I have come with an ingenious plan (if I do say so myself) so save this [once] proud and history football club. It won't be easy, there will be tears (from a certain EW) but I'm hopeful we can pull it off. HOWEVER, the lynchpin holding it all together is assuming someone on this forum knows Marcus Rashford or knows someone who knows him and that someone is open-minded. Malleable you could say. We need Marcus Rashford as he is untouchable (local lad and best asset at the moment) in the squad and therefore our best chance of this working. He also probably has some sway in the dressing room and is famous enough to really hammer the point home. So what is the point? To save this club...by blackmail! It's a time-old practice but can work in the right circumstances. The goals are:

- to sign some good players
- to remove Woodward as CEO

If we can convince Rashford to issue an ultimatum to the effect of "if these terms aren't met, I will publicly look for another team" then we have some real hope. The higher-ups will know they cannot sell him or even banish him to the u21s because of who he is and how fans would react. There are 3 and half years left on his contract so it will take a while to run it down but at the same time, Glazers will still be losing money by not using an expensive and commercial asset (which they won't do because of fans) and by not selling him (so they will have to concede to his terms).

I say we get this plan in motion asap. There must be someone out there who has the right contact at least?

Feel free to add suggestions to this foolproof plan.

Cheers.

I'm also getting desperate and watched yesterday game with complete lack of hope (and confidence that after 3-0 they could go 9-0 and nothing would change) but man, if you believe we'd get Rashford to issue an ultimatum to Manchester United urging them to remove Woodward and "sign good players", I see you're well ahead of me.
Not going to happen and it seems Ole and Woodward are here to stay, they're enjoying their time and have little to complain about, many fans still think Ole will turn into tactical genius overnight, so no revolution expected.

Is he though? There seem to be a lot of people online who still consider him a legend. I reckon most people have got over it as he did have a point.

Plus the circumstances are a lot more drastic now and so I think people would be a lot more understanding of Rashford. No-one likes Woodward that's for sure.

Think it would be better if fans at Old Trafford got a grip and stopped being nice little sheep to the Glazers.

The moon gave me flowers for funerals to come.
Every man and his dog involved with the club knows we shouldnt be in the current state we are in. They know full well the state we are in and what will happen if you dont adapt to change.
Whether things are being done transparently in the background to improve things time will tell. There just wasnt any proper forward planning done or innovation to adapt to change to begin with before Fergie left and this is the result so asking Rashford to have a word would be pointless, he knows the story as do plenty of others in there.

Then they will leave me little choice but to rally the United Ultras to ride round OT on noisy motorbikes during crucial boardmeetings where they discuss their annual January board bonuses.

This is comical. I don't think even a player of Messi's caliber can force the Glazers out by giving an ultimatum if he played here all his career.
Now if the plan was to get all players show a sustained public form of revolt, it may have some effect but players being professionals bound by a contractual agreement won't do that. They also have to think of their careers if it fails (no one wants a rebel).

Those with true power to force a change in ownership are the fans. There has been talk of fans boycotting games. It would have to be to a very massive proportion and again, sustained over a period of time (till the desired change). It has its challenges too as there are those who claim to be the 'true United fans' who won't do what the 'plastic fans' may be willing to do. Besides, the club is too great a club to not have tourists in attendance on match days.

Forget about rashford, if most of the matchgoing fans start speaking up against the board and start to show anger towards the board it may work.

Why don't the matchgoing fans speak up against the board?

It has gotten so bad I placed Woodward and the Glazers in the same class.

They won't though. I imagine they think by still attending matches it shows they're "real fans". Virtue-signalling nonsense and just impedes our progress. The SJWs of the footballing world.

He didn't have caf to back him up.

With our combined influence and expertise, this plan is destined to succeed.

It is absolutely comical, but, to be fair to him, he's not talking about forcing Glazers out, he's talking about forcing Glazers to get rid of Ed. I'm not sure why I'm arguing on his behalf like if this was a sane proposal.

The plan is almost as foolish as expecting Ole to lead us to a PL title

Is not CR7. Can't blackmail people with Rashford. Sell him and buy Lautaro Martinez.

I can't tell if this is a very poor attempt at satire, or just a very poor attempt at a thread.

Yeah, just go and buy Lautaro Martinez. That will work. He would see us selling a player like Rashford and would definitely think "this club is going places, I must go there to fulfil my potential"

Fans must do it by staying away from games. It won't take long for them to get the message then.

I have a better plan. Let’s find someone close to the Glazers and convince them to gift the club to the fans. Same hassle as with Rashford but more straightforward.

Unfortunately your plan is flawed. The Owners are only interested in maximising profits not winning trophies. If Rashford issued an ultimatum they would sell him and pocket £100m+.

You are assuming that most of the players actually give a f***. They are mostly mercenaries. Not much loyalty left in football...except for the fans.

Why don't we find rashford, catch him, take a hammer to his ankle and put him out for a couple of months.

That way, we'll lose against Norwich and Burnley and Ole will get the sack...that seems what people want.
