Just seems odd to come out and say you definitely mean it if there’s still a chance of him leaving
SAF said that he wouldn't sell a virus to Madrid, before selling Ronaldo for a record fee. Owner/manager talk BS about transfer. It happens.

How is this a newsworthy quote - not bashing the poster by the way. But yeah, logic would dictate that if you pay the ASKING price, you get what you ASK for.
Well it’s because of Dortmund’s insistence that a deadline has passed. It’s ‘newsworthy’ because it gives United fans hope and therefore provides more clicks.

Not by Zorc's comments it doesn't. Go over to a Dortmund forum and you'll find their entire fan base thinking its case closed regardless of what happens now.

Parallel to this forum i watch the Dortmund version of the RedCafe sometimes. They are fuming about us. They say we are absolutely arrogant and think we can get what we want. But furthermore some of them aren‘t even aware of that Jadon has extended his contract in 2019 and not this year. And every positiv word who comes out of Jadon‘s mouth mean that he is so happy and definitely wants to stay.

Say he stays at Dortmund for another year, it will give us a chance to see if he can perform at a top level consistently but if he does then Dortmund will probably want more then what there asking for now right?..
Not necessarily, but it certainly won’t be a bargain deal like we thought now that we know it will not be his last year. We need to do this deal now.

Seems as if Dortmund's approach is working. The fans won't blame them if Sancho goes, it'll end up being about him being greedy or something.

I think the media are trying to reaffirm that Dortmunds public comments are from the actual reality of the situation. So when watze and Zork come out saying nothing to see here, shops locked, they feel the need to report what actually is happening. Ie nothing has changed

Whatever happened to Di Marzio? Romano seems to have taken his spot in the hearts of the muppets, i never see a single quote from him anymore.
Romano is his main correspondent for English transfer news and English-language news reports (formerly David Amoyal). Romano has his connections in England whilst di Marzio himself focuses more on Italy.

I agree. We’re back where we belong - in the Champions League. If we win EL we also get some nice prize money plus gets into seed 1 in CL next season (which is a huge bonus tbf)

Re. Sancho he didn’t say ”I will play for Dortmund next season” and United briefs are that negotiations still ungoing. So this transfer is still very on.

I think we will have to wait until september but my feeling is that Sancho’s coming home this window.
100 percent! Cant wait for Sunday now. And forgot about seeding for CL that's true.

Regarding Sancho : I am still hitting that refresh button but its not as frequent today, ill be honest my gut feeling is that its not going to happen. Just reading what this Romano fella has said earlier about he expects us to pull out soon if we dont have any joy. I was really gutted a couple of days ago,but now I'm starting to think if he doesn't want to come here then so be it. I hope he does and I hope we can make statement in doing so but we will always survive its in our spirit and there is always someone else to add to our artillery

Exactly, so tedious. We'll either pay it, or we won't. Not worth getting worked up over.
It's a huge deal to be structured to begin with it has to be examined a lot during a minimum time. the fact that we haven't put in a bid yet mean we're taking it very seriously and cautiously. considering all options with the well of completion as the player already agreed terms with the the club and their is no crazed fat alpha chair thrower interfering with things or twins. I'm looking at you Paul!

This is just poker until October. I hope it is settled before our first game to give him time to settle (although, I'm fine with bringing him in slowly, as our front 3 is quite good). But, as of now, it seems either pay what they want or walk away. Until we make a on Dembele or make another big move, the budget is there. Wish it moved along faster, but this is just testing our patience.

All Sancho has to do if he wants to really come to utd is put a transfer request in . if this doesn't happen then I can't see this coming off. Woody/Glazers doesn't want to pay the price and Dortmund don't need to sell.

Was listening to a podcast from the athletic this week and they said United want to come out of this window with a net spend of £50m so I would guess getting the Sancho deal right means we may have buyers for some of our players we’re looking to shift if we do bring him in

That’s my point, if he’s staying then why hasn’t he done it?
You'd have to assume he wants the move to United. It's the only logical explanation, no?

Also, I'd bet my right arm Zorc has asked him to make a statement declaring his allegiance to Dortmund, yet he refuses to do so. Perhaps all is not quite as rosy in the Dortmund camp is their chairman would have us believe.

How the feck this means that this is so on?

This is muppetry of the highest order.
Its the second United mouthpiece in a couple of days to say that while United are trying to get the price down, they must be prepared to pay the full price, and now for another reason then what Simon Stone said.

They are doing a PR campaign for Woodward explaining why he cant get the price reduced and therfore have to pay the full price, but he at least tried.

Ofcourse it still looks bad because he could have just paid it on day one, but thats just because Dortmund needs to get an replacement.

That means getting rid of Mata, Smalling, Dalot, Pereira, and Rojo. How much is that? 35m? Almost impossible unless we sell Henderson which is something I don't want United to do. Although of course, I'm not counting wages in this.

They wouldn’t want to show their hand at this point if that was going on. If they do genuinely want to keep him and this isn’t a ploy to try and extract the money they want, I bet they desperate was it the be October now

I think Smalling was £15m with £2n add ons. Lingard will probably be around £20m, Rojo around £7m. Jones around £5m and Dalot around £25m. Wages saved on that lot would be huge and maybe restructuring the wage budget would give us more spending?

Our club is briefing journos and acting more positive than a huge chunk of posters on here. It's like people are trying to find any reason to ask for the thread to be shut, move to another thread, or act like we should take anything Dortmund say as gospel. How many bloody times do people post the same quotes to show just how big of liars (even in public statements) Dortmund are. Their statements mean nothing. It's all about MUFC coughing up more money.

Our club and Woodward are bigger transfer Muppets for Sancho than a thread dedicated to muppeting Sancho. The deal is only off when we brief it's off.

He retweeted somebody saying its close. How is that any different?

He also tweeted himself that both clubs are confident an agreement will be reached 'soon' and that doesn't look true either.

He's a chancer mate. Not got a clue.
I think Romano does have contacts in some places, but with a lot of big deals its easy to sit on the fence sometimes, so either way you can be right.

Re. Dortmund, I have said it myself and seen others also say the same - Ruhr Nachrichten are generally considered tier 1 for their news. If/When Sancho joins, they'll likely be the ones to break it first i suspect. In Germany anyway
