:(

If this goes through then thats me done as a United supporter.

The Saudi Royal family is a monarchy who is actively causing a potential genocide in Yemen(Not to forget their domestic policy). Its one thing watching the Glazers doing what any half decent business owners would do but with the Saudi royal family its a completely different level of disgusting.
Using weapons designed, manufactured and sold by the UK Government. What's your point?

I am happy with them buying us. Anyone with the billions to buy man utd probably has done shady stuff in the past. With the Saudis we would be back in the mix in under two years. It would bring a confidence back to old Trafford that is missing throughout the club

It's worrying that some people do not understand the difference between being a cnut capitalist (yes, a problem) and murderous genocidal cnuts (a bigger problem).

Failing a Jib anywhere, anyhow
Can not fathom how anyone would think this is OK? How this is better than the Glazers.

Genuinely would be the end for me and a large number of supporters I reckon. Wouldn’t want them anywhere near the country, let alone Manchester.

It's one thing whether or not there's any substance to Saudi takeover interest but what the Hell is going on with that blue tick guy. The Saudis being notoriously strict and secretive couldn't possibly be happy with this supposedly very high esteemed individual tweeting incoherent nonsense. What the feck is going on with that

For me the question is not who ownes us, the question is how are we owned?

The glazers don't know how to own a football club thats for sure, if the saudis know better, let them buy us.

And please stop with the double standards. We all live in a world where we have people owning millions and billions of dollars, euros, swiss francs or whatever and don't know what to do with it, on the same day we all know there are millions of people who don't have enough to eat or drink and often die because of it. We have to start to protest against the whole current system (capitalism), not against a saudi take over of a football club.
Problem with Saudis isnt capitalism....

What will happen if the Saudis take over? Where will they begin to bring the club back competing for titles?
The Saudi's IMO will have taken note of how the Abu Dhabi lot have structured City and will go a similar route.

Sorry but it doesn’t sit right with me that people on here are trying to downplay the atrocities committed by the Saudis after all the shit that the forum has given city about their owners’ similar affairs

Another non match going fan with all the answers.
I don't have all the answers. Never did I say so but you can't discount what I said about the role of matchgoing fans in our predicament. They are the most critical agent of change in all of this mess we are in.

That’s probably right, but having owners with a history like these guys is not something I will be happy about. Success is great, but it’s not the most important factor for United imo.

Glazers are a beautiful owner compared to them.

Not when you consider the context of each point.

My first point about it being different to City and Chelsea when they were taken over by rich owners is valid.
We are an established club and the most successful in the country. They were most certainly not.
You made an arbitrary distinction to justify having a sugar daddy club. The point is if the Saudis buy the club there is no way you can say a word to Chelsea or City of being a plastic club. It's a delusion to think otherwise.

The point about competing with Europe’s elite simply points out that in order to compete year in year out with these clubs we need owners that allow us to consistently spend to our maximum limit and invest heavily in the club and facilities (not drain our funds.)
This is what those clubs all benefit from.
What is the maximum limit? You just made that up. United have had one of the highest wage bills in Europe and have spent more than anyone in the last 4-5 years, bar City, without offloading that many players.

The major difference being we just need an owner to let us realise our potential and release what we already earn as a major brand in world football.
If we do not have this basis of ownership then we will always be chasing this pack of clubs, not leading them.
What about Liverpool? What is your excuse for why they don't need a sugar daddy owner?

He is milking it but if he is a senior regime insider he is going to be claiming that his social media accounts were hacked to survive this.
Very risky game. But also another well known Saudi journalist proposed the questions to United fans on how they would react to a Saudi purchase. Definitely something in this.

Hopefully. You can see them being desperate to beat the other states and going all out for the best.

I'm ready to kid myself in to why it's ok
Yup.....might be a whole lot of ‘reverse gear’ coming into play soon.

Ironic thing is we’ve spent bucketloads if money recently, we’ve just bought mostly shite. Fred cost the same as KDB and was only a couple of seasons apart

I can't remember why I joined this war.

And the US and Germany and probably loads more. It's like with China, following with action on those human rights violations is only feasible with poor nations where you can't make any money.

It's a shame really but yeah if they end up buying us I'm probably done with football altogether. Rugby seems like an interesting enough sport.

Yeah, it won't be the usual takeover. We have the money, we just don't have the will or the way up top. One would hope there'd be changes.

So much noise coming out on this. If that is inevitable, as a fan I cant do much except accepting the fate and continue with my attachment to the club.

Isn't it the taxes Glazers pays to US-Govt being invested on bombing Syria or some other middle-eat countries and some innocents dying from that? Every story has two sides.

If not Saudis, We definitely need someone else who can put all the money we earn back into transfer market atleast for next few windows to sort out last 7 years mess.

You mean, they might hold executives to account for non-financial performance? :smirk:

What’s the city owners done to cause atrocities?

Also the Saudi atrocities in Yemen where they are dropping British bomb, I’d like to know what people are doing about the British governments involvement.

I won’t get started on our American owners who belong to a country that if they don’t like you then they will invade you and take your assets but that’s ok!

Either way but I think its incredibly unprofessional to be so overexcited.

There was a NSFW link posted in a thread a while ago to a video of someone in Sheik Mansour’s family I believe abusing someone and other stuff has been mentioned but I didn’t really care to follow the details

The British and American governments don’t own any sports teams through which to launder their image. Not seeing the link.

They will without doubt go all out to unsurp all the competitors no question and they'll do it IMO. Someone like a Ragnick would be brought into to oversee the recruitment too.
