Not a chance we sign a GK with DDG, Romero and Henderson at the club.

Last position we will be looking to be active in

Pretty sure Romero is gone and by most peoples accounts Deano could go back on loan - unless the Sheffield United ramsdale bid means he's coming back. That would only leave us DDG and Grant.

Why is Romero gone? He has another year with a further option, and no links to a transfer

He is a decent keeper, but i don't see the point. He won't come here to play second fiddle or even fight it out with Henderson and De Gea. He starts for Napoli.

If we would sell De Gea however (which won't happen this summer anyway), it would make more sense to have someone competing with Henderson potentially.

I think Romero is off too, Solskjaer has been very non committal about him recently.

I'm pretty sure after the FA cup snub and also he is linked to Leeds. He deserves a go at no 1. Somewhere and I don't think it will be here.

I think FA cup snub would have been a tough one on him and with Leeds interested, I think he'll want to be a no 1 somewhere.

So we have a promising young keeper but we will let him go on loan so we could buy another promising young keeper to compete with DDG and afterwards compete with the other promising keeper and the 3rd promising keeper we are bound to buy during the winter season? Makes sense

I don't want him as a number 1 anyway, i don't think he is good enough for that over the course of a longer period. He is a great number 2 and can step up occasionally, but that's about it. If he wants to move on, then good luck to him. he has been a very good squad player.

Agree with all of that. I just think he wasn't treated right for that FA cup, unless ole was unhappy about the Cantwell goal, but shows De Gea is capable of far worse.

He'll be a good keeper for a mid table side, but about as far as it goes for him IMO.

How is Meret in terms of Command of area, playing with his feet, ball distribution?

I'm not a fan. He's always come across as a pretty weak goalkeeper to me.

Did Ole said something?

Despite picking him in the recent game.
He said after the match that Romero may not play in any further matches. I think he's played the majority up until now in the Europa League and he's not entitled to play but it would be harsh to swap to De Gea now.

I haven't seen him much at all but he seems weak as far as commanding the box and distribution goes. He also seems similar to De Gea as far as being reluctant to come of his line. I hope we stay away because replacing one limited keeper with another would be counter productive.

I'd say he's one of many keepers we're scouting in the eventuality that Henderson doesn't live up to expectations.

Not convinced by him. I'd rather give Dean a shot, and if he doesn't live up to expectations, we have some promising keepers coming up the ranks that may be ready to challenge after a couple years out on loan.

He's the classic 3rd keeper. Old, played at the top level and counts as home grown.
Just play a youngster in that 1 (max 2) games in a season where you need 3rd goalkeeper. No need to pay a salary to a weak veteran in this position - he is useless.

I think they're happy with that position though. A youngster actually wants to play and needs to, in order to develop. Stuart Taylor made a hell of a living doing it if I remember.

Very confused with the Henderson situation now seeing this. Not sure why you’d be looking for a new keeper.

Ok, but we now have 4 GKs. Joel Pereira as well - let’s sell at least him then, if Grant is so valuable

Monitoring is a big word. We're not gonna bring in an Italian goalkeeper who's not Dommarumma. Not a chance.
If he doesn't communicate in English, less than zero chances.

Please, that guy has no excuse being at our club tbh. Genuinely think grant is better as well.

Makes me laugh how worked up people get over Grant. He's the ideal option for a third choice goalkeeper.

This link makes 0 sense, even if Romero is sold and Henderson goes back out on loan surely we would go after another ageing keeper who will be happy to be back up rather than a younger keeper who is first choice. Doubt he would agree to sit on the bench for the next 10 years behind DDG and then Henderson.
