I wouldnt mind. Im desperate for top 4 and wont risk my mental health on winning it through europa.
You just know Vardy would score a 96th minute winner in this scenario. Edit: though it wouldn’t actually matter would it..

    De Gea

AWB - Lindelöf - Maguire - Williams (hopefully Shaw. please be fit Shaw, you're so important)

    Matic

    Pogba Fernandes

    Rashford Martial Greenwood.

You go with your strongest 11. Every single other bench option is inferior to these players. Who exactly is going to replace anyone of them in the linup?

It was nice to see Evra roasting Pogba last night, considering they are very good friends, that probably puts the threshold a bit higher for Patrice.

We're not really letting a lot of goals in on open play, rather by massive, massive personal mistakes. The last open play goal we conceded that was a result of the opposition doing well was the 2-2 equalizer by southhampton, and even that was questionable by Lindelöf.

It's been a season of goals conceded right after a "well this only happens once a decade" type mistakes.

Maguire getting nutmegged and De Gea giving away his post at the same play
Shaw getting injured, Williams immediately getting injured - Southampton equalizing 10v11 few minuts after
Pogba, the best player on the team, performing the worst hand ball of the season
Williams giving the ball away for no reason whatsoever and De Gea performing one of the worst save attempts of the season.

And that's just the last few games.

I still think we'll pull this one through. Shaw being injured has exposed a fairly severe issue with our wingback depth. Williams is a good, good talent but not quite entirely reliable yet. He only broke out this year so not exactly unexpected.

Leicester will be playing for their CL spot. United will be playing for their CL spot but we only need a draw. Wolves are gunning for Europa League and will absolutely go full tilt at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea allow a LOT of goals, Tjhey have allowed 54 goals this season. Kepa is a huge questionmark. 54 goals ranks 14th in the Prem. That game will go either way.

If Chelsea lose, we are through no matter the result unless we lose with more than 17 goals or something like that. In which case everyone needs to be fired.
If we draw, we are through no matter the result.

If we lose and Chelsea draw or win and we manage to lose, we have to win the Europa League.

    I prefer a 4-0 win.

I expect they'll set up with a back 4 and drop Bennett for Ihenacho.

That means our front 3 will be up against Justin - Morgan - Evans - Thomas

We need to control the midfield and get the ball to our front 3 as quickly as possible and we could run that defence ragged.

    I'd go with

    DDG
AWB-Maguire-Lindelof- Williams (Assuming Shaw isn't fit)
    Fred - Pogba
    Bruno
    Greenwood - Martial - Rashford

Bring Matic on midway through the second half if we're winning to control it and see it out

Honestly, last night, I felt so negative about our failure to beat West Ham I was sure we would f-k it up against Leicester. However, I have to believe that this group of players has enough about them to not get beat on Sunday.

Leicester won't have anything to lose. So from the very first minute the kitchen sink is going to be thrown at us. If we are resolute, if we defend well and break with speed, we can score and if we score I think we will at least get a draw.

You are asking for trouble if you want to play this team. There legs have gone.
Ole needs to make at least 3 changes. Maybe even 4.
    Problem is who
    Fred
    Mctomminy
    Lingard
    James
    Igaolo
    Mata

They are the options. Fresh legs at this stage over comes tired quality players.
This is arguably the biggest game for the club since the 2017 EL final, lose to Leicester the deal with Adidas gets slashed.
Big questions will be asked if Ole drops any of the big 5 and we don’t get a result.
Don’t get top 4 and don’t win the EL and we’ve seen what happened to Moyes, LVG & Jose when you fail to get the club CL football.

No matter what Ole don't start Pogba deeper please. This is the game where we need Mctominay who is a big game player. He would give us that defensive solidity. Playing Pogba who is tiring out deep against Leceister in the last game that would decide champions league qualification is asking for trouble. He would comit fouls, get bypassed easily and give the ball away in dangerous positions. This is where we need Mctominay's intensity, defensive contribution and pashun. Push Pogba forward where he can cause problems. Leceister's defense is also begging to be penetrated by MMM so don't rest an
    My lineup:

    Rashford Martial Greenwood
    Pogba
    Matic Mctominay
    Williams Maguire Lindelof Awb

The only confidence i have is that it's Rashford-Martial-Greenwood against Wes Morgan. As long as we can isolate Vardy into a nothing game we should have the players to rip their defence apart.

If we let the pressure come, vardy will score, then the panic is real. Another good thing is that we seem to respond with quick goals. Even the draws have seen really good responses from conceding. If we try to get a point from this game instead of just hammering their back 3, ill freaking lose it

I honestly think the season should be canceled now due to coronavirus. We don't want the footballers etc being unsafe and catching coronavirus. Reckon it's better for everybody.

I think we'll stumble our way to a draw, playing absolutely shite, getting top four with the lowest points total ever, summing up how crap this season has been yet somehow also not that crap compared to the five seasons before it even though technically it has been worse than a few of them but I guess, y'know, Ole's at the wheel and.. eh.. we got rid of some dickheads and there's some good young players here and stuff.

