The opening pages of this thread haven't aged well.
To be fair his first month was fairly poor. A 1-0 defeat at Swansea and a 3-2 defeat to West Brom weren’t great starts. We were a mess at the back in the West Brom game.

If we didn’t have Alisson we would’ve conceded a couple on Saturday, so Van Dijk is a part of a greater whole at the moment.

What a surprise. VVD’s agent has been a busy boy passing stories to the press

He makes a lot of mistakes for a player that many consider to be in the same tier as the likes of Ferdinand, Terry, Vidic, Campbell etc. Poor for both goals and had a stinker vs Madrid as well

:houllier: He'll end his career with less premier league medals than Robert Huth and Chris Smalling.

No he won't, he's already proved he's top class. He's been with us for 2 years now & produced the goods game after game after game. Do you honestly believe that's some sort of fluke & one day he'll transform into a Phil Babb ? You guys called us delusional for years. The shoe seems to be on the other foot now.
He’s an excellent player who has and will win relatively little

Maybe it could be just me but I have noticed how many 50/50 decisions go in his favour, whenever he is out-muscled the ref gives a free kick in his favour.

He's Liverpools Kompany. surprised he avoided any criticism for injuring Deulofeu, just trying to be the big man with that challenge and used excessive force.

I thought it was a foul in all honesty.

Fantastic defender and one of the better defenders in the Premier League history.

He wasnt great against Watford but he is just taking it easy since Liverpool already won the league. He just wants to be 100% fit to captain the Netherlands to a European Championship during next summer!

Seems to have made quite a few errors this season.
Not really. Been our best player yet again this season.

This is just petty jealousy being egged on because people have had to wait yonks for him to have a poor game to voice their complaints.

Because we aren't used to to it. Football is way less fun today than last week. I don't understand why we didn't just win like we do every week.

I don't need to thanks. But you maybe need to look at stopping to trying to pass your opinions off as facts.

He’s an excellent player who has and will win relatively little
Part factual.

He has unquestionably won very little. We will see how his final tally stacks up against the true greats of the PL era.

Anyway, go and watch your team. They need all the support they can get.

Lose against Chelsea and your season is deflating at an unreal rate.

Imagine being the most dominant team in Premier League history and ending up with 1 trophy for the season.

I hardly think they care.. they havent won the league in forever and are winning the league this year. Winning the league is their obsession. The only thing that could deflate their seison is to not win the league. Something that is near impossible although it would be the funniest thing to have ever happend. Even funnier than the slip

Was at fault for the Barkley goal, went to win the ball rather than get back into position. Poor play.

They're about to win their first league in 30 years and some of their fans are on here letting themselves get wummed out of it. Clowns.

It's like our cleansheet record, we were good, but also super lucky to keep it going as long as it did but as soon as we conceded once, we were basically conceding every single game afterwards for months.
