Why not, they made us look pretty stupid right. So he has a a 3 year contract. If they sell him they will get 120m bags, if they keep him, they keep a good player.
How did they make us look stupid? Did I miss the Sancho signing celebration shirts we prematurely handed out?

I actually respect Dortmund here. Pay us 120 Mill before training camp or we wont sell. Training camp starts and they say hes here for the season.

Ball was always in our court seemingly.
Homer, you have the worst screen name I've ever heard

Seems like posturing from both sides and I think all this gamesmanship is going to end the way it usually does with us in the Woody era, which is we get caught up in a press-driven back-and-forth where we drag our feet trying to save a few pennies and then in the end find out we paid essentially the asking price. Sometimes those negotiations are successful in getting us a better payment plan (which should be counted as more of a "win" in the media) but I feel it principally means us wasting time to bed in signings early. Also I think Woody has shown himself to be obsessed with the idea of maximizing the footballing world's attention. Not sure announcing a massive club record signing before the season is officially done fits that strategy so it wouldn't surprise me to see things move quickly once the EL is finished for us.

If we put up close to Dortmund's asking price in October, I can't see them turning it down. So if we think he's worth that, do it sooner than later or just sign someone else instead of wasting the time in this shortened offseason.

I'm not faulting the stance they've taken on Sancho. They don't wish to sell their prized asset, that's fine, but is it necessary to rub our noses in it at every given opportunity? You don't see out PR shitting out cringey tweets every five minutes. It's just odd.

Not to mention they'll look pretty stupid should Sancho end up at United before the window shuts.

After the Sanchez fiasco, I don't see United entering into any stupid deals like that again. At least while Ole is here. He doesn't seem like someone who enjoys spending stupid money anyway. It is not clever to pay 120 million on potential because that is what Sancho is. Anyone thinking he is a finished article is not being honest with themselves. United must not be rinsed, if I was Woodward, I would pull out and in January pay the release clause for Haaland. 1 year after that bid for Sancho.
What when he costs even more and there’s no guarantee we will improve on last season without some serious talent. If we don’t get him this window we won’t get him at all.

All the other european giants will be in with a shout and realistically currently we are not the stand out club.

Comparing the Sanchez deal to Sancho is quite ridiculous and off base.

One was almost 30 and already starting to look past it at his former club before joining on wage structure destroying wages while the other just had one of the most productive attacking seasons in Europe (20G + 20A) as a 20 year old...

Elite young talent have cost a premium for a while now and that's not going to be changing anytime soon

The only thing they have in common is their surnames containing the same first 5 letters

No, not if you are familiar with how Borussia Dortmund structures its pre season camp at Bad Ragaz (it is I believe their 11th or 12th time there).

The first day of the camp contains a rather in depth press meeting. This meeting, which is largely about an outlook of the pre season, informations about personell, sometimes a bit about transfers and so, is one of the few pressers in the seasons not primarily held by the coach but by DoF Zorc. It was here when Zorc made his statements about Sancho yesterday.

The second day starts with a rather light training session followed by a long string of player interviews. There are interviews throughout the entire camp but the concentration of interviews is the highest on that day leading it to be dubbed "media day" amongst staff and supporters. The large amount statements about Sancho that the English press picked are a result of sheduling that has been consistent for more than a decade.

Funnily enough, none of these statements made much waves in the reporting of German sport outlets, probably because all these answers were completely predictable. The biggest story from those in Germany is the massive praise Erling Haaland heaped on Dortmunds own 15 year old mega talent Moukoko, who will start training with the first squad fulltime now and fully join the squad as player in November when he turns 16 and will be allowed to play in the Bundesliga.
How many of those are on borussia official Twitter ?

How does wanting to buy a player make United look stupid? United are attempting to negotiate a deal with 3rd parties (for some reason - don't Dortmund have people within their ranks capable of negotiating a transfer deal?) whilst leaks galore occur through the German press. In truth, United had said absolutely nothing about this deal until this week (assuming Simon Stone and the like have been told by United that they don't consider it dead), and are simply working away in the background. Whilst people on here lose their shit, or have their remarkably fragile egos bruised by Dortmund fans on a WUM. Hence why some of you are so worried about United 'looking stupid' for wanting the best possible deal they can get for a player. Two weeks into the fecking window...

One team is doing some training camp in Switzerland. The other team going into a Europa semi final. We are not the same Jadon.
Europa league isn’t anything to be gloating about though. We are Manchester United. I wouldn’t be shocked to see Borussia Dortmund excited about playing in the Europa League but we are Man United,we are better than that!

It's been two(?) pictures of Sancho, neither with any reference to United.

I’m starting to get the feeling that it isn’t happening this window but he will eventually be a United player. Well get him in January or next summer for a more reasonable fee.

Hope I’m wrong and it gets done soon. But it seems that we want him, he wants us, and Dortmund are being stingy over the fee. Only way to combat that is to wait...

We ought to call out Sancho. Woody should ask him to put a transer request in if hes serious about coming to Utd. If he doesnt then we have to doubt what his intentions were in the first place. Does he want to play for Utd, or any premier team in the vicinity of Manchester, as all I have seen in the media is he wants to return to Manchester. Lets see how badly he wants Utd.

I am 100% certain they are just trying to raise the price and we are still in negotiations. This is far from over. I am also certain that they won't sell if we don't give them the kind of offer they are comfortable with. They have no pressure to sell Sancho right now.

It is simple. If United pay the price they will get him. I have no doubt about that. Zorc will say that Jadon desperately wanted to go back to England and pushed for the move.

Exactly, Romano also confirmed that there are still negotiations at this moment. Pay the price and he will come.

They definitely have some weird inferiority complex.
They are doing the 'fake it till you make it' thing. Faking to be a big club until they make it. They wont though as theyre nothing more than a selling club that has a good couple runs finishing 2nd in their 2 horse race league.

Ultimately if their social media can even subtly make fun of united it will get tons of likes and attention, basically using uniteds name to look like a big club, and to be honest it’s fair enough.

All these tweets from Dortmund and Dortmund players are getting silly now, it's like they are bragging about Sancho staying and they are rubbing our faces in it !

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
Interesting..
The more I read the more I think this Zorc guy is a bit of a clown. Insisting we use his agents but pay for the privilege, revealing “secret” extensions to the media like a magician, unrealistic deadlines that we’re told about in the press, his constant “they won’t be sold” before selling players and now the gloating tweets/he’s staying player interviews. Total circus.

Dortmund are cringe cnuts, hope they get relegated.

When did they last produce a youngster? They just turn players heads with high wage offers and fcuk over the clubs that have developed them then demand a fortune for the player when he inevitably wants a move as they're a stepping stone club who rarely win anything.

It's all well and good when they are poaching but god for forbid Manchester United dare to bid 90 million quid for the player you poached for next to nothing.

Cnuts!

This is such a ridiculous thing to get upset about. The seller has no obligation to ever sell for a price they don't seem reasonable, ever, with anything.
