 why? Season hasn't ended in any of the top leagues and transfer windows haven't opened . We will be linked with a thousand players over the summer and probably sign 2 or 3 who knows . Relax and enjoy the ride .
I'm talking about Sancho and Bellingham... both certainly look not to really want to come to us

I just don't get supporting a club and being so constantly negative about said club? What's the point! Where's the pleasure.

To honestly think Sancho has shown no excitement in coming to us and there's nothing in it is so purposefully ignorant and weird.

that's what it looks like to me - Belingham to Dortmund and Sancho... not sure but can't say he has expressed excitement at coming to us
 how do you know he's not excited? what player EVER expresses excitement until they've actually signed?

It's just your opinion as a cup half empty person.

How do you know this? Have you been chatting with him regularly? He’s obviously not going to say anything about signing for another club when he’s contracted to Dortmund.

Every credible report I’ve seen emphasizes that he’s open to joining but the issue is Dortmund and the fee.

I don’t think we’ll get many leaks before the season is over.

Yep what players shows excitement before a deal is done?

It’s also not even true! If you’re looking for clues, he has sipped the water, he liked that tweet, pretty sure he follows most of our players online and is clearly good mates with the English lads.

Yeah that 'something' he saw started on a Reddit sub called Muppetiers. You lot can all relax.
They get things right but also get things wrong too, whatever they say I still maintain he will be our player later this summer.

I certainly wouldn't compare it to the Bellingham situation where the noise about us signing him has never been as positive.

Yeah they do, and I reckon we get him as well. But if you're going to say you've heard something you should share the source?

The only reason I hadn't shared the source because I wasn't entirely sure if the info was meant to be given out elsewhere.

Please give me good news... I'm suffering from NNS, contracted through this forum. Positive transfer news is the only cure.

People used to post Reddit shite on here every day, is that stuff banned for this window or something? Personally I like all the reddit crap, I'm not on reddit (or any form of social media) so like to get a flavour of the madness right here on the caf. :D

I will happily post stuff from there providing it isn't banned and people are actually interested in it

I love all of this stuff because it's hilarious.

Basically it's not even an itk thing really, it's an assumption based on previous media cycles we've had around Bruno and Maguire transfers.

While I would love to have Sancho playing for us and hopefully winning trophies I have this niggling little worry in the back of my mind. What if we don't make CL and Chelsea make a move? Sancho is a London boy and a lifelong Chelsea supporter, could the chance to play for them be too hard to resist? Till this deal is signed, sealed and delivered I think I won't be convinced he will join.

Dortmund is an interesting place for a young players in the last 10y.
I watch a lot of their games since late 90s when they won CL.

Sahin- that guy was a wizard in the middle, at one moment he was top 3 midfielders in the world, went to Madrid, he wasnt the same player anymore

Kagawa- playmaker i havent seen in Dortmund since Rosicky, he was just astonishing. Went to United, his career was "over"...

Gotze- he was just incredible for a 19 year old kid, so mature in decisions, great techique, solid pace..Went to Bayern, mah...

Dembele- to be honest, i have never seen such a talent, maybe in Mbappe, that guy was a mix of ex CR, Bale and Ronaldinho all in 1, he was mocking with defenders in BuLi. Went to Barca, i dont know what happened to him..

Miki- Amazing stats in Shakthar for 1 midfielder, he continued that in Dortmund.. Went to United, its like he forgot how to play..

Only Lewy left and his career remained the same.. Gundogan was good and Auba, but Auba left to play for a weaker team than Dortmund, never understood that decision..

Its like Dortmund is a magical, but at the same time cursed place for player career.

And here we come to the topic: JADON SANCHO..

I watched him a lot, he looks special i agree, but in big games its like he isnt on the pitch and that worries me when i think of Premier league where you have big games every second game, the league that is more physical and more faster..

Do you remember Depay?

He was freaking good at PSV and i assure you he would be a beast at Dortmund also, but... In Premier League, he wasnt that good...
I dont say Sancho will be a fail like him, but i am not 100% sure he will be that good like now..

I’m guessing with Add-Ons the deal looks likely? No way else would we pay €130m or be considered a serious option?

Yes I agree - you also have Christian Pulisic who hasnt settled in at Chelsea yet.

We do need to be very cautious paying big money for Sancho.

Pulisic was nowhere near as good at Dortmund either and has managed a hattrick in the PL.

1 player doing well elsewhere is never any guarantee - but he's English lets not forget that. He's quick and agile and can dribble as good as anybody, I fail to see how he won't be successful here.

And Not to mention Sancho wasn't somebody plucked out of obscurity he was always highly rated and tipped for big future.

I guess time will tell, not saying he won't be successful but I don't think he is a sure thing as many have suggested.

Time will tell if he does come as I have full trust in our scouts and manager given our success rate with our signings since Ole took over

What do you have reservations about?

It's not like he hasn't performed in the CL either. I remember he absolutely bossed Barcelona in the Camp Nou and scored a lovely goal, looked the best player on the pitch for 45 minutes.

The thing is with him is he doesn't actually rely on his pace or running which people like Depay did to begin with. He plays much more like Eden Hazard who's all about quick combinations and 1 - 2 passes, but if he needs to he can beat his man inside or outside also.

I genuinely have no fears that if he joined us he would be great. We actually have a balanced team full of threats now too, Rashford left, Bruno/Pogba centre and Sancho on the right no teams could double mark us anymore. We desperately need that key man on the right to take advantage of all the space we get given that side.

You can add Hummels to that list. That could be a bit controversial though.

For young players, Dortmund is a unique proposition, where they can be always challenging for the title with much less pressure and scrutiny than say La Liga or EPL where playing for the top 2 teams invite all kind of press attention.

Also, Dortmund as a team has a cohesive playing system, may be that is why the likes of Sahin, Dembele, Mkh all wilt under pressure when they were signed as marquee players by other teams/leagues.

Hoping Jadon turns out to be legitimate World class player in case we sign him though.

I mentioned this a few times recently so don't want to repeat too much, the amount of space he's given in the bungelisa can't be underestimated, also the fact that he is right footed so playing in the same role in the PL would be much harder to cut in and hold onto to the ball down the right flank...I want the player to do a similar role as Salah for Liverpool who is instrumental to initiate their attacking transitions down their right flank but of course I am not expecting he will ever reach his level.

As I have said if our scouts and manager think he is good enough then I have full faith in their decision however I won't be overly disappointed if we do not end up with him.
