God damnit. @oates our award show is probably in jeopardy because this useless arsehole might get the sack on Wednesday night.
Don't worry, I've got my fingers crossed that he'll see out his contract no matter what!

I saw a man who won a lot of trophies, had a particular disliking to Liverpool and always had good things to say about Manchester United before he got the job.

He’s a selfish man but most serial winners are. Have you seen the state of Klopp, Pep and Fergie when they lost?
I saw a man who wasted half a billion and made us worse. If even half of his signings had worked out we'd be in much better shape.

The tactic was spot on. It's just the players quality was severely lacking.

Ole's summer buy players didn't look anything close to Liverpool's, despite spending 150m. Which is worrying.

Dude needs sacking last year. This is Moyes's level of idiocy.

It's a joke. They're taking the piss out of that comment Ole made last week about City playing their 'starting XI' against United in a league cup game.

Sometimes its like the brexit thread in here. Both are a subset of people putting blind faith above expertise for some comforting and familiar rhetoric.

The idea that there's no point sacking him because we've tried replacing managers and it hasn't worked before is obviously ridiculous and yet so often repeated.

Oles just a comfort to some, letting them lower standards so they don't have to be angry at underperformance. Eventually they'll have to come to terms with it but for now delusion is better than having expectations that might not be met.

United manager trying to find a positive - get the pitchforks out
You have got to be having a fecking laugh? Am I supposed to be positive because their players took off their damn shirts off?

As I said, this is Moyes's level of stupidity and something Klopp was laughed at on this very forum.

I will not lower my expectations because the American leeches are running this club into the ground.

Did he really said that? So we are all in winning second half's and measuring opponents celebrations now?

Rashford has struggled with his back his entire career. He has played loads the last couple of months and he got a big knock that resulted in an injury. Again, the medical staff's job is to evaluate players. If he was at high risk of a long term injury he would not even be training, never mind playing. Yes, they knew he struggled a bit and Ole fecked up by playing him, but most of all the medical staff fecked up by not realizing the seriousness of his injury

Its really the same as the Pogba injury. Before Rochdale we know he had scans of his ankle and they declared him fit to play, resulting him aggravating his injury and being out for months.
Under no circumstances should a player not fit enough play a football match. If it's recommended for any player to take a rest even if his injury isn't strong then he should take it regardless of the result match. I'm not absolving the medical stuff from the blame, however Ole had made as big of a mistake as them risking playing him and gambling on it turning out OK when it was obvious from his own words that he knew it would have been better for Rashford to take a rest for this match.

It’s embarrassing he said the same about City because they played a strong team against us.

Hes getting a kick out of teams playing against us taking the game serious? I don’t get it. Lost to City, Liverpool and Arsenal in the past 3 weeks and he comes up with ‘well at least they try hard against us, shows how far we’ve come’ bullshit.

Absolute disgrace to be honest.

I think he has done some decent things behind the scenes but he isn't going to take us any further. His man management during the games has been terrible. His subtitutions are far too late in the game to be effective. The second half was crying out for Pereira and/or James to be taken off, but he left it so late as usual.

He is crap. He's fecking useless. Look at the midfielders the teams above us have. Then look at what we have right now. There's no comparison.

I think Ole is a clever manager to be honest. His tactics were good again today. TAA and Robertson were kept quiet. We created some good situations but the quality of of the final pass or shot wasn't there.

Replace Pereira with a good player and we'd have probably scored a couple. If the club were serious about winning games Bruno would have been there today. But they aren't. So Ole has to try and make do with players like Pereira and Lingard.

And then get told his tactics and coaching are to blame when they inevitably aren't good enough. Attacking midfielders that can't pass or shoot. Hows that supposed to work? Pogba is the only midfielder in the squad who can pass the ball forward. And hes been injured all season.

Fred has a middle aged man beside him and people wonder how teams can walk through our midfield. I'm sick of having to make this point again and again. We've the youngest team in the league and have no midfield. Barring set pieces I'm not sure what Ole and the lads are supposed to be doing wrong here.
But it also means that when we get the AM, an upgrade to Matic and maybe someone to support Rashford when he’s injured, we may start to get way better results, and probably look completely different. Ideally someone who can shift the transition shape to a more offensive one for the Matic replacement.

He’s also been our most successful manager in the last 7 years.

Lukaku has gone to Inter and a top scorer in Europe.

Pogba was in the team of the year last season and when he moves will he regarded as one of the best players in the world.

Fred was MOTM today.

Zlatan has been our best signing in the last 7 years.

Van Gaal was far more damaging than Mourinho’s signings.

When SAF left, there was a misconception (and some still practice this cognitive error) that his results could be replicated if a good enough leader was put in his place and good enough players were bought. But the departure of SAF disrupted the whole concept of the club. Everything Manchester United has accomplished in the last 30 years is built around SAF. It cannot be replicated.
Changing coaches every 12 months only deepens the agony and delays the return to the paths of glory.

Ole is very successful considering the resources at his disposal and the OBJECTIVE he was given. Painful cuts are needed. It takes vision and direction :) and I couldn't care less about the winning percentages or stat X or stat Y. Why? Because I watch all the games and I can see progress. When we are good we are BETTER than any game under previous 3 managers. PERIOD. Is this the acceptable and desired end product? Of course not. But we are closer to where we aspire to be (and believe it is our god given right), then we were since SAF left.

There is still a looong way to go. I am more than happy to give Ole the summer transfer window and than re-evaluate his impact in the winter.

There's a level of stupidity involved alright.

In actually thinking he said that. Good lord.

Yeah, you're right. I've edited my comment to clarify but will leave it there, so it's clear what the context is... I feel almost as embarrased as our manager should feel after today.

Maguire is a very good defender.
I am not slagging Maguire (although I think he is short of the very top level of a Ferdinand, Vidic, Terry or van Dijk). I just don’t feel the need to praise Ole as some DoF in waiting because he landed Maguire for a world record fee.

EDIT: Just watched the interview and he never said that. I apologise for the error. I usually check things like that but given what he's said in recent times, I genuinely thought it was legit...
Dont know what's worse. The fact that you believed the meme quotes or the fact that someone below you was already trying to defend them

Of course. I've wanted the guy gone for months. It's not reactionary, it's based on looking at our performances (not even results) and how he's clearly way out of his depth.

However, your reactionary someone-made-a-genuine-mistake-so-they-are-an-idiot is not hypocritical at all. What a bunch of nonsense.

No, one person's genuine mistake is demonstrative of the sort of extreme reaction quotes on twitter provoke in people. Very lightweight thinking mg in my opinion, but you engage with whoever you like it's not my place to stop you
