- Lingard was useless
- Pogba should have scored
- Our passing 2nd half was dreadful
- Defending needs to improve from short corners
- Feck Wolves

So many people saying we were "unlucky not to win". I probably watched a different game. We created feck all and draw is as fair as it gets. Guys like Lingard should be absolutely nowhere near this team but we know what will happen, he is untouchable.

A very very difficult game is now out of the way. We were the better side and we restricted them to very few chances. We have definitely improved as a team from last season and that's a good sign. Not a bad result.

Outside of the 5 minute spell that led to their goal they didn’t belong on the pitch with. Inferior side scraping a result, it happens. Lingard has no business starting games regularly for Manchester United. Industry and finding space DO NOT CUT IT for a club with top 4 aspirations when the quality on the ball is at a substandard level.
Good level headed post. Don't personally see a better option than Lingard though, thought he was a part of making us so solid and dominant in first half, although clearly no cutting edge. Don't think andreas or gomes would have done better.. and beyond that we have nothing

Frustrating but better teams than this Utd lot will go there and get a similar result or lose. Pogba for all the hate played well. The only player who is comfortable enough to take the ball on the edge of his own box while having 3-4 players mark the space.

Lingard in my opinion utter trash and I dont think Rashford was much better. McTominay head went down a lot after their goal. Interesting debate between Neville and Carragher about the penalty-taking duties saying Pogba not in the blame here.

Lingard shouldn’t be anywhere near our first team. He’s absolute garbage.

First half apart from some really sloppy passing we looked solid.

James and McT showed a lack of experience and quality with McT being really poor giving the ball away a lot and just being slow at times to pick out the good pass or run.

Lingard was atrocious, Pogba over doing it trying to compensate for McT and Lingard

2 yellow cards that weren’t for the supposed James dive (clearly clipped) Bissaka cleary off the shoulder . VAR sucks, offside given that wasn’t checked and clearly wasn’t offside. Fantastic strike by Neves but that guy from that image looked offside.

We just looked to panic and force it 2nd half and when we needed a bit of quality for the pass it wasn’t there.

Bollocking about fluently.
Decent performance for both teams - unlucky result. Think we did just enough to deserve this one - feel we were the better team - but squandered too many chances. Still though it's good to see Wolves stalling for time then looking relieved when the game rather than what was the case last season where they showed no signs of respect whatsoever.

Could have won. Should have won. Pogba shouldn't take a penalty ever again. He never puts them right in the corner. He put this one exactly where a keeper would want it. Rashford's record is currently excellent and he takes them well. Why switch it up?

Good first half, not a bad second half. Poor to react to the unmarked Neves, but we kept them quiet other than that, just about.

Concerned that we looked totally goosed after 70 minutes in only the 2nd game of the season. We're not going to be able to keep up the high press long term if that's our fitness level.

Very annoying because we are the biggest reason for the dropped points. We should have finished off the game, especially with the pen.

Also, the refs were shit throughout the game, fat Moss was awful.

We went 1-0 up and failed to manage the game. Very frustrating, especially as we had the chance to make up for it but gave the penalty to Pogba (who has missed repeatedly) over Rashford.

the fecking lot moaning here and the matchday thread! We dominated most of the game except for 20-25 min period in the second half, created chances to win, missed a penalty, looked offside on VAR for theie goal (would have been given if there hadn't been that backlash from the last week), and for once we didn't completely fall apart when they were going at us after their goal. It's much better than what was there last season. And it will take time get everything right every time. For feck sake, calm down!

You have to win that game if you want to do anything in this league. Inexperience let it get away from us and heads dropped.
You'd be surprised at how many top teams that will drop points against Wolves.

Happy we now have a defence, annoyed about Pogba taking the penalty. This team are improving bit by bit. Bring on Palace.

Two points dropped. Why on earth did Pogba take the penalty? Ole should have sorted that out and Rashford should be taking them if he's on the pitch.

Luck of serious options off the bench shows the lack of depth.

I liked the energy in the first half. But sadly we couldn‘t create anything special in the second half apart from pogbas run. I think we are missing creative players in the middle to create chances. Our attacking play was predictable. Two points lost.

That's true, at least he wants it and puts his hand up. Once the window closes we might see far more consistency with the ball.

For me there are a lot of positives to take from this and given the way they play a draw is okay, not great, but hardly end or the world stuff.

Our midfield was actually okay for a large part of the game. And actually dominated for a large part.

Three things changed the game that all followed each other 1: Traore coming on, 2: Shaw's inability to handle Traore and apparent refusal to put a foot in or leave a mark anywhere, which then led to 3: players getting pulled out of position as all could see Shaw couldn't handle Traore.

Also why does Shaw always turn back and pass back with relatively open ground in front of him, has Valencia possessed him?

To many cross field balls went to the feet of the full backs, who couldn't do much with the ball. I kept picturing Scholes out there tonight, picking out the wingers so that the full backs could have overlapped, and created 2 vs 1 situations. That would have teared Wolves apart.

Unfortunately, we don't have anyone close to Scholes in the centre.

How was that a good performance? Our second half was a shambles! We had no attacking presence and were poor when we did manage to get in their box which was almost never.
Bad result, sloppy performance imo.

Give peas a chance.
Will take a draw that feels like a loss after the last few times we've played Wolves at Molineux.

Love Dan James for his potential, but I just wonder if for the time being he's a better choice coming off the bench. We looked light of options to really shake things up after they scored.

