If Pochettino wants to come here, I dont see a point in keeping Ole around. I dont put it all on him and see scenarios where it makes sense for him to stay, but he's essentially just an interim manager there to keep players happy, develop some individual players and bridge some young players into the team for the next manager to take over with a (hopefully) better squad. Just get the manager who we'd actually see as the guy to take us forward in.
That's one of the few sensible posts in here, most posters prefer to go completely over the top.

He is extremely cheap. Can't expect Woodward to sack him for this particular reason.
Is he? Thought he was paid very well. Also, if that was important they wouldn't have hired Mourinho.

Do we really need 3 separate threads to discuss his possible sacking?

There's literally nothing special about Ole's supposed vision for the club that can't be carried out by you know someone who can actually coach a team and is not out of his depth.

I think after Mourinho's second season, we have started to do more penny pinching. Our spending in the last two years is also evidence of that. He is probably earning 7,5 M per year. Poch will be more expensive.

No ours is worse obviously. I mean if Ole can't get this team to perform who could?
An actual manager? Yes Jose had them playing shite but he alienated the entire team with his toxic shite.

Get Poch Get a DOF get a new squad and pray we get new owners along the way.

Keeping Ole cause he is an ex player isn't an option

Ha sorry not having a dig at you personally and League One is a bit extreme but you get the point, just sick of all this.
If Ole will get the sack whoever gets the job Ed needs to give him some money. We may look good while the new manager bounce lasts but after that we need to add depth to the team.

He’s out of his depth here

Loved him as a player and will always be a Utd legend but there is no question as it is clear as day that he is an awful manager at this level.

Out of his depth ? oh yes.
Awful ? nah.

He has his level in management but United and the PL is just a couple of notches above his capabilities.

He needs to go, our form this season is diabolical - already 8 points worse off than the corresponding fixtures LAST year which was a shite year to begin with.

Mourinho was fired almost 12 months ago and we were better off in terms of points on the board and league position. Is the plan to purposely go backwards because if it is then Ole is the man.

Reading that is a shocking reminder of how far all the managers plus players have dragged us down post Saf.

I really don't think what they pay the manager is an issue.

His level is maybe U14 schoolboys. He’s beyond awful, absolutely the worst manager I’ve ever seen by a country mile. Phil Jones would do a better job.

That sort of form is on the players really.

we can sack ole but we have a clear lack of quality below the first string, and even they are extremely inconsistent.

Defeats against Spurs and City will surely be the nail in the coffin for Ole.
Alas I don't think so. Woodward has a belief in the future of Ole and his so called vision, plus, regarding the results against those two, they will already have promising excuses set up. "Tottenham are still in their transitional period so any result will be of their doing and we have just become another stat", then against Citeh " they are the current champions so the result will be an outstanding one regarding our injuries and the young players we have on the pitch".

B-b-b-but the identity? He's turning it around? He just needs a full pre-season? He needs Martial back??? Something-something United way??

I'd give Ole the full season to accommodate Poch in summer. The club especially Woodward should be doing everything possible for his signature. Any fan who would take Solskjaer over Mauricio is utterly deluded.

He relegated Cardiff and was on track to repeat the feat in the championship, before they sacked him. We have 4 wins in 14 under him. He is an awful manager.

This is why you don't give League 1-standard managers the biggest job in football for brainless sentimental reasons.

Crucial change there that’s needed is the new owners.
There all crucial. Ole wouldn't succeed with unlimited money. He isn't a good manager I hate to say. Klopp, Pep etc. Those men would wipe the floor over him sad to say.

New Owners DOF and no Ed are they key to our long term future but sadly we have no say in it and we'll we probably won't get any. I reckon we are fecked. Like proper done.

A season in which Mourinho was in full implosion mode, practically begging to be fired... and we're already 8 (EIGHT!) points worse off.

It's an absolute shambles.

We're doing worse under a manager who is actually trying (I think) vs one who was begging to be sacked.

Brendan Rogers has just said (in a round about way) that he has a clause in his contract that allows him to speak to a "big" club.
Let's fecking get him.

It's not even about the losses, it's the total lack of attacking nous, I'll be called a plastic fan by the top reds, but this isnt Manchester United, hasnt been for a good while.

I could probably handle losing if watching us play didn't make me want to resort to alcohol. The football wasn't the best in the final few years of SAF, he obviously made up for it while being a winning machine, but the winning stopped and the football has gotten 100x worse.

Genuinely breaks my heart when I watch us play - suppose it helps that the TV scheduling in the UK is a shambles so I cant watch much anyway.

Have huge respect to the fans consistently going to games home and away, I really do, spending all that money and energy knowing 90% of the time you wont be entertained.

Who knows?

Ole has said they are searching for midfielders so at least it should be a temporary problem.
We now have 4 wins in 14 under him. Do you consider that performing or progress? Heading into Spurs, City and Everton.

But then at what point does Poch get to evaluate the squad and identify transfer targets?

There's no point waiting that long. As soon as you realise Ole isn't good enough for this league, let alone this club, that's the point you sack him and start drawing up shortlists.

Okay we might hold off if there's a top four clause in Ole's contract, but still, Ed had better be drawing up his shortlist around about now.
