Of course so far the highlight of the season was Donyell Malen (https://www.redcafe.net/threads/donyell-malen.450551/) performance against Vitesse yesterday.

Ajax and PSV have played so far 5 games and both have 4 wins + 1 draw.

Our EL opponent Alkmaar is on the 4th place with 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss.....they have won 5-1 against Sparta Rotterdam yesterday.

Oh and no yellow card or sent-off for Lee Cattermole in his first start for Venlo against Groningen :)

Good thing no one here cares about the Eredivisie. So the fact that this is the 1st time in 154 editions that Ajax is 4-0 up against Feyenoord at half time is irrelevant here.

Jaap Stam might actually be the worst trainer in the history of football.

Has little to do with Stam imo.
I'd say the influence of a coach is vastly overrated in the football world. About 90% of them are simply the equivalent of that drunk loitering around your local amature team on a saterday, but in a more expensive suit. The only thing they do, is keep the spoiled cnuts from murdering each other and make sure they do their best.

Jaap Stam has managed to sap all spirit, form and seemingly, will to live from his players. He also does things like sub on Narsingh when an opponent is ahead and lying back in defense, which is pretty much the only possible action that is even dumber than buying Narsingh in the first place. Hell, he wasn't even able to finish the degree to be a football trainer without a special trajectory, and seeing the clowns with these diploma's I strongly doubt it's rocket science. And I should know, because I work with rocket scientists.

Either way, his fault or not, Feyenoord are 14th and if something like this happens, you axe the fecking trainer.

PS: He also has shite hair

PPS: congrats on winning the league

Anyone can shed some light on Alkmaar? Comfortably winning against Eindhoven by 4 goals is impressive. They have a number of good young players.

AZ are good this year but PSV had a few important players out and a red card. So while it was a good win by AZ, it's not entirely out of the blue.

Jaap Stam has resigned as Feyenoord manager after only seven months
He wasn't here for 7 months. Feyenoord announced he would succeed Gio 7 months ago. I think he start in July or something. So more like 3 months. The 2nd shortest tenure as Feyenoord manager in history.

Ajax outrules the Eredivisie right now.. I guess the best Ajax since 1995? Kinda sad but this is the only reason I want the BeNe Liga to process. Hope there will be other teams who can keep up with them or else it was be a sad and boring competition.

The nordic folks tried it and it massively failed (RIP Royal League). But you can learn with their mistakes. All you have to do is when starting the BeNe league is to shut down both belgian and dutch premier leagues and should be no problem. It would be a stronger league no doubt.

Come on mate, maybe wait until you win 7 titles in a row before declaring this. This was yer first league title in 5 years. Who knows where your players are in 3 years.

Thats what they plan to do. They wanna shut both of the leagues and create 2 BeNe ligues. 1 high tier and 1 low tier. The winner of the low tier goes to the high tier and vice versa. Thats what I understood.

I know but if they keep processing in the CL, the gap will only be larger (cash). So even if they sell the best players they can buy other great players with the cash.

The performance against Utrecht was insane. Lucky it wasnt 12-0 at halftime.

I don't follow Eredivisie, but usually check the major highlights every Monday. I really got my eyes on Donyell Malen. he's still raw, but I think there is good potential on him.

Glad to see Stengs recovering his career. Very good season he's doing.

The best part in those highlights is that no one is going for glory and instead chooses to pass it to player who'll have better chance of conversion. Basically they play as a team and not as individual.

Some Dutch media outlets clamoring for Steven Berghuis to be banned from the national team for his horrible conduct in last week's game against RKC. And they wonder why people think football is for pussies.

If anything, you should ban the fecking keeper.

Granted Berghuis is a bit of a tit, who's prone to losing his head, but to pick this to crucify the guy? No one wanted to boycot Wouters after he nearly killed Gazza, we loved him for that.

Bit of context would be nice.

Made a couple really stupid and really hard fouls out of frustration. Koeman talked to him about it and even spoke to the media about it. Had to stop. Feyenoord made him captain because they hoped he'd stop doing stupid things like this. Two games in...this. And yes, Koeman had to speak to him again.

point is. No, he didn't hit him hard. But it's soooooo dumb. And the things he said in the interview afterwards were even more stupid.

Yes, he's prone to losing his head, I said that. The media outrage is a bit disproportionate though.

Also, where did you hear Advocaat made him cpt. to stop this stuff? He just wants to make him feel important.

Anyway, Berghuis isnt good enough for the national team which makes him an easy target. Unlike Wouters or Kluivert or Nigel de Jong.

Rene Meulensteen's son Melle (20-year old CB) has scored his third of the season for RKC Waalwijk.

First defeat of the season for Ajax as Willem II beat them 2-0 in Amsterdam. AZ has a chance to reduce the gap to 3 points tomorrow.

Dutch football followers: Theoritecally - Could/would Jong Ajax accept the spot in Eredivisie if they got promoted, considering they are the reserve team of Ajax?
