I'm actually really quite excited for Pogba leaving and starting afresh with the cash and the chance to get in more of the right kind of players for Man Utd.
Id still like to try and slot him in somewhere. Could maybe play a diamond with Bruno as a false 9 and martial and Rashford up top. He’s also a good backup :wenger: for Bruno when we want to play in our current formation

    1. McTominay is underrated in his passing. It was said that he merely only passed sideways and backwards; then it was said that his forward passing was ok; not only is he incredibly crisp in his passing, but he often sees the lesser obvious pass, is constantly moving the ball forward and has great weight of pass also.

    2. Fernandes is absolutely top class. He's a special talent. Always with the first time pass, superb first touch, no space so tight he can't maneuver in, and his vision is fantastic. That pass from the right when he pinged it into feet for Ighalo was exemplary of that. Something so simple, but so effective. It's the kind of pass Keane used to make often. Hard, low and to feet.

    Brilliant first half.

Bruno Fernandes is dominating game after game, and the best thing is he doesn’t look like he’s breaking sweat. He’s got the game on a string. We look a confident team, we dominate, we create chances. Turning up with Bruno has made these United players feel like they’re 10 feet tall.

Ighalo is taking up the very basic positions required from a CF. Just positioning yourself correctly for hold up play, for poacher goal chances, creates a much better structure For us to attack from. We look like we’ve got a presence in the box. Martial, is scoring goals, but he comes too far out of the box, out wide, and when he’s in the box, he has no presence, he doesn’t hold the ball up, he doesn’t move into poacher positions like Ighalo did. I’d prefer to see Martial in the Rashford position/James position in the long term.

Still, there must be a bit of criticism - Daniel James was relatively poor compared to the rest of the team.

It's like San Francisco in the early 90's, so many positives.

Fernandes looks magnificent, just unbelievable how good he is. Why did he last through the summer at Sporting,

McTominay brings an extra gear to our midfield, and is more likeble with this haircut.

Mata is in sync with Fernandes, playing very well.

And Ighalo has got his goal, I suspect it will be the first of many here.

The one touch passing and the speed we’ve moved the ball around have been the real plus for me today. That coupled with determination to get the ball back as quickly as possible. I know it’s only Brugge but when we play like this, as we have against most of the top 6 this year, we’re tough to beat. We just have the extra benefit of a Bruno who can do that final bit. Decent performance so far, more in the second please.

Most entertaining half we’ve played in ages. No slight on Martial but it makes such a difference playing with a striker who repeatedly takes up the correct spaces. Makes those runs around him so much more intuitive and effctive.
And on top of that, it opens up spaces for his teamates giving them more opportunities to do something with the ball.

I agree. He needs to stop being so nervous all the time. Wheres that energy we fell in love with?

Yes Ighalo is a round peg in a round hole. More of those would be great. Martial needs to become that at centre forward too.

It is the Bruno fernandes show.

Mata, james just pass it back and keep it safe. fernandes tries to make things happen.

    Igalo very good too.
Mata and James most certainly do not just look to pass it back. It's about not giving up possession if it's tight.

Bruno is class though. Players like him are a one off. Like Scholes, find space when it seems unlikely

That first half was very enjoyable. Fernandes having a huge stamp on this game. I feel like most of the food things we've done have come through him. 2 penalties in a row now. Hopefully we've finally found someone we can settle on for that.

Happy for Ighalo to get his first goal. Was a very nice move for that goal. Fernandes, Mata and Ighalo all did well. Nice strike by McTominay for the 3rd too.

My only complaint so far is, why the feck did it take so long to confirm that red card? Surely its clear as day upon first replay that its deliberate and denying a goalscoring chance? I was half expecting it to be overturned when it went on so long.

It'll be hilarious if Lingard comes on for Bruno and scores a couple now :lol:

Enjoy the game, why you guys gotta complain about something when we're playing well.

Our midfield players are trying out more agressive passes as well, whether it's Fred or Scott. That's good to see.

Thing I like about the second goal is, it doesn't matter that it's Brugge, if you play a ball like that and make a run like that, there's not much the opposition can do about it

For the longest time ever they acted like football snobs telling us we didn't know anything about football because we couldn't understand Lingard's movement and what it brings.

    "Top managers play him." Etc
I remember a 'you dont understand football because you dont see it'

The world class off the ball movement
