Great result we need those 3 pts. However this game was about prestige. Thought we were brilliant in the first half and going in with a 2 goal lead wouldn't have been an injustice. When we were on 60 mins they started to control the game. We desperatly needed fresh legs. McT should have come on earlier. Can't understand why Ighalo didn't replace Martial. We sat back and allowed them to come at us. Seemed like Ole set us up for that. We rode the storm but for me it wasn't good tactics. I was an Ole doubter. I think we should back him now and I'm happy he's our manager. That said I didn't like his tactics later on in the game today but we won and that's the main thing.

I thought we were great today all round. For all the possession they had they rarely looked a threat. We looked like scoring every time we went forward with purpose.

Hmm.
Who would you drop. Matic, Fred. Both playing extremely well and working very hard.
Big decision that.
Gotta drop Fred for getting a yellow card for simulation:lol:

It’s a good question. Pogba has work to do to break into this side.

Cracking game, the players, tactics, everything was spot on.

I can’t wait to see Rashford and Pogba added to this group.

At least once, maybe two times James should have passed the ball instead of shooting.

Very satisfying performance and important to keep pressure on Chelsea after their emphatic win today. Solskjaer got it spot on and I'm now believing we can actually get top four for the first time in a long time. The Bruno assist was sensational.

If only Martial was able to tap in that Ederson blunder, the scenes that would have caused.

I think Ole knew we had to solve the problem on the left of the defence (Bailly on for Williams, Shaw shifted left) and also needed to reinforce the midfield (McTominay on for Martial). The question regarding the second substitution was really all about which of Martial or James would provide the most likely out ball for the defence, and he went with James (which I think was the right call).

Later on, it was clear that Bruno was not really able to affect the game in an attacking sense, and that having a more physical presence could be useful, hence the switch with Ighalo (who did really well in his brief cameo). That substitution could perhaps have been made a little bit sooner, but maybe Ole thought that Bruno still had one assist in the locker.

I think Ole got just about everything right today, and it looks like the players are very happy working with him.

Two gif requests:

AWBs footwork in weaving through 2 defenders at the edge of their box

Ighalo's Mata-like first touch from a de Gea goal kick

Yes everything was spot on today. What is this domination some people are talking about?
It's what you do with the possession that matters. For all their possession they did feck all. We should have been 3-0 up in the first half.

I’ve been Pogba’s biggest supporter. He’s a great talent, gets unfairly criticised by the pundits BUT I’m starting to wonder regardless of his undoubted world class quality would adding him into our starting 11 unbalance us, would his indifference to certain games ruin the teamwork?

Closest example I can think of Neymar at PSG, they seemed to have clicked as a team and then Neymar returned and they lost something collectively.