The positives are that Leicester need to win so have to play football against us which is the situation that gets the best out of our players.

Negatives are the amount of rest that their players will have had compared to ours.

There's an extra days rest for our players compared to the West Ham game at least.

Remember that for every hour Leicester gets more rest than us, you need to subtract one hour rest for us.
It's a shame they don't have the away goal rule from CL. All away goals count as double.

How do we expect the game to play out?

Both teams like a counter.. Leicester will need the win more..

Do we sit back and play it like we are 1-0 up in a two-legged tie?
Do Leicester go for it from the start or sit back and keep parity till 60 mins and see whats happening in the Chelsea match.. If we are 0-0 with leicester needing a goal in the last 20 minutes, it would be nervy.. we arent the greatest at shutting shop..

Victories at home to Southampton and West Ham would have made this game irrelevant.

Obviously you're joking, but with the injuries Leicester have, that would literally be the worst possible thing that could happen to us, is for this game to get delayed.

Leicester are 2/1 to win the game and we're 3/1 to not finish in the top 4.

For all those who are certain we're not going to do it, go and treble or quadruple your money.

Yep. And victories for Leicester against Bournemouth, Brighton and Watford would've made it irrelevant too...

    We can do this forever.

Chelsea won't lose both the games so they are safe thanks to us.
Is there an unwritten rule somewhere that states that Chelsea can't lose two games?

It's Liverpool and Wolves ... Anyone can lose to those two

I thought Soyunco's suspension was over now. So surely it'll be him and Evans?

They are struggling too and will be without some big players in Maddison, Chilwell, Soyuncu, Pereira, Albrighton is a maybe for return. So we should beat them.

However last game was a shocker, first touch was non-existent, sloppy passes, hesitancy when playing out from the back which Vardy, Barnes and Perez can exploit. Good news is that Fernandes, Martial, Greenwood still showing signs of form. Others are showing clear signs of fatigue but we'll start with the same XI, hoping they have it in them to see it through.

I was joking obviously. But jokingly if the season got canceled and if it was league standing as it is now we would get champions league football since we are 3rd   I am just not confident to say that Manchester United can get a draw or a win against leceister

Best case scenario would be Chelsea losing by 2 or 3 goals against Wolves so that we have little pressure. Feck City, wish they were banned.

    Losing to Comeback Winning!
Just came on here to see if there was any positivity whatsoever. Had to scroll through 6/7 pages before finding one.

Ridiculous levels of pessimism over a game we are quite capable of winning quite comfortably. Leicester are worse than we are yet some on here are acting like we're in relegation form.
Many also say that for the recent West Ham and Southampton games.
Two teams more worse than Leicester.

    Comfortable? hardly, not even close.

It might sound mental given what's at stake but should we consider resting Rashford or Pogba who have both been awful recently, maybe it would give us stronger options on the bench if we need to change something. We keep throwing Ighalo on and that's about it at the minute when it comes to altering a game that's running away from us.

I would shake up the line up. This team is too complacent, they know our subs are not good enough to displace them. I would like to see James start as i feel there will be more space as Leicester like to play football and need to win, the counter attack will suit us perfectly. Greenwood is undroppable right now so I would bench Rashford. I would also bench Bruno with a view to bringing him on in the second half and early. He has been overplayed, looks tired and frustrated.

    De gea
    Awb lindeloff maguire shaw/williams
    Fred matic
    Pogba
    Greenwood martial james

I feel this gives us options to change the game if we need to by having rashford bruno and ogalo ready to come on. I also think we will need freds energy, hopefully he can kick off from where he was in Feb.

    Score prediction, 1 - 1.

I echo others' thoughts about bringing in one of McT or Fred into the midfield for this. What was most concerning for me about the West Ham game (and the Palace game, even more so the Soton game) was our inability to stay composed in our own half under pressure. The amount of loose balls and touches was awful, there was a 3-4 minute period in the second half where we lost it in our half 3 times from dawdling at the back before firing a loose pass to their midfield. Leicester are rested and will press us, something we don't cope well with, we need more energy (Fred) or bite (McT) alongside Matic for this. I'd drop one of Pogba or Bruno (probably Pogba and bring him on second half for a spark).

I agree, I think Rashford's doing that trying too hard thing when he starts to lose a bit of form. To be fair I think both need a rest and fatigue's a bit part in their dip in form but they've done great after the re-start consider they were long term absentees.

I would agree for Ighalo's because of his intelligent hold up play. I also think Fred and McTominay behind Fernandes would be good in terms of intensity and protecting the back line. Matic does well in slotting back but the other two I feel are well rested and will run their socks off to win us this thing. There is however little chance that any rotation happens though.

Annoying thing is also Ole's hesitancy and lateness to make changes when things don't work.

I agree with that however Ighalo for James with martial on the left.

Ighalo will occupy there centre halves and martial and greenwood, I think, will destroy them tbh.
