It's not a popular opinion, so i'll whisper it, but the club have actually managed to get a good deal here.

Credit where it's due? :nervous:
we paid mostly what Lisbon wanted which in turn was a fair price.

So you're saying swapping him in for Perriera/Lingard/Mata won't be a very noticeable improvement?
To be fair the bar is very low. We will se whether he is a £50m improvement over these or is like Maguire.

He played in the Premier League though. And made the fastest hattrick in PL history.
But still, Liverpool was the only team willing to pay that much. That was pre-Neymar era though, today that would cost 60 million pounds.
Pretty much the case here.

Liverpool should be wary that nobody else was interested.

Fred - Bruno and Pogba. No more excuses.
Does this work in a midfield three? I've been thinking this myself, I think it could.

All three seem to be able to take the ball under pressure and could link well, all three like to play the ball forwards as well. If we can teach our front three to continually and reliably run in behind defences it could be tasty.

Great signing if true - instantly gravitates our midfield.

The guy is a legend on my FM save ;)

Fernandes, Fernandes,
Come United? He said feck yes,
Scores screamers from 30 yards,
No more playing Lingard.

Crazy how the dynamics can change with a signing and a couple of returns from injury. We go from Matić, Pereira and Lingard to Fred, Pogba and B.Fernandes it’s like a different team.

Alright. Figured it was likely a shortening I didn't know about or autocorrect, since I've seen a few people use it. :p
Liable is a completely separate word that means either likely to do something, or in legal terms, legally responsible or answerable by law. So you probably saw some people use it correctly! :)

No, no. I knew that. I've probably just read them write it when drugged and assumed they wanted to say reliable. It's why I figured it was time to ask someone if it was a shortening.

He won't be cup tied for Europa league will he?I'm sure there is a rule change this season that allows you to play for 2 clubs.

I think it will work as Fred is a very good destroyer whilst Bruno has all the attributes to provide energy with Fred whilst being fare better on the ball. Pogba is just Pogba. Providing we aren’t restricting him to play deep of a two we should over run every midfield bare the top teams where more discipline would be required. But then McTominay can fill in for those games.

Delighted we've signed him.

If he can contribute half the numbers he got in Portugal we'll have a proper player.

No more Pereira now hopefully, how many chances does someone need to show their not good enough?

If we could somehow get a striker in on a short term deal it wouldn't be a bad window.

All this "Tier 1, Tier 2" stuff is one of the worst things to have ever happened to the Caf and I include all the times Weaste posted pictures of himself in a frock.

Not sure how anyone can say it's a bad deal, money wise, if he plays anything like he plays at Sporting the initial price is a bargain in todays market, and if we are required to pay the bonuses well, that means we'll have won the Champions League or he will have won the Ballon d'Or in what would probably be a successful season for us, its a great price..
The doubts in this line is the basis for what you mentioned in your opening statement.

As much as I liked his recent form, I still think Fred is abit of a weak link especially against the more physical sides.

And if we're playing Fernandes and Pogba, with the later willing to stay, alongside Fred that could be slight offensive overload.

We need someone with a good defensive head on their shoulders, imo. Someone to keep it simple, reads the game well,is composed and has a impeccable use of the ball.
Fred still gives the ball away cheaply.

Now we just need to find that player, though I feel Liverpool's Fabinho would've been perfect for this role but alas.
