We'll have a better front 3 than Pool if we end up signing Sancho and we already have a better midfield than them. We'll surprise a lot of people next season IMO, we're still flying under the radar.
Rashford and Sancho are at least a level below Mane and Salah right now, the only thing they have over them is youth with high potential

How many goals a season do you think Sancho is capable of getting for us?
I don’t think he’ll produce the numbers he’s done in the Bundesliga but you buy him for his ability to create more than his goal scoring. I’d say he’s probably good for 10 -15 goals. But it’s the assists that he brings that are the real gold mine.

Mhkitaryan assists rate were gold mine in bundesliga and we all know what happened to him after leaving Dortmund.

Sancho's output and impact would be on KDB levels. Probably not the crosses, long weighted passes, and overall work rate, but the calmness, the incisive passing in the attacking 3rd, and movement should result around 10 league goals and 15+ assists potentially.

Micky was a 1 season wonder in the Bundesliga, and already in his prime meaning he had no room to grow. Sancho is the opposite.

Comparing Mhkitaryan's numbers to what Sancho is currently doing when he's not even out of teenage years yet is so absolutely weird I can't understand any logical reason to do so.

Does he work hard as Greenwood and James defensively? If he comes here then I guess he has to do so if he wants to play with both Pogba and Fernandes at the same time.

Sancho, Rashford and Martial would be such an exciting front 3. They can each play at least 2 different positions in that front 3, giving us lots of versatility. James and Greenwood are good backups, and maybe Ighalo if we keep him on.

It really feels like he's the missing piece of the puzzle in our attack and our team in general.

That's three players who ultimately want to attack through the half spaces or even center. If Pogba and Bruno are playing you have two more players trying to occupy the same spaces. For all the individual quality I'd be afraid that teams close down the center and you'll end up watching Shaw and AWB turning out to be the players who get the space.

His defensive contribution us "inconsistent".

I think he could score and assist a similar amount in the EPL, but I don't think he will, because our fullbacks aren't anywhere close to being as good as what he's accustomed to in a attacking sense.

Rashford's basically as productive than Mane this season (Rash: 24 games - 14 goals, 7 assists Mane: 28 games - 15 goals, 9 assists), I don't think I'd call it a level below Mane. Plus Mane's playing in a settled Pool side while we had Pogba out and no Bruno basically all season. I'll back him to comfortably beat Mane's totals next season.

Sancho vs Salah is hard to say. Salah might be better currently and he'll definitely get more goals because he's such a good finisher but Sancho should be pretty close behind.

From WhoScored
Aubameyang (minutes per goal/ass)

2014/15 BL 2723 min 16 goal/6 ass (124)
2015/16 BL 2475 min 25/5 (83)
2016/17 BL 2782 min 31/2 (84)
2017/18 BL 1417 min 13/3 (89)

2017/18 PL 1058 min 10/4 (76)
2018/19 PL 2733 min 22/5 (101)
2019/20 PL 2485 min 17/1(138)

From what I can understand Arsenal created approximately 30% less goal scoring chances/90 minutes then Borussia Dortmund did in season 2017/18.

The next two seasons (18/19 and 19/20) Arsenal continued to create less chances /minute then Borussia and now when other teams knew his abilities Aubameyang’s stats started to drops significantly.

From my eye test Auba is still by far Arsenal’s best player but in a dysfunctional team it’s hard to produce good numbers on a regular basis.

I think it’s fair to expect Sancho to initially struggle a little bit in the PL with less space and more physicality. With time he will probably adjust and adapt and hopefully in 6-12 months when he’s fully integrated in his new environment he has a better chance to replicate his great numbers from playing in the Bundesliga.

Sancho has 20 goals so far this season, Rashford 19 and Martial 19. You'd expect Sancho to hit 10 easy, maybe even 15 for us next season. Between those 3, rotating in Greenwood, plus Bruno and maybe even Pogba, there's goals in the team again. Just hope we can get this one done, I wouldn't even mind if this was our only signing.

BVB did create more chances but had goal threats all over the pitch in comparison to Arsenal. Hence other players would take up the scoring baton. BVB scored goals from a number of positions in attack.

Sancho has far better fullbacks behind him at BVB in a attacking sense. First touch, technique is clearly higher on the ball with fullbacks like Hakimi. We can hope Sancho over comes the attacking defeciencies at fullback we have in comparison (Gurreiro, Hakimi) with the likes of Shaw and AWB or we can take up a proactive approach and introduce Ethan Laird into the first team fold and start to give him games due to his ability on the ball going forward.

AWB is good to have due to his defensive game. But against most teams we're expected to beat I'm hoping we start to introduce the more talented fullback on the ball in Ethan Laird.

