We've been lackadaisical in the past 2 games for the opening half, and the FA didn't force DDG to have a mare today. We brought this defeat upon ourselves. What's daft is the FA.
Can't believe how lethargic our players are today.
Fs!Fitter? They've rotated a lot more and they had more rest. We've been running on empty for the last 5 games now. It's a management issue.
They play on Wednesday again, same day as us.
Same as other mistakes from the outfield players. We've been lackadaisical in the past 2 games for the opening half, and the FA didn't force DDG to have a mare today. We brought this defeat upon ourselves.
Except 4th spot trophy of course. Man, how i will celebrate that. I will be drunk all day. That seems to be the theme alright in a lot of posts ,it seems winning stuff is only a distraction in Football these days.
That’s what really sucks. Our “rotation” didn’t end up properly resting anyone.Dont care about the result. Would have preferred a proper second string team.. giving 4 of the front 5 some rest and playing at walking pace is better than nothing.
To rub more salt to the bitterness that is the moaners here in caf.Don't care about the result?. So why not go on a Chelsea forum and celebrate with them.
Because the first 11 is all we have. If we want Champions League we have no other option but to run them into the ground. Playing back-ups and rotating correctly would have us 10 points off fourth. We played Monday, Thursday Sunday. They 2 extra days and it showed.
Issue I have is why play your first team at all if they are fatigued
Of course it is!Anyone that thinks it's fitness or rest is embarrassing themselves.
We couldn't handle the press, we played a disjointed team, we could have controlled that game had we played our full strength team.
Individual mistakes and a lack of composure cost us not fitness nor tiredness.
They had 4 days rest before this one. We had 2 days. When you are playing back to back games , 2 days can make a lot of differencesince last Saturday both teams have played 3 times. 3 times in 9 days. This is an excuse. They have also constantly rotated players in these 3 games. See the Sheffield United line up where they lost 3-0. They were just better today and we played with a strange line up
I here what you are saying and at the same time, guys like Fred and Matic were rested the last game, as were James. Ighalo should be fresh. Bruno I get why he would be tired. I just think we didn't have the concentration or fleet footed ness to handle the press. Was the same vs Southampton with all our players. Palace was a bit iffy too. I never felt like we were confortable in any of those games and didn't feel we won the midfield battleYou're taking recovery time very easily. That is the most important thing for the athletes to perform to their normal capacity.
And if he did that you wouldn't be complaining about him playing a second string in the semi finals?True. But I can tell when a player needs resting. And, a whole group of them.
No we weren't. If DDG didn't let in the howler and we settled into the half with our usual formation we might well have played into it. Stop trying to blame the FA when it was just us playing shit and letting our heads down before playing even more shit.Same as other mistakes from the outfield players.
Don't matter what happens if DDG saved those mistakes, we're bound to be battered today.
We needed to balance it and sadly our team errors cost us the game, our club is supposed to compete in every competition so we cannot just simply drop gear in a semi-final so we rotated but the players didnt turn up. Any team who gifts 2 soft goals like this doesnt deserve to qualify and we got exactly what we deserved for being so lethargic.I do not mean to underplay how shocking he was, but the whole team was dreadful. Or did I miss anything? Imagine how much better it would have been losing that match with our squad+youth players, knowing that our key players were getting ready for Wednesday.
Yea that top 4 trophy is so much better than FA Cup! While we're at it let's bin the EL trophy also.I will react in a week time, if we in top 4 happy days and better than being in the FA cup final for me.
We only managed to close the gap on Leicester because they had the most spectacular, almost unimaginable, meltdown. Leicester are basically handing us the 4th place on a platter and we're about to gracefully decline it because the manager needs to win some kind of silverware to prove he's not a loser.Yeh, bad management closing the gap to Leicester and Chelsea in the most important competition, bad Ole.
Still the same amount of games over the 9 day period and tiredness is accumulated. Last season Chelsea won the Europa league and everyone said they will struggle because of the fixture list and supposed less days rest but they still finished 3rd. and beat us towards the end of the season despite the dreaded Thurs-Sun schedule. Sounds like excuses. We just weren't at it and it happens. We can blame tiredness but did you feel comfortable vs Palace? Southampton? The line up didn't help. I dont want him as a scapegoat but when I saw James start my 1st question was "why not ighalo?" none of the attackers have hold up play or a good focal point. They had 4 days rest before this one. We had 2 days. When you are playing back to back games , 2 days can make a lot of difference
I bet you never played full game of football today and played again two days after.Anyone that thinks it's fitness or rest is embarrassing themselves.
We couldn't handle the press, we played a disjointed team, we could have controlled that game had we played our full strength team.

Well, if you're comparing top 4 or the FA cup, and you had to sacrifice one for the other, it's a no brainer, surely?Yea that top 4 trophy is so much better than FA Cup! While we're at it let's bin the EL trophy also.
I couldn't be bothered if I were you, but you can check my post history. I've been banging on about this for days. Rest the fecking players. We go no quality in depth so it's a straight decision, prioritise CL qualification. And if he did that you wouldn't be complaining about him playing a second string in the semi finals?
You cannot do things you cannot do. If you have weak squad depth, you cannot challenge on multiple fronts (unless you are a genius). Whatever we're "supposed" to do, has to have connection to the real world. In this case, prioritising league games and resting players or do what Ole did.We needed to balance it and sadly our team errors cost us the game, our club is supposed to compete in every competition so we cannot just simply drop gear in a semi-final so we rotated but the players didnt turn up. Any team who gifts 2 soft goals like this doesnt deserve to qualify and we got exactly what we deserved for being so lethargic.
Muscle soreness is a real thing you know.Still the same amount of games over the 9 day period and tiredness is accumulated. Last season Chelsea won the Europa league and everyone said they will struggle because of the fixture list and supposed less days rest but they still finished 3rd. and beat us towards the end of the season despite the dreaded Thurs-Sun schedule. I dont want him as a scapegoat but when I saw James start my 1st question was "why not ighalo?" none of the attackers have hold up play or a good focal point.
And we gave them the chance to pull away due to a poor start. But yeh, we are only back in it because Leicester are poor, not because United have been good...We only managed to close the gap on Leicester because they had the most spectacular, almost unimaginable, meltdown. Leicester are basically handing us the 4th place on a platter and we're about to gracefully decline it because the manager needs to win some kind of silverware to prove he's not a loser.
I've already stated my reasons why this is incorrect in one of the many tiredness excuse build up threads.Of course it is!
tiredness creates concentration issues and enhances individual errors. All 3 of those goals came from poor individual errors. 2 of them down williams side who hasn’t been training recently either.
whether you accept it or not our legs have gone and it shows.
I play for two teams, I train three times a week and play two games a week.I bet you never played full game of football today and played again two days after.
We couldn't handle Chelsea's press because of tiredness. We couldn't press like that ourselves because of tiredness. Saying we should have played a full team of reserves, fair. Saying the whole team is terrible and Ole is clueless, ridiculous.I've already stated my reasons why this is incorrect in one of the many tiredness excuse build up threads.
Simple case is we couldn't handle Chelsea's press. Nowt to do with tiredness at all.
I bet you never played full game of football today and played again two days after.
