Götze's departure in 2013 and left himself in 2016. Still makes this a bit awkward and he lost a lot of credit with the fans (to put it mildly). I still feel that he is being welcomed more warmly than Götze for example which might in large part be due to him actually performing at Bayern. He is still respected for being a top class defender and a lot of supporters including me hope he will be a great asset for us this season.I was surprised that Dortmund actually brought back Hummels tbh. For a guy who said something along the lines of "I would never leave Dortmund" after Lewandoski and Gotze left, he sure left for Munich quickly. What are dortmund fans feelings about your former captain's return?
I just want Dortmund to win one title for Reus. He deserves it, after all his injury nightmares.
You’ve done a fair bit of business over the years both with player sales and acquisitions from Bayern let’s not be daft. What the hell are you on about? There is literally no precedent for this.
He won’t join them even if they wanted to I suspect. He’s coming home. You’ve done a fair bit of business over the years both with player sales and acquisitions from Bayern let’s not be daft.
Bayern can take whoever they want from Dortmund at any time. They’re actually desperate for wingers too you better hope Sancho has a quiet season.
They really have not though ... they've only sold 2 players to Bayern in the last 25 years (Torsten Frings and Mats Hummels). You’ve done a fair bit of business over the years both with player sales and acquisitions from Bayern let’s not be daft.
Bayern can take whoever they want from Dortmund at any time. They’re actually desperate for wingers too you better hope Sancho has a quiet season.
What you are saying is demonstrably nonsensical. Why would we be hoping for a quiet Sancho season, Bayern are desperate for wingers now, they can just take Sancho tomorrow if they so please right? You’ve done a fair bit of business over the years both with player sales and acquisitions from Bayern let’s not be daft.
Bayern can take whoever they want from Dortmund at any time. They’re actually desperate for wingers too you better hope Sancho has a quiet season.
Yeah you're right. They can take him at any time, as long as his contract with Dortmund runs out at that time. Which is in 3 years. You’ve done a fair bit of business over the years both with player sales and acquisitions from Bayern let’s not be daft.

Edit: I thought you may have been right with your acquisitions claim. Turns out there have been four transfers from Bayern to Dortmund in the last 20 years, Hummels, Rode, Götze and Hummels again The last transfers before that were Christian Nerlinger in 1998 and Jürgen "the cobra" Wegmann in 1989.
Please stop making these claims if you don't know what the hell you are talking about.
Gotze wasn't really a sale, Bayern triggered his release clause and there was little Dortmund could do to stop it.Yeah 4 in and there’s been 3 sales (Goetze, Hummels, fringe) and whilst it’s not Dortmund’s fault Lewandowski also jumped ship.
8 bits of business done between the 2 clubs since 05...It’s hardly United-Liverpool is it.
Alright, you seem to have a quite firm opinion on this matter. Allow me to explain my view on the matters. Please do me the favor of keeping an open mind to the possibility that things may not be as black and white as you currently see them.Dortmund are a selling club they don’t care if it’s Bayern or Inter Miami
Dortmund are telling Bayern to feck off then if a massive bid comes in for Sancho?
Frings moved in '04. Eight bits of business in 15 years if you want to call it that. I have no idea what it has to do with Bayern being able to take Dortmund's players when Dortmund buys off of Bayern though. Whichever way you turn it, your claim that Dortmund bend over whenever Bayern come calling does not become less untrue.Yeah 4 in and there’s been 3 sales (Goetze, Hummels, fringe) and whilst it’s not Dortmund’s fault Lewandowski also jumped ship.

Still, the fact that a player would insist on a release clause in the contract points towards the club's status.Gotze wasn't really a sale, Bayern triggered his release clause and there was little Dortmund could do to stop it.
They had their chance last year, they blew it. Completely and irreparably. That's very naive. Dortmund have a realistic shot at the title this season, which is more than we can say.
True. The club's status eight years ago. As mentioned they have not agreed to a release clause since. I don't claim that we are anywhere near the position that Bayern are but the status has changed quite drastically over the last decade. It is probably easier to understand if you are aware of just how shit we were roughly between 2004 and 2009Still, the fact that a player would insist on a release clause in the contract points towards the club's status.
So you mean every team that ever came in second or blew a lead can never have a shot at winning the title again? Not that I see us as favourites to win the league of course. They had their chance last year, they blew it. Completely and irreparably.
