Pathetic. Looked more like a relegation battle than a premiership top 6 derby.
Agreed.
It's obvious. The owners, the quality and the competence of the people who work for the club, OGS ... this club has no more ambition or plan to become again a big european club . So continuing even Ed who is the champion to sign lucrative advertising contracts will struggle.

Just about deserved to win that game. McTominay was excellent - he is turning into a very good midfield player. Maguire was once again a pretty commanding presence.

Once again we have another week ahead of us where everything gets blamed on Ole by half the forum and the other half argue the opposite.

I think we need to be aware of the situation here. Both full backs unavailable - replaced by one player practically hated on this forum and another young player who really has no business playing there. Lingard at number 10 - I don't think he has even had an average performance this season. Perreira is decent in flashes but shouldn't be starting. Rashford badly lacking confidence. Lets just try to bear this in mind before we sharpen the daggers. When you consider all of the above its difficult to envisage a much better performance than we saw tonight.

To be balanced though I am critical of Ole on his use of Pogba tonight. Lingard has been dreadful - a nothing player. I would like to see us start Fred next to McTominay and move Pogba into a more advanced position for a spell. I can't really see a downside to this.

I thought Tuanzebe was good in the first half, but dropped off massively in the second half.

He won't ever be a regular full back here I'm sure.
I figured that was just his mistake getting to him. Another situation where, say, an experienced captain of the team should put his arm around the lad's shoulder and perk him up.

What is Ole doing, same stupid formation and putting young back in the right side where he is awful and putting a right footed centre back at left back, playing pogba deep, playing periera out wide on the right, playing lingard and he will play him again and again.

Amazing stuff, he favoured rashford over lukaku , sold fellaini and yet keeps starting lingard in nearly every game he is fit.

A step closer to the relegation zone after that shambles. Anyone who thinks we're a top eight side needs sectioned.

What are these guys doing in training? Seriously? What are they showing? Because if it's based on games then they must be putting in some performances in training. Lingard is the worst footballer that is an international of all time.I don't even know what he does? Periera is terrible.Again no idea what he offers.Rashford is never going to be a goal scorer. He's a good player suffering in low confidence at moment. And that brings me to Ashley young.Seriously if I am in the academy and can't get on ahead of him I am going to Aldi looking for work..Pogba was just floating around doing absolutely nothing..Dan james at least put in a shift if again lacking in quality..Miss wan bissaska, terrible mistake by the young left back...Maguire played decent game, lindelof was ok but they didnt have much to do.Mctominay played well but again is so short of quality at this level I am aghast at the state of the club

United were unlucky not to be awarded at least one, possibly two penalties. Not sure how VAR viewed those incidents.

What are the positives? Enlighten me please.
For the first time since SAF left our transfers policy seems to be on point. Youth and talent. And so far all 3 signings have been very good. James is just brilliant, up and down the pitch all night long with success. The players seems to believe in what they are doing, at least if we are to take the effort they put in as a sign towards that.

Results are not going our way, but we are without a doubt at a far better place to grow into a successfull team now contra under Mou, Moyes and Van Gaal.

And what good does all the negativity do? At least give this staff of coaches and manager a season before you freak out.

you have little D.James totally outplaying experienced players like Lingard, Rashford and Pereira...time to go Fred-PP-McT..no more Lingard&Pereira; they had their chances

Frustrating that, but I can scarcely be bothered any longer.

That Arsenal side were there for the taking but this United side boasts so much average pish they couldn't manage it. Seems pointless even slating some of them as they are probably at the limit of their abilities. It's just that United are overpaying for their contribution, such as it is.

The feckin state of this club.

Next 4 games, newcastle away, liverpool home, Norwich away and Bournemouth away. I can see us taking 2 or 3 points. From the first 30 points available we will struggle to even reach a third. Legend or not, needs more time or not, Ole should be doing much better and has zero excuse considering the kind run of teams we have played so far. 5 points behind Leicester already and 12 behind Liverpool. We have fallen and are still falling.

I've defended Lingard in the past, mostly when Jose was here, he used to put a shift in, but honestly it is tragic how he is these days. Utterly pointless, adds nothing. Looks void of any confidence whatsoever.

Painfully shit
Thought the second half was as good as we've played in the league this season. And in reality, think were gonna just have to dig in and grind out similar results all season and hopefully finish top 10!! Can't see us getting any better under Ole ....his bubbles burst and he doesn't seem to have any tactical solutions to change what he's seeing in front of him. We need a clear out and hopefully Poch can be tempted in ...with a sensible January budget to turn it around. Can't see it happening overnight though. It's gonna be a long long winter.

If anyone comes after that and lambasts Pereira then it's clear as day he's got an agenda towards the lad. Him, McTominay and Maguire were basically our only decent outfield players out there.
Agreed. He did well.

Lingard was are our worst starting player, though had competition, but to me Fred was even worse. How did we spend 50-60 million on him I will never know. The worst player on the pitch though had to be Pepe. I have seen him a few times & he is average at best, yet Arsenal paid a fortune for him. Arsenal's set pieces were dreadful, lucky for us, & can see why they concede a lot.Best players were the younger ones, with McTominay MOM for me. Interesting match, with two sides lacking quality, & fighting for mid table. Chelsea/Leicester/Spurs for 3rd & 4th.

We’re a big confidence side. If we win a game and play well I could see us going on a run.

Could have been a game where we got battered but we perhaps could come away thinking we should have won. Didn’t think the performance was as bad today as was in previous games, wasn’t perfect, but considering the circumstances with injuries, we did alright.

We desperately need players back though.

Ashley Young is the most consistent player.
I am wondering what this guy is training. His ball crossing is wayyyyyy offfffff as usual.

Seen a new style, a new so called philosophy and so called strategy year on year for 7 years now. We are still falling. Yes I am negative, believe me i tried to be positive but this is bad and convincing yourself we are going anywhere will only lead to more disappointment. Agree on James and AWB being great signings but youth? I see no Gomes, no Garner, Greenwood gets a cameo here and there. We played Matic and Mata in previous games. Why is Pogba sitting so deep? Ole has told him too. He wants to take no risk he would rather not lose than not win. I would be positive losing 2 0 to Arsenal if we had a style. We have no style, i really do not understand what type of football we are playing. It is slow, boring and laboured. For me it is not about results during the transition, it is about changing the way we play and from what i have seen since Feb, we are no better than when jose was here. It is terrible.

I saw two lads with United shirts on at Euston earlier, who I presume were getting the train up to the game, and couldn't decide whether I thought fair play for the good support or that they're a bit dumb for bothering. Going with the latter.

Luke Shaw's bum
For me, its a lack of the off the ball movement. Or when there is, its the wrong run being made. We are playing possession football but there is no effective movement to interchange between attack and midfield to penetrate teams so we end up over playing, side-ways - backwards or just cross it into the box anyway. If we still had Lukaku, maybe this would be an option as none of our other attacking players can actually head a ball very well.

We are so far behind the other top teams in this area.

When shit plays shite what else can you expect other than a draw.

We gave away too many needless yellow cards. Does Ashley Young get off going in the book? I’m convinced it’s a fetish.

Yea miles behind City and Liverpool in this regard. We are very poor at creating chances whereas city are methodical in how they create chances.

It is a bit worrying.

Typical poor quality game between two mid table teams , awful to watch. Not much to look forward to for this season.
