A bit of background on her. She's the oldest member of the squad (35) and her two understudies are both 17 year olds.

She's had 9 previous clubs - yes, you read that right - 9! That's part and parcel of the women's game really. Player contracts are generally short, clubs hit highs and lows, and as until very recently it was an amateur/semipro game, like most players she had another life running in parallel to her playing career. Wikipedia says she has a degree in Sports Science and a MSc in nutrition - and has worked as a lecturer and as a coach, so you can see what I mean about trying to fit in a day job alongside playing football.

She has 50 England caps, but has mostly been an understudy in recent tournaments so it will be interesting to see if she gets called up to the squad for the Wales match at the end of the month.

From the quotes above and what you have added here, she sounds like a real credit to the club.
 
She was great in goal for what I watched of the game, really calm and composed. Will definitely be a huge asset for the team going forward this year.
 
It's only recently that I've learnt how to pronounce this name properly, wonder if the Irish lass I worked with some time ago ever minded me absolutely butchering her name.

Its a two way street, I'm sure. Took a while to get my head around Przemyslaw!

Like other players/coaches she comments on the professionalism of the United setup.

"I've been at other big clubs before and it's not done to this level. Other clubs share the same name, badge and kit but there's a lot of separation, but I think here you feel included and that helps."

I must admit we've heard that so often now that it intrigues me. What does that actually mean in everyday terms? What are we doing or not doing compared to other clubs?
 


As to why they picked Sio rather than the current keeper, maybe the writer's a red!

It certainly helps explain why we signed Mary Earps. With Siobhan busy :D and Fran Bentley injured the squad would have looked very thin.
 
I think that is the only reason Bailly and Jones haven't yet used to stay out on paid leave
