The kick off time reminds me of getting back home from school to watch us beat Legia Warsaw in 1991, that game kicked off about 4pm UK time

Stunning to see Max Taylor playing

Also no Brandon Williams - he’s already got first team recognition it seems
That’s not the whole list. Just mentions of some young players who are travelling. Think he’ll be there unless the knock he got on Sunday keeps him out.

    • Dishon Bernard (19), centre-back
    • Teden Mengi (17), centre-back
    • Ethan Laird (18), right-back
    • Ethan Galbraith (18), defensive midfielder
    • Arnau Puigmal (18), centre-mid
    • Dylan Levitt (19), centre/attacking-mid

The 79 year old record of an academy player in every squad might live to fight another game.

Love too see all that youth going but kinda risky considering we don’t have top spot nailed down.

Also the Astana crest in the OP is about a decade old. They’ve a different crest now.

Our last game is at OT vs AZ, even if we lose this game we should be favorites to finish top of the league.

Bold selection but I would have sent Mata and Jones with them. You need some experience and not have 11 kids battle out. Also, like @Nick7 pointed out, we have yet to secure the top spot. May not matter that much but I still think Europa is our best option to have CL next season. Anyways kudos to ole and staff and all the best to the kids.

We'll eventually meet up with a CL dropout and get schooled.

Wow, im actually so excited to watch this.

It'll be interesting to see how our young lads do in a european game at a higher standard.

    So the team could be;

Grant, Laird, Mengi, Bernard, Shaw, Ramazani, Garner, Levitt, Chong, Gomes, Greenwood

    wow

Perhaps TFM might be in at centre back over Bernard, and Lingard in over Razamani.

Either way a very exciting young team.

I won't even underestimate the teams that will be coming from europa group stage. They way we play , we might even get schooled by Celtic.

I don't mind this approach. It's a complete freeroll given the blame falls on the first team if they don't beat Alkmaar in a few weeks.

Looking forward to the scenes when Lingard or Chubbs are named as captain.

I think Lingard will start, hopefully Ramazani starts this game. He deserves it for the form he is in for U23s.

Fosu Mensah started to train from last month, so might get mins from the bench.

Well worth a watch just to watch our U23 players playing in european game.

Send the U23’s to play this game.

It’s a meaningless match on the other side of Europe. Stupidity beyond belief if Ole takes his strongest, best team with him.
So much win here. Ole's comment before the last EL game was that if they won, they could try other things in the last two games. He won, and he's following through. Don't care what the result is, but I can bet they'll go all-out to prove themselves and win this one.

I do wish they had taken Jones, though, on the off chance they might accidentally leave him outside... the airport... on the way home...

Be interesting to see who is more involved on the sidelines tomorrow. Feels like a Nicky Butt team that's going to play.

Lingard has posted an Instagram story with Tuanzebe while on a plane so I assume Axel is also traveling. MEN must have either missed him or mistaken him for TFM.

You people are a bit ridiculous, Liverpool, Chelsea (home and away), Leicester etc failed to ‘school’ us.

If we get a few players back from injury we can face up to -anyone- that drops down from the CL. It’s only our squad depth and ability to break defensive teams down that’s a huge worry - we’re shit scary on the counterattack.

    Hopefully no Greenwood injury please.

Shaw seems risky to bring along for something like this in particular. I assume the pitch will be frozen solid so not very good for those with injury prone joints it would seem.

Yeah, as if those will be dropping out of the CL to the EL. It's the shittier teams we can't execute a plan to win.
