I don't even think solskjaer is the right man for us, but christ if another manager shines his fecking shoes half of the forum is up in arms.
Brendan only took three minutes to shine his shoes - compare that to Ole.

Why drag United into this?

Need I remind you that we have beaten Leicster already this season and prevented them from scoring at the same time.
We don’t need reminding, it’s one of the only fecking matches we’ve won this season. It’ll be in the season highlights dvd.

Reminder that the pre season thread where some of us said they might challenge us to top 4/6 was deleted.

You invalidated a post about not comparing managers by bringing ours into it.
I really didn't. Being a long term poster means I know enough to caveat a post that would otherwise get a predictable response of being blindly loyal to solskjaer. Is incredibly common in every day speech. I don't know what's confused you but hopefully that clears it up a little.

*I also didn't say managers shouldn't be compared. I criticised a type of hysterical comparison that has seen the likes of hassenhutl put forward as our next manager. You're just thinking too simply.

Everything is hysterical on here, just start with that by default.

OK, so there was no need for you to incorrectly correct me then.

Ah Billybee was indeed talking to you, apologies Billybee.

Hes a very underrated manager. Other then klopp. He came damn close to winning the PL till the unbelievable thing happened. Didnt he go a while season undefeated for Celtic? Now looks like Leicester is regaining some of that team that won the PL. Not saying he should be United manager. Just saying he's doing a good job.

Right, because LVG wasn't the best we could get at that time ? Jose wasn't ? what a weird comment. There's plenty of shit to critisize the club with, no need to create new ones.
No. Jose had been finished for a while before he arrived at OT. Probably around the time Chelsea lost to Southampton (?) and he had that 10 minute rant on Sky

Without the Gerrad Slip he would have won the title with Liverpool (with a medicore squad), did fantastic in Celtic and he is doing fantastic work against with Leicester.

I don't think there is much to complain.
The goalkeeper, defence and midfield are better than what we had in the 13/14 season, only Sakho and Gerrard would be able to get in to this Leicester side, maybe Agger if his body held up. Our attack was a whole lot better but Rodgers has a lot of players with the same qualities he thrives on making better. Just don’t let him sign whoever he wants and he’ll do a great job.

You can't compare us to Leicester. They have a much larger fanbase, bigger transfer and wage budget, rich history of trophies, and a new world class defender.

Ole at the wheel... oh wait.

Howson is the type of fan who just doesn't want to praise other clubs or players from other clubs. I know this because he even talks about just how crap we are and that Ole might not be up for it, but then refuses to go all in on what he's feeling. Deep down, he knows Ole isn't up for it.

Conte was comfortably better than Jose at that point.

He’s far more palatable than moaning Mark from the Unitedstand, that guy must post on here, he’s just toxic and shows wonderful hindsight.

I am not going to praise or criticise Rodgers - haven't followed him closely, but one thing has made me an impression.
The striker in his team set up always stands out. Be it Sturrige in Liverpool, then Dembele at Celtic and now Vardy at Leicester.

Watching Leicester this season shows just reaffirms that Maguire was a waste of 80 million and that the money should have been used for the midfield and attack, if he was that good of a defender then surely it should be noticeable that they are missing his supposed quality but they haven't one bit and amazingly they can still play far better football than us without needing his supposed great ball playing ability out from the back.

I don't think he's (okay maybe by Utd fans because of his Liverpool links) underrated, he's a very good manager but just not world class, not in the Klopp or Guardiola level of manager. But he's as good as anybody else the EPL apart from
maybe Pochettino.

I don't think the critisism he gets is down to people actually thinking he's a poor manager, I think it's more down to the fact he's a bit of a cringeball.

Mad scoreline. What a terrific job he's doing. Leicester used to not even be an attacking team but he's slowly changing even that.

Yes, that Liverpool doc didn't do him any favours, he has a hint of David David Brent about him but that said, lots of good mangers seem to have strange/quirky personality traits & maybe are not 'nice' guys.

We have an all too normal nice guy as manager. :(

Other than occasional blabbering here and there and weird personality, he is a great manager. Need not to better than klopp or pep but he is good, better than most. Phenomenal stylish job given the resources. Proper EPL, even a continental manager. Solkjaer can learn one or two from him.

He is going superb job at Leicester. He is very good manager, probably 3rd best in the league.

I think he did get underrated for sure. Many believed everything at Liverpool was down to Suarez. It was silly. He did a fantastic job there and nearly won the league

So true, for 15 mins and we barely managed a shot. Leicester were a mess, probably worse than use when rogers took over. Now they are high flying with some brilliant signings. Ole on other hand sells half our squad, buys a few defenders, bangs on about the youth, does not play the youth, bangs on about attacking, plays two holding players, bangs on about pressing and a philosophy, players still look clueless. Ole is out of his depth.
This is now another Ole bashing thread.

Get a grip mate, none of your comments are even accurate...

Leicester City are about the quality of Lazio. I used to want Rodgers to fail because he's a bit full of himself, but I did have the feeling that he would improve Leicester a great deal.

Don't rule them out of the title race yet.

Edit: Certainly whenever his teams lose he looks embarrassed... "I should be winning every game" attitude.

Let's be honest even before he actually joined Leicester deep down we all knew that he would be an improvement over Claude Puel who didn't do too badly really. Leicester City were capable of this.

It would be interesting to see what Rodgers could do with our team. Our fans crave a return to exciting, attacking football, and that's what Rodgers has a good record of achieving at Liverpool, Celtic and now Leicester.

I think he'd certainly be happy working with our signings this summer. So it wouldn't be a case of straight back to square one job.

He has the credentials to set about sorting our problems in midfield and attack, and ultimately get our team playing the style of football we want to see.

I think there would be many, many worse appointments than Rodgers as our next manager. I can't see it happening, and I'm not sure I'd want it to either, but the idea is an interesting thought experiment.
