January Players sale - Lingard, Martial, Mata, Young and Pogba if he wants to leave.

So many bad players in the first half and Martial is the only one you call
In that post, yes. I’ve probably called them all shit at some point in the last hour.

He’s been the best player out of our front six by a comfortable margin. That’s staggeringly obvious. So to take issue with him, above all else, smacks of an agenda.
No he hasn’t? Tell me something he did in that half, besides getting caught offside. Oh, and “controlling the ball”, of course.

We are overreacting. Watford is there for the taking. Once Pogba or even Greenwood comes on, the game will change in our favor. Even with our current lineup, I can still see us getting goal. Nothing special about this Watford team and that break by lingard would have open the flood gates.
If Greenwood keeps having to come on to save our ass why isn’t he starting? James has done very little for months now.

I didn’t, no. The clubs logistics team must have forgot though. Hopefully next Christmas they can be better prepared for difficult journeys such as Manchester to Watford.
You didn't know? Okay well it's almost Christmas! Everyone's excited and the roads are busy! There's also rail strikes and major disruption! Busy traffic. No biggie.

That half went about as well as expected. Not impressive from us at all. Yet again struggling to break a side down. The Lingard opportunity was the only really good one. He made the wrong decision that time for sure. Nice football to create that chance though.

Watching us in the last third is so depressing because even when we are on the edge of the opponents box, we look a billion miles away from actually forming an opening or having a decent chance. The ball just slowly moves in front of the banks of four, full back, centre back, centr midfield, left wing, left full back, centre mid, centre back, right wing, right full back, no one is pulled out of position, we just faff about, then a bad pass or touch has us on the back foot, being countered.

    It's truly hilarious.
Honestly, there’s more incisive movement in a local 5-a-side league game

Passing has been awful by both sides, you'd think they're both in the bottom 3. McTominay and Fred look scared because Pogba is back on the bench
McTominay's passing has always been wank. Just like James he isn't suited to games that we should control.

Lingard is just a stupid person, that's all there is to it. Add unearned arrogance to the mix and you get actions like that.

He is sprinting full speed and he tries to chip a fully stood up keeper.

The keeper is fully stood up, pick a side and roll the ball, you cretin.

Playing the likes of Lingard is exactly the reason why I am Ole out and always will be. Absolutely no excuses for that. should have been sold ages ago.
True. He should have been sold ages ago. Playing for his united career i feel now.

Yet his knowledge of the game far exceeds yours. He is in the dugout and you are on here pretending to be the ghost of Fergie. Comical how many undiscovered talents we have on this site!
fecking hell, do you actually think he’s qualified for this job?

Wan-Bissaka is such a weird player. Every time he's on the ball he just looks like he's about to lose control of it.

Absolute bonkers decision to start Lingard after him being absolutely dreadful against Everton, and surprise surprise, he is shit again.

He’s literally done nothing. The front six have all been atrocious, Martial no better than the rest

Our coaching team cannot coach our players to play attacking football - it really is that simple. Their idea of attacking football is hoofing long balls to the fast forwards to chase and catch defenders off-guard, there is no Plan B, C, D or E. It is literally that one plan for every single game and if the opposition sit back we have no other option.
Agreed. They haven't got a fecking clue. But every time that's pointed out, you'll hear the familiar "well, they have better players than us - what do you expect" excuse.

    It's utter nonsense.

Lucky for us today we've got a couple of players on the bench that could make a big difference. Greenwood for James and Pogba for Lingard. Job done

Dire game. Anyone else think we should try and keep our wingers on the line a bit...at least the winger on whose side the ball is on. The other can drift into the box for support. Time and again we have our full backs standing with the ball wide approaching the box not knowing what to do with it as everyone else has wandered inside. Then play stops or slows down again.
Maybe change it up with the wingers hanging wide and the fullbacks making inside runs? Get the wingers to do the attacking with the ball a bit.

You know it is a shite game when a holding midfielder (Fred) is on for maximum bonus points in FPL without having scored.

I thought Fred had a strong first half.

He was our only dangerous player. He is completely isolated up front. Our least problem our there today.
He was about as dangerous as a marshmallow wrapped in bubble wrap.
If our squad was where we wanted it, most of those starting would be bench players.

Not to mention, he has basically been the only player with any sort of composure in their half.
I’ve literally not seen him do anything remotely worthy of praise today. I don’t understand what you guys are seeing tbh.

How people can say that Martial is bad.... really dont understand that.

Good hold up and created a huge chance for Lingard. Best player on the pitch... certainly best attacking player.

Are people happy with us game-raising vs the top teams, only to fall back into abject mediocrity the next? We are hilarious to watch in front of a low block. Is this what the future holds for us under Ole?

Amazing how well we made Watford look, surely we'll step it up in the 2nd half

That's what hes there to do. There's feck all movement off him from the others when he does control it though.
