Was checking FEC filings for Trump donations from the city where I stay: 8 of the top 10 donors are retirees, 1 is a CEO and the last one has some other executive role.
A recurrent donor is a certain Stephen Miller. Not the real deal (though that one got his degree from here, alongside Richard Spencer...) but the CEO of a local debt collection company.

You couldn't construct a more perfect profile if you were trying to be insulting.

Not a joke. Literally, not figuratively, pull the world back together
I know a lot of his platform is based on an imagined better past but arguing for undoing continental drift is pretty radical.

How likely is it that Trump retains the presidency? How are Biden, Sanders etc. shaping up?
Too early to tell but I am probably going to place a bet on Trump winning. The Democrats don't seem to have learned their lessons and even if its Bernie I don't think the Dems as a group have the right strategy to win.

Not particularly likely as of this moment since the independents who helped elect him have long ago jumped off the ship. He is one of the few Presidents in modern history who have actually reduced their party’s voter bases. That’s not to say it would be impossible for him to win again since a lot can happen in 14 months, but right now it’s looking unlikely.

Unlikely. Even the weakest of front runners who can’t help tripping over himself really only needs to win over a state or two since Biden already has PA wrapped up. The rest of the electoral map is mostly baked in.

The ‘no one but Bernie’ crowd isn’t as optimistic, and will claim portents of doom if anyone else wins the Primaries.

Still think Warren is the best candidate. If you can pair her with a more 'traditional' democrat (read inoffensive white male) she should be able to walk it.

Can you imagine her debating Trump on literally any policy? Trump would f*cking mumble Pocahontas, claim it was fake news and go into hiding (golfing) for weeks.

I do worry though the country is even less prepared for a female president than it was before. Seems folks want the seemingly safe bet of the familiar, apparently pretty kind seeming, older man. I hope I'm completely wrong though. Have there been any reliable polls on how Warren would do with males vs females?

Don’t think you’re wrong about her schooling trump in a debate but trump was made a holy show of in the 2016 debates with Clinton and he still got elected. He was constantly saying shit that was just flat out incorrect. His voters don’t care (whether they think he’s a cnut or not), they’re going to vote for him because MAGA or because of their bank account. So how much does that really mean? Besides... Is anyone watching the second or third debate still deciding who to vote for? ( genuine question, numbers would be interesting)

I doubt he’d go into hiding too, he’d just constantly call her Pocahontas on twitter and Fox News would tell half the country how much of a slam dunk that was, and they’d lap it up.

Also, the polling makes zero sense.
IBD, Change, and Harris/MorningConsult/Rasmussen have 3 very different pictures.

Can't wait till Trump has to debate Warren, he will try all his dankest memes and then he will lose the election and then go to prison and then Trump towers will be bulldozed.

elizabeth warren is going to destroy trumpism by catching him in a logical fallacy and all of america will stand up and applaud and then an eagle will fly down and institute a pell grant forgiveness program if you start a business that operates for three years in a disadvantaged community.
