That was a good performance and a great result. Felt assured of victory after we went up because of how solid we looked.

Dean was absolutely shite. Mee should have been off, and he should have started clamping down on clattering James.

One of the worst refereeing performances i have seen in a long time. Mike Dean needs to be investigated

Great win for us against a bunch of thugs whose only game plan was to kick our players

Not as enjoyable as the last game, but as this is the kind of game we’ve dropped points in way too often this season, it’s probably a more important performance overall. Maybe a tad disappointed we didn’t put the game to bed earlier.

The sort of fixture where it doesnt matter how you win, you just need to somehow get there. As it was we played very decent in the first half and fell away slightly in the second. Burnley are an ugly team, and the referee made some questionable calls. A couple of those fouls on James looked borderline red cards.

About United - these guys have got some guts. It's such a shame that we struggle with consistency sometimes as it raises those doubts about how often they fancy it, but it's really, really easy to root for this set of players, far more than in recent years.

Fred and Williams outstanding. Fred has gone up several levels this season and Williams looks just as good a prospect as Greenwood does.

Rashford looks leggy but got his goal. James epitomises the type of character that I love to see in the shirt. Young and Matic both had decent games. Lot of positives overall.

A tough few weeks coming up so it was important to get the win. The moaners will have their chance to vent during this upcoming period but it's important that we recognise the progress. A win at Arsenal would be huge.

Good result away from home with a clean sheet. Williams has a superb game. Some dodgy tackles from Burnley and the booking for Williams was a joke. Now let's go chin Arsenal next.

Not sure how they finished with 11 or should that be 12, like Wimbledon of the 90's disgusting football team.

Great result big mentions for Fred and Williiams and De Gea when called upon.

Lets keep it going against Arsenal.

We were 10 points behind 4th at the end of November. We have closed that gap to just 1 with the 3 points tonight. That's great going.

More importantly was the performance, an excellent display from every player on the pitch - Williams, Fred, Martial and Rashford in particular - for the second game running. It's worth pointing out that both of those wins came against low-block teams that we tend to struggle against.

Despite what half the clowns on this forum believe and the last redcafe podcast which was a shambles tbh, this United side is far closer to a title hunt then that Chelsea squad under lampard. If we could breakdown lesser teams more regularly, we would be comfortably in and around city/Leicester If not ahead

France - can't win anything with Swedish turnips
Total control for two thirds of the match. Quite enjoyable for the most part.

Lindelof makes a stupid challenge and gives an unnecessary free kick away and suddenly the pressure comes on us. Heart sinks when Lingard comes on and his contribution is one pass straight out of play, two fouls, one handball and unmarked on the penalty spot passes it to a Burnley player - no more please.

Positively Martial, Fred and Williams very good games and even Young and Matic did well for the most part. Pereira worked hard.

Ref was giving us nothing and far too lenient with Burnley.

Bonuses - a clean sheet and got the correct score.

A well deserved 3pts after recent balls ups. Great from Fred and Williams and glad to see Rashford waking up at the end after sleepwalking 90 minutes. - Some of those Burnley supporters really were pathetic, shouting cheat everytime we touched the ball. Pathetic just like their team.

Good game. Should have won by more. Burnley offered nothing going forward. James was my MOTM. This kid is a warrior. Gets kicked all over the field but just keeps going. Williams would be my runner up. Great in the first half but slowed down a bit in the second. Still can't believe he got a yellow card instead of a red for Bardsley. The only real negative I can pick from this game was that one chance that James set up for Martial and for some reason Martial didn't shoot. And when he finally passed it, Lingard decided he didn't want to shoot either. Come on guys...you're professional footballers. Use your left foot FFS. Other than that, it was a good game...

I hope the posters slating Williams before the game give him equal praise now, excellent performance from the lad. He’s going to be a quality player for us.
The only thing I was worried about, was him keeping his cool as he has that about him. I knew Burnley would be in thug mood. He did really well.

And yeah, we’re not getting relegated :smirk:
6pts over the 2 close together Christmas games = not too shabby.
6-1 in GD too.
That Watford loss is looking more like a blip now, hopefully.

Brilliant. We were in control for a whole game and I can't remember when Burnley gave us so little problems away. Brilliant from Ole and the team. First half little better then second but overall very impressive. What I would like is for us to be more direct and to pass little better. Often we see our players lacking splitvision as we could have played ball better cuople of times in opposite direction when we were attacking.

However very good game from the team and extra credit to Williams, Fred, James and I would like to say Matic who bossed the midfield. Little bit slow but very good game controlling both teams in right ways. Rashford and Pereira were the only one I thought could have done better job today despite goal and assist.

Defended well, didn’t shy away from their roughness, got 2 goals.
Happy with that

Another Mike Dean special. He has enough to release a DVD after his retirement. Meanwhile, how on earth Burnley managed to finish with 11 players remains a mystery...
Considering his clearly demonstrated aversion to using technology - where the feck was VAR tonight? -, it will probably be memoirs written on parchment with a quill.

Exactly the type of game the media told us we can’t win. We wen’t to Burnley, and took the points.

Shoutout to Dan James, he’s been off the boil this last 3-4 weeks but was excellent tonight in difficult circumstances.

It's because of refs like Dean that Burnley keeps playing like thugs because there are no repercussions. Pissed me off.

That was more pleasing than the Newcastle performance by a mile, a thoroughly professional display. Burnley are the worst and ugliest football team i've seen this season. I seriously think Astana and Rochdale played better football against us. Awful long ball team but our defence stood up to it to brilliantly.

Well butter my arse, that was actually alright.

3 points. Away at scummy Burnley. Nice one.

Onto Arsenal, let’s feck them up and make DT cry

Despite many positive posts about him today, I honestly didn't like the performance of Young. He didn't contribute at all in attack.

Rather than that, all starters had a good game (even Matic, yes), but Lingard cameo was once again a very poor one.

William MotM for me, followed very closely by Fred. Martial, James and Pereira also impressed.

3pts. thats about it. Thank you Burnley for not pressing Matic, feck this ref and everything else in this match.
They pressed him once and got the ball but besides that, whenever they tried, Matic and Fred managed to escape the pressing so it's quite good from both.
