Solskjaer on Rashford
"I think it's an honour to have Marcus, and what he's done during the lockdown has been unbelievable.

"He can help so many kids, he's just shown he's taken from his own experience when he was a kid and knows how much it feels, what it means and we as a club are proud of him to be a top footballer, but also a fantastic human being. A future captain, leader, Manchester United, England, who knows... we're really proud of him and his family must be."

More on Rashford
"As his manager as well it's been fantastic to follow Marcus during the lockdown period, we got the Prime Minister to change his mind but also what he's done over the last months, Marcus is such a top, top human being, brought his own experiences and changed the lives of so many kids, he's already been captain of the club and he's proving all the time his human qualities and his qualities as a player of course."

Solskjaer on Tottenham
"It's a great game, a big game against one of the best teams in the league, Champions League finalists less than a year ago.

"Hard game, prepared as well as we can, we've had a couple of in house 11 v 11s and one 11 v 11 vs West Brom, which will hopefully stand us in good stead. We're young, they look fit and ready and we'll see tomorrow night."

Rashford the most popular man in the country?
"Yes, what Marcus has done has been incredible with his family, with his own personality, Marcus has always been a great human being, coming up through the academy, the club recognise that early on, gave him chances, the talent, but you need to be a human being to come all the way.

He's changed the lives of so many kids this summer which is more important than any game he'll play.

So hopefully he can keep both sides going as well as he is doing now."

Football's role in wider social change
"I feel now maybe this time finally is changing and it's been on the agenda now for many many years.

"This issue of racism and we've had a couple of instances, talked about it, maybe forgotten about it, but this time hopefully it will affect more people, leaders of countries and decision makers, but we all support the actions."

Rashford achievement even more incredible given his young age
"Me at 22 of course I wouldn't be in a position to effect change like this.

"I don't think Marcus thought about this politically or in any other way than helping people and kids, and he knows deep inside he's helped children with food and to change their lives and it makes him feel good about himself and as a role model, a top player he effects people in a good way, it's not about him or anything like that.

It's up to every individual of course and footballers.

As a group they've been criticised a lot, this lockdown period has made a change in people and made them think about larger issues and different perspective, and for Marcus he's always been a good lad and the change he's made is unbelievable, but as footballers we are easy targets at different times, but we can also affect people in a good way.

If you can use your face to change something for the better then why not."

Taking the knee before kick-off
"It's been an event in history that's changed people's views and the movement now we all know this shouldn't happen in 2020 and players, Premier League teams, we all make a stand and say enough's enough, that's good and I don't expect anything different from ours."

Odion Ighalo update
"We're delighted Odion is staying with us, we had a good conversation with his club and he's made a great impact, very pleasing, another option, he's a goalscorer, in and around the dressing room he's great.

Angel Gomes update
"With Angel, he's a top kid we've had at the club for so many years. We've offered him a deal and hopefully he'll take that and if not I wish him all the best.

From what I understand it's not too far away, if not we'll wish him all the best."

Team news for Tottenham fixture
"We have two players probably Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe who will miss this game and the start, let's see how bad, but they are apart from that rest of the squad is fit and available.

If selected Marcus and Paul have been out for a long long period, but they're available so how long they're going to play for, let's see."

Solskjaer on the extra substitute rule
“It depends on the games, I think three subs is the right amount and changing the whole five of them will probably happen because we have to look after the players after long period out.

The Premier League is intense, physically and straight into a season after as well, it’s a good option for us not to get any unnecessary injuries, we have to look after them and take care of them.”

If memory serves Pogba usually has a great match after an extended injury period. It happened this last December, twice in previous seasons. I'm expecting a big game from him.

Think Ole might bring Paul from the bench for 2 reasons.

1. Take the spotlight off him and the team, if we lose and Pogba started there will be a lot of negative attention to that.

2. He's not played 90 mins for a long time and might be better to bring him on as a game changer. 30 mins here and 60 against Sheffield later. It's also going to be a tough midfield battle so maybe the legs of Mctominay/Fred will be better to start with.

Either way we have fantastic options.

Seems a pretty clear message. Sign the contract or feck off.

I think he's hinting there that neither Rashford or Pogba will start.

Probably safest - plus he has 5 subs to play with. Can see how we settle vs Spurs before putting them on.

Could also just be mind games.

He's leaving both options available with that answer, but I think Paul would understand that he needs to work his way back into a winning team.

This is going to be a tough match and not one we are expected to walk over.

Can't see Rashy not starting unless he's coming straight from a long day of meetings at Westminster.

That's not exactly what you'd say if you really believed in a player's talent and wanted to do your best to persuade him to stay. The staff obviously see a lot of shortcomings in him, and that's just unfortunate.

Think he is pointing out Pogba has played 8 games in the last 12 months. Will definatley take more adjustments than those who were fully fit less than 4months ago.

I would love Pogba to start, also fully expect him to for a good 60 min, but would be completely understandable if we don't run that risk. Last thing we need is for him to pick up an injury first game back.

 fair point - I obviously meant it's been a lot longer for him than the rest.

His body might take a bit of time adjusting to match fitness again but hopefully he's fit and raring to go, certainly seems happy from the training pics/photos.

If you believed in a player and believe you've already done your best to persuade him, you could still say that at the end of the process.

Strangely quiet in here. Have they all given up giving out about everything the man says?