Think from the right he'd produce something like 15 goals and 15 assists in all competitions. Guy is just really productive and would fit in perfectly. We'd have:
  • Rashford - ~20-25 goals in all comps
  • Martial - ~ 20-25 goals in all comps
  • Sancho - ~ 15 goals in all comps
  • Greenwood - ~15 goals in all competitions
  • Bruno - ~10-15 goals in all competitions
  • Pogba - ~10 goals in all competitions
Then another 10 from the rest of the attackers, 5-10 from the rest of the midfielders, maybe 5 from the set of defenders over the season, and probably close to 5 own goals through the season is pretty safe. Plenty of goals in the squad, just need to put it all together.

Anyway, shouldn't get ahead of ourselves until it's all set, but I am really optimistic that we will sign him.

Yeah that’s my thinking to, I see no reason why we won’t score over 90 goals next season.

5 of those 14 goals scored by Rashford were penalty's.

Even ignore the goals...I don't think it's even debatable who is the better player right now

A front six of Matic, Pogba, Bruno, Sancho, Martial and Rashford on paper is as good as any in the league.

I’m kind of going off the idea. If it’s true Dortmund want £117 million then I think they are barking mad. As much as he would fit in like a glove I just don’t think blowing all our budget is wise. I hope a deal can be done but unfortunately it looks like Dortmund are being greedy c****.

This will go down to the wire.

What does BvB has to do? Offer Sancho to United for 70-80M£, because of Corona? Hehe.. Guy who has 2 years left on his contract
Many United fans doesnt understand 1 thing i see : Dortmund dont want to sell him and they are saying that every day, matter of fact they will offer him a huge pay raise from 5M to almost 10M...
I am reading this forum comments and its like Sancho is already gone, he wants to go, he doesnt want to stay blah blah, i have never read 1 article where he ever said he wanna join United or he doesnt want to play in Dortmund anymore.

The only true in this whole saga is that United wants him bad and thats all...

They might want £117m but they won't be getting that figure from anyone. I could see it being £90m and a lot of add ons

Worst case scenario there are players like Sanchez coming back from loan, offer Sanchez and 85M approximately.

Sanchez would have to agree for a pay-cut though

In what scenario would Dortmund take Sanchez? Guy with abnormal salary and demands which best days are over... They just got rid of 1 similar case, Gotze.

Not too shabby, 100M upfront and 15-20 mill add-ons should be dooable.
You honestly think you could afford to spend £100 million up front? I mean I know Utd have serious cash but surely that is a stretch even for you guys.
I doubt it’ll be 100 up front.

But the Add-Ons will all be easily achievable whereby ensuring Dortmund will receive an amount totalling up to their expectation, over the course of time.

You have to wonder whether it would really be a catastrophe if we missed out on Sancho in favour of a long term attacking trio of Rashford, Martial and Greenwood. On the other hand, there would be a lot of pressure on the midfield for creativity with an attack made up of players who are predominantly goal scorers rather than goal providers.

That's a very valid point as Sancho is more of a goal provider than scorer and that would potentially give United 3 players who can create at 3 levels - Pogba at central midfield, Bruno going towards the final 3rd, and Sancho in the final 3rd.

But as some have pointed out, Sancho has a very free role playing from the right side per Dortmund/Favre's approach.

If for whatever reason Ole isn't able to coach the players effectively if all the resources are present, such as Bruno, Pogba, Rashford, Martial, Greenwood, and potentially Sancho and probably another decent playmaker or forward (better than Lingard, Pereria, James), then that's acceptable as the new manager at least has real quality pieces to work with in the attacking phase.

This is a bad way to be thinking. We need squad depth, and Martial and Rashgord have far from perfect injury records. It doesn't have to be Sancho if we can't get him, but we absolutely have to strengthen our attack. Pinning that much responsibility on an 18 year old, no matter how good he looks, is asking for trouble. What if he has a bad run of form and needs to be taken out of the firing line? It's happened to most of our other young players in the last few years.

I really like Greenwood, and I'm more confident than I've been with any of our other youngsters past or present that he'll become a top player. But let's not put too much pressure on him just yet.

Well Ighalo isn't going to be here forever so you'd expect the plan is to rotate with Martial, add Sancho to play RW and cover the left if required.

3 positions for Sancho/Martial/Rashford/James/Greenwood to cover.

I think the board will realized that having a free run at a young English player of this quality doesn't happen too often, and they'll capitalize on it.

I think it's gonna be very long drawn out painful negotiations. £100 million is a fee the Urt could just about cough up. . £120 million that Dortmund want sounds overpriced.

I dont think that will happen. AWB is one of Oles chosen signings and will be first choice for as long as Ole is here. I havent seen Laird play, but we already have a better attacking option with Dalot and he hardly plays in the league games.

It will be interesting now if Mane commits long term to Lverpool as the big boys in Spain would have to be interested and if he did go I am sure Klopp would be looking at Sancho with a sizeable warchest.

He won't spend that big. Remember it's immoral and he'd rather quit football......Oh wait!
