I rank 10,000 simulations in excel based on the current oddschecker odds of the following matches

Sheffield United vs Arsenal
Aston Villa vs Brighton
Chelsea vs Newcastle
Wolves vs Southampton
Everton vs West Ham

I've found that on average we'll lose around 3 places if we lose to Liverpool. This heavily depends on the level of the defeat though, a 1 goal on average losing us 2 or 3 places, whereas a 2 goal defeat tends to lose between 3 and 4.

However, there is something like a 3% chance of us being in the relegation zone.

I said to my brother yesterday that we’d lose to Newcastle and Liverpool. 50% there

I said ole would then be sacked but that’s for another thread

Only two points from being in bottom three. How bad does it have to get?

I honestly think Liverpool will beat us by three clear goals. I sincerely hope it’s not more.

In twelth, next game at anfield. If we lose and fall to 15th then Ed and the Glazers may need an Ole sized scapegoat. If Ole Solskjaer, a club legend and fan favourite, gets sacked that'll be a deeply sobering experience.

It's at OT

I predicted us to lose 5-0 only because we can't predict more than 5.

Really fear that if they take an early lead we'll just get picked apart and it could be 6+.

We will probably lose this game. Ole is to blame not only because of the way he has played. How can you set a team up to create no chances, take no risks. People will blame injuries but this is in direct result to his methods, we saw it last year as well.

He also said he wants a pre season to play how he wants, he has had that and nothing has changed whatsoever since end of last season. 6 months of football and people still have hope?

Don’t worry guys this is all part of an acceptable rebuild.

If you know you need players don’t mess with the process & buy them immediately, this is all part of the OgS plan.

A spell in the bottom 3 is exactly what every successful rebuild needs.

This is my biggest gripe. He made it clear how he wanted us to play with extra training enabling a fast high pressing game. So where is it?

I don't think I can bring myself to watch it

Still slightly traumatised from the last time we played them before Jose was sacked, this one could be worse

Our board moving as slow as ever. It is hard to make a swift and correct decision? 9 pts out of 24 pts is never good enough

Exactly, we have not been pressing at all. Keep sitting back letting the other team have the ball and now we can't even counter properly.

Field the lineup from yesterday and it'll be 3-0.

Field the best lineup, and I think we'll be ok, and hold them.

Liverpool have a long history of coming to OT and freezing. Last year we were as threadbare as we are now and yet they played like deer in headlights.

I think we'll give them a tough game with both Pogba and Martial back, think it'll be a draw personally.

Not defending the football at all, but we can hardly accuse United of letting the other team have the ball. We had 70% possession yesterday!

We regularly have high possession, we just have no idea what to do with it.

Well, look where we had the possession, when you play that football once the other team has it you press but we didn't do that?

Our football has to be the most boring football in the whole of English football. We can't get shots on target when our strikers are paid top dollar.

Agreed. If this was at Anfield it wouldn’t be pretty.
But at OT I can see us getting something and am certainly not expecting a rout.

United cannot give a league 1 a good game. Liverpool will run through us i reckon.

We'll not be in the relegation zone after Liverpool.

We will be after Norwich the week after.

Probably 2nd bottom.

The only way it can be a rout if they score early and we are forced to push higher up the pitch but I think we'll be quite pragmatic and play a dull game which is fine versus them.

We are in a weird place where we can compete versus teams in and around us, yet struggle like hell versus bottom table feeder. (I reckon both Norwich and Bournemouth will beat us)
I think our players will be up for this game, couple of key players should also be back for this. This game is at our patch which gives me a slight glimmer of hope. Let's see.

You'll be OK you have 3rd equal best defence in the league, you're issue isn't letting goals it's not scoring them, that could change if you have Pogba and Martial back for this game.

If Liverpool want to be clever, they won’t humiliate us. Take it easy at 2-0 knowing we can’t possibly score that many and ensure Ole remains at the wheel for at least another week.

Martial adds little to the teamwork and Pogba also tends to leave the backline exposed sometimes when dwelling on the ball - something Ole hasn't really addressed still.

Some think that just players coming back will make us play a lot better - this is true to an extend, but the real issue is that we aren't coached properly and we like identity and ideas.

I don't think the players are not up for the game, they are just badly coached. I would have hope but this Liverpool team is ruthless and we are a nice team that everyone loves playing against.

You have to agree with the class of 92 here. There seem to be a plan developing here

That's all fair enough, but the point I was making was at posters saying you would lose 5-0 or more, you're problem isn't your defence, you don't let many in you have the 3rd equal best goals against, but at the moment you score even less

Heads will definitely drop if we concede early

Relegation battle. We have all the makings of a team looking to go down and seem to be getting worse by the week. I know it sounds absolutely ridiculous but confidence is massive especially in a team full of young players and a inexperienced manager.

Barely beat Astana and Rochdale at home, looking at our performances I don’t know where the next win is coming from. I bet we’re around 16th place in December.

Liverpool often approach games vs us in quite a cagey fashion. If they treat us like the poor team we are they will tank us.

Not arguing with any of that, I clearly stated I'm not defending the football, just that we can't be accused of letting the opposition have the ball, when we have stats of 70% possession.

Our footbal is dire, of that we can most certainly agree.
