I didn't pick him in round 1 only because I was sure you'd go for him @Physiocrat . Was my first choice for the round. I might be guessing wrong of course.

Tricky round, though. Probably would've paid off to be less cagey - Laudrup not going in the first round indicates as much (surprised by that, was sure he'd end up on the blocked list straight away).
In fact, it may turn out I could have been less cagey with my second pick too - but I'm happy enough, got an old favourite.

Serbia has 12 appearances in World Cup, first in 1930.
Those were Yugoslavia which as I clarified earlier in the thread was to be considered a separate nation to Serbia for the purpose of this criteria.

Serbia is absolutely different to let's say Ukraine or majority of other countries as it is seen by their list of appearances with FIFA where they have 12 already.

It has to do with which modern federation is considered to have "inherited" the place (within FIFA - and thus FIFA history) of the old super states (Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia).
Serbia is considered the "successor" of Yugoslavia (more precisely the Football Association of Serbia is considered a continuation of the old Yugoslav federation). Ditto for Czech Rep. (Czechoslovakia) and Russia (Soviet Union).
What's the crack with the teenage dream bit? Do they have to be a teenager when they scored?
