The starting of lingard was mind boggling ,and no one was suprised when he was hooked . Shaw is done , never recovered from his leg break . Fred is Fred .Two CM needed in the window , but cant see it happening .
Ole looks lost and out of his depth .Job is too big for him , top four awaits if only someone had the balls to do what must be done .

Yet another spineless, pathetic and embarrassing performance to put on the pile. Really don't know why I expect any different now, this is this United in a nutshell.

Where the grass is greener.
Even if we were in form, the squad is too thin to be successful. The fact that we're very up and down means this season can only end poorly I believe. We'll be knackered soon, and the injuries will continue to pile up. Terrible squad management.

By far the most disappointed I've felt watching a United game this season. Not one single positive that I can think of to take from this match, apart from the fact that none of our direct rivals won today.

It's a real problem figuring out why we just don't turn up in certain matches. Is it Oles fault? Is it a poor mentality amongst the squad? Are they tiring already because the squad is thin? Its probably a combination of all of these things, but it's a real concern with so much football left to play. We could really do with a couple of players this month.
Partly it's the thin squad, and the lack of competition for places also means players don't have that buzz of needing a good performance to keep their places. Mainly, it's that without any of the first choice midfield, the team is crippled as a result. And that first choice midfield is serviceable at best to begin with.

This quote has to be a joke surely and not actually from the manager of Manchester United right?

Embarrassing and entirely predictable. Once again Ole may as well not have been there, totally inept.

RVP and Rio on BT doing some great analysis of how nobody in our team could provide for Martial and Rashford making some great runs.

Now they are telling an anecdote of how Ferguson called the defenders and midfielders into a meeting and threatened with dropping any and all of them who couldn’t find RVP’s runs with balls over the top.
Rio now shutting down any talk whatsoever of the United players not caring. Would have been nice if they had pressed him more on whether the manager is at fault or whether United are just where they ought to be with the players available, who logically therefore are not good enough.

This is probably the biggest problem we have right now the standards at the club have dropped so much, Fergie wouldn’t have accepted any of the performances from this lot

Poor performance, no intensity at all. Fred fought hard all game and deserves to be MOTM, the rest played poorly or just above. Our tactics I simply couldn't understand at all, If we can't play through the middle because it's congested, why do we hammer on with the same tactic a la Moyes? Ole needs to take some of the blame today.

I praised Ole for the professional display last game but starting Lingard in this form was a big mistake. James wasn't up to much either. I can see why he thought that it might be a good game to bring Lingard back in and get him some confidence but it backfired. The guy can't keep starting games in this form for United.

Better second half but completely outplayed in the first half by which time the damage was done. I know Arsenal played with a lot of passion but they were sloppy as well and looked absolutely knackered in the second half. Unfortunately our strategy just seemed to be to hope Martial could dribble past 4 defenders and create something (which he nearly did a few times)

Other than McTominay that was probably our first choice team, considering we always play the same shape :(

Being Manchester United does not give you automatic right to win games.

I think it was laid out in Rio's analysis though - boys who "want to do well", "want to be the best in their position" - that's a diplomatic way of saying they work very hard and aren't good enough.

Is it harsh to ask why De Gae didn't gather that ball flicked on from the corner? It takes the same amount of time and reaction speed to bring your arms up and parry a ball away as it does to bring them up to gather a ball in, if anything it's quicker to gather it. I'd rest/drop De Gae now I really would, its lots of little things and the signs gave been there for a while that he's having one of his poor spells, Romero deserves his chance. Obviously well aware that this is the least of our problems though boys... Just trying to raise something different, like for example how the HELL can Fred be allowed any direct free kick? I feel bad knocking him because he's been one of very few positives in recent weeks but the guy can't shoot for shit, he just shouldn't be allowed to attempt shots on goal, his dreadful shooting is possibly the most consistent thing about our season so far.

Finally, I've bit my tongue on Lingard and supported him until now but oh my god how is he starting this game? Did Ole not think Pereira played by far his best game for us this season against Burnley? Dropped for a player who must surely be officially the most out of form attacking midfielder/player in the entire Premier league this season? He must be?!

I don't know who or what to blame anymore, if Ole wasn't Ole I'd be calling for him to go, I don't like the manager merry go round at all but where are we going? What are we trying to do? I know this is a shite reason for not wanting him to go but I'm just being honest, it's a real awkward one cos we just love him don't we?

Sentiment is running down quickly I fear.

The Glazers are not here to win trophies, they are here to make money.
Financial and footballing success go hand in hand. They can't keep on raking money in while the football is crap. At some point it will come to bite them, and that point is next season. Addidas has a clause where if UTD don't make 2 consecutive seasons without UCL, they can get their financial sponsporship money. If we don't make UCL next season we will see a huge drop in revenue.
So either spend some money now and try make top 4. Or don't and loose money next season when you don't

Seriously that’s been the story of Ole’s term with us, your post could be posted after most of our games.

I mean his record against the big 6 is unbelievable. I had us down to lose as soon as he was out. Going to be a long two months.

I thought it was brilliant. Better than anything I’ve seen on Sky, they’d probably still be talking about Pogba. Thought RVP made a great point about the manager putting some fear into the players. Sometimes the pundits have too much invested to be honest.

Ole, please stop your nonsense. Get in 3 players in January. 1 striker, 1 right winger and 1 Creative midfielder. If you think this squad is good enough, please wake up because you are freaking dreaming.

I've calmed down after my cup of tea and a cig.

Can understand Ole trying to rotate as we have Wolves and City coming up? But to have Lingard and Matic and then the underperforming Shaw..... that's like giving yourself no chance.
I know he doesn't want the young Brandon to burn out but we really needed his aggression today. We can't have two passive fullbacks on the pitch.

Fred and Martial (Fred especially) tried.

The less said about Maguire the better. His partnership with Lindelof doesn't work. Where is young Tuanzabe? At least try something different.

Conclusion - we need midfielders NOW. I don't know where we get them but it's a necessity.

Although I did think RVPs point just before was more pertinent.

He said Ferguson would tell them if you don't do what I want you're out of the team.

Without getting into who's fault it is, with the squad so thin Ole can't really do that which would mean there's less of a fear factor than there should be.

It is a problem. They have let the squad get paper thin, Ole is guilty of this as well. Certain players are playing constantly. It cannot be great for them. Some are looking especially jaded.
they are playing constantly because we have no alternatives .If we had good options available fo you honestly think Lingard ,Pereira , matic would have been in the squad today ? We desperately need new recruits but I have an awful feeling that we won’t recruit in this window

He is absolutely spot on. We are shockingly average nowadays and as long as this current coaching system is present that will continue. Mediocrity breeds mediocrity. We are fecking disgraceful for a club of our stature, top to bottom.

Zero accountability. Ole will play Lingard next game because he's almost all we have and Ole thinks he's good. Simple as that. This man has managed Cardiff and Molde boys, Lingard is an acceptable player for him because it's all he knows.

Feck this team and feck anyone that thinks there's a "plan" beyond winning a few games and getting those season tickets renewed with spin and nonsensical buzzwords.

Shocking United side. Absolutely shocking.
This team is a ship with no captain at the helm. We've got young players desperate for guidance, yet we've employed Molde/Cardiff's manager, what were we expecting really? It's insane to actually expect anything other than cluelessness at this level.

No guidance = No standards. No standards = No consistency.

We don't know what we're doing. Simple as that.

The fans are being conned by Woodward and Glazers. This is no rebuild. It's the collective lowering of standards, to cover up our incompetence/save face with sponsors.

I've been saying that since this time last year. He's the only one who has an ounce of leadership inside him.