Ruben Neves.. Heard of him, Ole? No marking on him is so bad. Pathetic use of subs. This one is on the gaffer.

Lingard and McTominay useless. James should have been taken off earlier. Martial, Maguire, Wan-Bissaka and de Gea the only ones of a decent standard. Pogba was decent but you can't miss penalties.

This game just highlights the deficiencies that we all knew we had coming into this season. Midfield needs to be sorted in January.

Shaw, lingard and even mctominay don't look up to the standard for us to compete for top 4. All of them looked lost, but they will continue to get minutes due to the shit depth we have.

Shame we haven't got decent replacements for Lingard and Mata ....
oh but then again we have -- Greenwood and Gomes....
So feckin play them ! or those two will cost us loads of points this season.

Wolves are a sh!thouse club. Depressing we keep throwing points away against them, I'm more mad at us because we know they'll react in the second half and standing off them will give them time to dictate.

Second half BANG get back in their faces with the press.

NEGATIVES

James should not be getting 85mins at this level. Pace is great but easy fouls from a continental team stop him sixty yards from goal in transition and you get two of those for each midfielder before they're booked.

Shaw (I've made this point several times in the matchday thread but he cannot pass forwards, seriously watch him everytime he has the ball out from Dave or Harry, take a touch, bottles it passes it square or back) we need a replacement ASAP

Lacking a consistent link man, Lingard does OK but we need x factor. We need a lock picker.

POSITIVES

First half was great but when you're dominating, dominate the scoreline too!

AWB looks so strong at RB.

Martial great goal but needs to make this 9 spot his this year, no more easy chances misses and head on hands, must start producing.

Maguire looked OK and cleared his lines well.

Shame we are not top, would of been nice :(

We’re lacking a bit of creativity. Dybala would have been a game changer for us playing as ss or where Lingard was positioned tonight.

Dan James is decent, love his tenacity and desire to win the ball but that’s all I’m seeing from him at the minute. Hopefully he’ll start making better runs and timing them better and improve his end product.

AWB, Maguire, Lindelof, Rashford, and Martial all played well and were stand out players for us.

Disappointed not to get all three points but I guess a point isn’t bad at Wolves considering we’re looking at making top 4 this season.

We are unlucky not to win. Wolves created nothing really other than the one that hit the post and then they scored from the corner.

But my worry is we don’t create enough chances. Every season it’s the same thing. The front 3 are just so static and there is no movement. Martial is drifting out wide and that leaves no one in the box. The ball is out wide and there is no one in the box to get on the end of it.

Then you look at the bench to change the game. The attacking options are Greenwood and Mata. Absolutely shocking. And we are looking to get rid of Sanchez? I just don’t get it. Regardless of his salary we have no better options and can’t make any new signing so why not give him a chance? If Martial or Rashford get injured we are well and truly fecked up front.

Well 1-1 is about a fair result i reckon. This is more of an indicator of what our season is going to be that last week. As we all know on the forums and have been speaking about for ages we don't create enough chances, especially against a set defence.

Again today we have little threat through the middle, little threat from the wings, and it seems no threat from set pieces and corners.

Have no problem starting with experience. But one or the other experienced player p in the starting lineup please. Start either Mata or Lingard but bringing on one for the other is madness. Bring on a threat when chasing the game. And give them more than 5 mins on the field.

Hopefully Ole will exhaust his "Old Guard" options from the bench soon and Gomes will get the shot he so richly deserves.

To quote Eminem "snap back to reality", last week was a lucky fluke, and this game proved it. The main problem with United is that Ole is tactically inept, his method is only counter attack, only one method. The team is good enough to win against Wolves, but the tactics were all wrong. Yes the Glazers did not fully back the manager, but this was a winnable game. But everyone is too emotionally swayed to realize that the manager is not good enough to manage a big club. But now that United will become a midtable team, talking about top 4 is a joke.

If Marcus Rashford wants to be a striker for Manchester United he needs to be ruthless and should have demanded that penalty. Pogba may take some flack tonight but Marcus should have demanded that ball.

Thought apart from 15 minutes in the second half we where completely in control of that game.

Positives for me where Dan James and Wan Bissaka seem to be developing some understanding on the right. Our weak point is our left side defensively, shaw was beaten time and time again, Traore ran him absolutely ragged.
Big game on Saturday let’s pick up another 3 points.

Also I don't want to hear anything about McTomminay level. He's just not at the level needed at United, not even a stable option at time.

Also Lingard was just tragic today

Pogba shouldn't take penalties, Jon Moss shouldn't referee football matches and VAR needs to be either used properly or scrapped.

Not a bad result on paper but a very frustrating watch and 2 points lost.

Ole making late changes annoyed me. He clearly settled for a point soon after Pogba missed the penalty.

What was the point bringing Greenwood and Pereira on at 88 minutes?

Captain Hindsight re. penalty taker - but still, why take it off Rashford?! Stupid.

2pts dropped I feel, even with Wolves making a game of it in 2nd half , we done more than enough to get the win. Worldy goal, from them , how on earth can Rashford leave Pogba take that pen!

The worst Ref ever seen in prem Moss useless. Back 4 looks solid that was a massive plus, 1st half and parts of 2nd against our bogey side at present, was better than last season.

Wolves got a point there happy with.

I blame ole for the penalty fiasco. He should have clearly told them that Rashford takes penalties no if or buts.

Pogba power!!!
