I hope burnley get relegated soon and join their dark art peers Bolton and Blackburn, wherever they are currently rotting. Such anti football teams should have no place in the premier league elite. As for Mike Dean, I really hope he meets someone in a dark alley tonight. He could have gotten some of our players really badly injured.

Brilliant performance by the team, there is something magnificent in watching the likes of James, Williams, rashford and martial putting in a performance like this.

Not really that great to watch but good result. Hopefully we will beat Arsenal which I believe is highly probable. Their style of play perfectly suits us.

Good result and good performance. A good few were expecting us to lose this one.

DDG, Maguire, Lindelof and Williams were very good at the back.

Fred was brilliant in the middle (motm for me) and Matić showed he can still be useful.

James, Martial and Rashford were good again.

We’re 5th. 4th is absolutely for the taking if we can put together a streak. If we could actually finish 4th it would be a great achievement for us this year.

Matic isn't getting enough credit either. I only noticed him make one real mistake the whole game.
That is true, felt like he was very good. Just went about his buisness nothing flashy just gave Fred and that a good base to work off of. We looked a lot more solid with him in there.

As a fan of the club, you are able to slip in a back handed compliment on just about everyone on the team. I understand ripping on them when they have a bad game, but even with a win all you compliments are negative.

i actually feel bad for you

Not seen or heard a single word anywhere in the media calling out Burnley as the bunch of cloggers they are and nothing said about the awful incompetent performance of Mike Dean. They should both be made to explain how they feel about their performances. They could have cost United points and players in that game, absolute disgrace there are no repercussions.

Cracking display by the lads, every player was as mature as i'd seen them, even Young and Matic didn't put a foot wrong. Fred MotM and easily becoming one of our best players, absolute class today.

Edit. What does Jesse actually do anymore?
He is young and runs a lot.

Solid display. Not a super entertaining game. We're still finding our feet against the low block and it'll take a bit of time and perhaps a few more players before we can execute our possession play. Fred is starting to look real proper. Always felt he just needed trust from his manager to grow. Also loving Brandon Williams a ton.

Their style of play would have suited us before but they've a new manager now in Arteta.

I didn't see the first game. Is he setting them up differently?

I'd always be confident of beating Arsenal. It'll be interesting to see how they go today.

Are you kidding me? It was the same old same old performance. What were you thinking when we wasted those chances? A draw was writing on the wall? We made the same old mistakes as before - Matic and Fred gifting the ball to opposition, our CB and MF committed unnecessary foul right outside the box - Any of of those could be an equaliser. Although the goal was a defender mistake, we did create plenty of changes, but again, only to be wasted.

James could run but could not pass, Rashford consistently and persistently ran into a crowd of defenders. martial was the only one playing with a bit of brain, William was the only one capable of making decent cross into the box.

No I’m not kidding. It was a decent performance from the team against a team that had the potential to give us a really tough game. We won. Kept a clean sheet away from home against Burnley. There were plenty of performances like that even under SAF with a much better squad.

Very good win against a thuggish pub team. How they finished with 11 I'll never know and that yellow for Williams should earn Dean a ban and another one for disallowing Martials goal. Good all round performance but when I see Peirera, Matic and Young with such high performance scores it makes me doubt the quality of the opposition. Very happy with the points and my Xmas wish is for Burnley to be relegated never to be seen again.

Watched Arsenal vs. Bournemouth. He is trying to make them push higher and be more aggressive in winning the ball back, sort of Pep/City style. But they lacked consistency in that high pushing and defensively were very vulnerable, especially on counter attack.

Against Burnley every United player had some highlight points; DeGea's save from Bardsley, Pereira's curling pass into Martials path for the first goal; some lung bursting runs by James only to be chopped down time and again, Burnley should have finished up with nine men, but of course the ref was Mike Dean!

Our Two centre backs were magnificent against the 'up and at 'em' style of Barnes and Co., some excellent straight forward passes into the Burnley defence from Lindelöf reminiscent of Carrick at his best. Fred in particular, but Matic as well, kept the ball moving through the midfield, very quickly and in a forward direction most of the time. The first half was the best display I've seen from Pereira, I still think he falls short of the standard required, but his efforts and energy are encouraging and occasional he does make the right decision.

Martial in the right place at the right time, Rashford blew hot and cold at times, hope he is not going 'off the boil', but for me Brandon Williams was the star of the show, must take over that left back position on a regular basis, sooner rather than later. I understand he's still only a kid, but his confidence and general positioning and decision making for someone of his age, is only bettered by Mason Greenwood.

Brilliant performance is a bit of a stretch but yes they did put in a solid performance.
Most importantly they are beginning to play like a team by working as a unit.

I am hopeful that the rest of the season sees United continue to progress.
A top 4 finish should be achievable.

A very good performance given the thuggishness of the opponent and the referee giving the thuggish opponent the benefit of the doubt at every turn.

Williams and Fred were outstanding.

Ole should get more credit here for leaving Pogba out. If we can't beat this Burnley side without Pogba we have no right to even think about a top four finish.

After 2 wins in a row, people are talking about top 4 again. I'm not that optimistic, because we still have most of the bigger teams away; Liverpool, Chelsea, Leicester, Tottenham and Arsenal (and Everton). The first half of the season should have been
the easiest.

It depends on our rivals, whoever manages to feck up the least will get top4. Spurs have dropped points, Chelsea are inconsistent. Arsenal have been terrible but they might be getting better.

Also it doesn't seem like it's the big teams we need to worry about especially away when they'll come on to us.

Top 4 is definitely doable if we can keep improving and get more consistency.

Today they played high press again. They totally nullified Chelsea until that Leno mistake.
I'm afraid they are due a win by now, I hope it won't happen vs. United.
I watched the second half and they had a bit of fight about them so Arteta is certainly making his mark but there was a fair few last ditch tackles and they didn't create a huge amount.

I'd still be confident enough.

You won't. British media is as corrupt as most PL referees are with their Anti United agenda. Of course, if that happened to Liverpool, Spurs etc you wouldn't hear the last of it.

Top 4 is very achievable for a number of teams due to the inadequacies of ourselves, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal... even Leicester could drop off a bit with a few injuries. Very interesting run in ahead, let's see can Ole keep us on the up. Consistency against the smaller teams will be key.

That is so right.
For the last few years, top four has seemed something of a poison challis with teams being so inconsistent when as you say, consistency is the key.

As the Goonners tired in the second half and Chelsea got themselves sorted out, there was only one team in it.
The trouble is that we are quite inconsistent and must keep Aubamiang quiet because he is a big threat.

It'll probably be a very high scoring game, Auba and Ozil will run riot but equally we'll hit their weak defence hard on the break. Gonna be dramatic  three wins on the trot would give us serious momentum for the run in

I hate Sean Dyche. Absolute office manager shirt and tie wearing meglomaniac.

Glad we beat them and I got to listen to another bullshit post match interview of his after a loss.

Little late to the party but I was impressed with the game, good result! Getting closer to top 4, maybe a signing in January will help us a bit! I’m Ole out, but can’t deny that the recent form been okay, only lost to Watford (which is terrible I agree) and tied Everton, other than that we’ve been grinding out results, hopefully this continues and not another false dawn again!

And the finishing was good?

I did say we had created plenty of chances (unlike some game when we did none). Problem is on final 3rd, so wasteful, that you would not get any counter-attack chance at 90+ min had the scoreline been 1-1. You just had to look at all those draw games that we suffered this season - if you fail to control the game, someone will punish you.

So in a completely different situation something different might have happened?
