I can get sometimes ref don't get clear visual from angle and misjudge the situation. But then that's the whole reason why VAR exists.
According to Lee Dixon, VAR can only intervene if the ref has made a clear and obvious error.

This. Referees who get overruled by VAR receive bad grades and as a result can lose bonuses too. I am not inventing it, a french ref said it on a radio station
give the var a bonus for a good call... lets see how loyal they will be to the ref in that case

Looked a pen but balanced out as i didnt think it was a foul on Bruno which lead to our goal... no sweat. swings and roundabouts. Just keep playing well please. City’s defence is dodgy as feck.

It's because they think for you to be the best team you have to dominate games. It should show his tactical ability that he can manage these games and get wins even when the other team dominate possession.

Had Martial laid the ball off to Bruno, James done better with his chance and we gotten the penalty and it would likely be 4-0 then this would be one of the best performances this season from any team. Unfortunately we haven't taken them all, so it could be an edgy second half despite the performance. Ole can't be blamed for that.
New to football aren’t you? You will find that footballers miss chances, alot of them. All football games have moments where you can go what if from the armchair. Dwelling on all these will ruin the game for you.

Fred makes a move with the ball and is passed it. Otamendi tried to go for the ball, misses, hacks Fred and somehow not enough contact. Unbelievable

If Fred gets a second yellow it will be nightmare. He must be careful and not as effective in duels in midfield.

Scott will help but still. Clear and obvious error!

Michael Owen has gone down for nudges on his fecking shoulder and he’s talking about Fred playing for it when he’s been clipped. Feck off you scouse bastard. He stole a medal playing for United and has been a miserable bastard ever since.

It's pathetic isn't it mate? Some of the fans on here just want to moan. City have had one shot, we have had seven, four on target. Should've had a penalty. Winning tackles all over the pitch.

Seriously baffled why people here moan so much.
I keep saying it. Unless we win 4-0 without the opposition having any shots, Ole needs to be sacked according to many very bad posts on redcafe.

Can Richards feck of?!?! Biased prick
There’s literally no point in him being on TV. He wouldn’t give United any credit on match of the day and asking him to give his opinion on the derby is a fecking waste of time.

He was asked about Grealish going to United the other week and said he shouldn’t go to United.

    He’s fecking obsessed.

Half time pundits are poor. Ok the Bruno foul was soft but he’s come from the back of him and caught him. Soft but is a foul.

How Richards can sit there and say Fred is theatrical. He got kicked in the shin. Blatant penalty. VAR can be so strange at time.
oh is that who the prat is... another one who's defending skills make otamendi look good

Fair enough, but that yellow could screw us over.

This. It wasn’t even remotely theatrical.

It’s the kind of pen that when it’s given, you see one replay and think “yeah 100%”. Can’t believe VAR didn’t spend longer looking at it.

Not to mention we have actually pinned them in for long periods.

What does that comment have to do with anything I've said?

VAR says insufficient contact to go down. fecking cnuts are making excuses to cover for a shocking decision.
That's an insane excuse. The rules state contact=foul. How can they be so sure that the contact never impeded Fred? They are mind readers now?

I don't even know why it's being debated. Otamendi kicked him in the box clear as day. It's crazy.

Michael Owen on my stream saying Fred played for it, it's slight contact and probably not a penalty. fecking thick piece of shit.
Guy won a pl title with us yet I get the impression that he doesn't like us whenever I watch his punditry. Not as bad as Hargreaves though.

This is a poor take. Matic has been good. He's had some really good interceptions and he's protecting the CBs quite well.

    Agree on Dean, though.
Nope when defending. He's so slow to everything: closing, tackling, anticipating. He's good passer though.

Good half, we need to be smarter with the ball when trying to keep possession particularly from our defenders i.e Shaw. I can see City getting a goal if we fail to clear the ball or play it simple and holding it for too long.

I'm actually really proud of the way we have improved our attack as time has progressed.

We dealt with the injuries to our best two players really well. Credit must go to OGS and his staff no matter what happens in the remainder of this match.

The potential is there to see. Imagine any other side losing their best two players and putting in a performance like this.

He’s so full of shit, I bet he wouldn’t say that if it was a Liverpool player.

    It’s bollocks

They are getting their story straight to excuse an awful decision

People would have more respect if they just admitted error

If thinking Fred dived when actually there is clear contact is not a "clear and obvious error" then I don't know what is.
If Mike Dean had not booked Fred, they could have said that maybe he saw the contact but felt there wasn't enough contact. You can't book someone for diving because there wasn't enough contact.
