Why can’t you take that some people don’t rate Sancho as a £100m player? It’s very childish just to think everyone must think like you. I’ve heard this long before the England game too. So it’s not just this game.

And some points being made are pretty sensible actually.

Everyone don’t need to think like you and that shouldn’t be embarrasing at all imo. Accept different opinions and act like an adult. Not like a fecking crybaby.

He’s 20 and had 2 good seasons in Bundesliga for gods sake. Not the real deal just yet, but can be in future for sure.
If people are going to post arguments like “I watched him against Iceland and he’s not worth 100m” then they are just opening themselves up to ridicule.

I’ve seen people posting before the england game too saying Sancho isn’t worth 120m and we shouldn’t waste our money on him. And then later it transpires they admit they’ve hardly watched Sancho. That kind of stupidity deserves a ban.

You don’t tell an estate agent that the house isn’t worth £300k and then admit you’ve never viewed the house. Stupid comments invite ridicule.

You don’t see anyone who’s watched Sancho for the majority of his games and suggest he isn’t worth it. Even rival fans in Bundesliga accept he is well worth it.

No they can’t afford £100 million. It will depend entirely on if Liverpool sell a Mane or Salah Next summer. Each of those would fetch £100 million + which then makes a bid for Sancho very likely.

Could we afford to spend £250 million on Mbappe? No of course we couldn’t. But if we were to sell Pogba for say £120 million and Martial for £80 million the additional outlay then reduces to just £50 million which is m than affordable.

Assuming that we will be the only club in for Sancho next summer is a dangerous game.

I could easily see Chelsea selling the likes of Abraham’s and Pulisic next summer to fund a Sancho bid too.
Dortmund want that money up front, so unless they’re going to get £100m for Mane up front, which they won’t and they won’t get anywhere near £100m either, they won’t be able to afford him. I’m sure they’ll try and find a way make it happen but his wages would also break their wage structure.

I’m not saying we wouldn’t be the only club interested next year, I think others are interested and would try but none have put in the leg work we have and find themselves in a position similar to ours.

The revisionism on Sancho on here is hilarious.

His entire career so far points towards him being worth a hell of a lot.

Better than Felix and Dembele for example. We also haven't had a right winger for fecking years. Sancho locks it down for the foreseeable future.

Also right now our attack is fecked if any of our front 3 get injured.

If we ignore the right side yet another season it's criminal.

Wr arent ignoring it. We have one of the brightest talents in world football playing there atm.
Its this type of mindset that make the likes of Sancho go to Germany in the first place

ok and who comes in then is one of Rashford/Martial or Greenwood pick up an injury? 3 players for 3 forward positions is nowhere near enough. Dan James - shite - Ighalo - nah

Greenwood is well established he can easily displace any of the 3 which is good.

Im just saying its not ignored. Strength in depth is a different matter entirely.
Strengthening the right side is like Strengthening the left or striker at this point. Its not really needed, just a depth issue.

Guys I tell u the truth. Im from Germany and have watched most of the matches of Dortmund.

In his 1st Season Sancho was so immense , I thought he was another De bruyne. He took Defenders for Fun and nutmegged so many players and showed so Many Skills. He was easily a 100m+ player

The Second Season was good statistics wise but his performance were not good at all. He can't take Defenders that easily anymore , surprisely he lost speed and is distracted by his hobbies( Every 3rd day Hair Cut for example). He was in the Bench quite often at Dortmund.

We don't know if it's an Coaching Error or his real Potential. Stay absolutely away when the Price is 100M

Hi Ed, stop trying to trick us

Ighalo goes in January too which means we need a new striker or Greenwood becomes the 2nd striker which again leaves us without a single right sided player. Sancho or another top RW this window is imperative. No excuses.

Bringing Sancho in means Greenwood can drop to the bench, or I actually think Rashford will be the one to miss out. It's better than having to call upon James or Ighalo to come on. We need a RW and CB

Ye agree. Woodward played a blinder right. We didnt replace Lukaku, then we get Ighalo on a loan and extend the loan. Then people wonder why the Utd fans are angry when the club doesnt spend the cash on Sancho when we def have it. Glazers are mugging us off

Let’s hope we will have some actual news today. Last week today was great when VDB was basically confirmed as a United player by the most reputable journos. I wanna relive this feeling again

We are ignoring it....and have done for the best part of 5 years.

Greenwood is a very classy player with a bright future who will get a good number of games with or without Sancho.

To suggest we should consider not going for Sancho because we have Greenwood is utter nonsense, as is suggesting it's similar to the situation he found himself in at City.

We are going to be playing 50 plus games next year. Greenwood can play anywhere along that front line being as 2 footed as he is, but I'd be surprised if his long term future is on the right.

Having a front 4 of Sancho, Rashford, Martial and Greenwood would offer tremendous options and might even mean that if any are out of form or fecking shattered (see our last 6 or 7 games for reference perhaps?) they may just be able to sit it out without us being utterly toothless.

I don't even think it HAS to be Sancho to be honest. It has to be someone who has the ability to cause issues down the right...as when you play with a fullback like AWB you need a genuine presence.

You don't stop bringing in world class players because you happen to have a youngster who plays there. It's borderline mental...and I'm more pro giving young players their shot than most.

You balance it, especially this early on in his career. I'm excited to see how he develops further though I agree. He looks like we genuinely have one of the most exciting talents around.

I think a lot of people are turning a blind eye to the fact that this will be a season with the most games ever played in the shortest amount of time. Also with the shortest pre-season gap and turnaround from season before.

The season will be immediately followed by a Euro 2021. Which is immediately followed by the new season in 2021. Which is immediately followed by a World Cup in 2022. Which is immediately followed by a season in 2022. The players dont get a full summer break until 3 years time!

Having multiple quality options is more critical now than it has ever been. Going into the season with Greenwood, Rashford and Martial as our only quality options is criminal.

Signing Sancho does not mean we are not signing anyone else. It is well reported that Utd are looking to get a centre back regardless of getting Sancho.

It's definitely not Woodward dragging his heels. I don't really know where this narrative is coming from. You don't think he'd love to splash €120m on Sancho and have a big announcement?

He's probably waiting on the Glazers to give the go ahead.
This..

People point the finger at Woodward but the money is controlled by the Glazer's.

Exactly, all they are doing is working out whether they can still take their dividends out after we spend what we need to.

Disgraceful leaching parasites they are. They even look like parasites.

Whoever expect any player who play for England can tear it up always will be disappointed.

I am not disappointed for Sancho because England setup was always graveyard for great players and history repeated itself and it's nothing new.

Agreed, I think Ed Woodward is brilliant honestly, he does his job as he is supposed to, it's easy to point fingers.

We definitely are. Greenwood isn't a right winger and in general the 3 of Martial, Greenwood and Rashford don't compliment each other that well. We need more creatively focused players to round out the attack. Rashfords been taking on more a creative role but thats not his normal game. Sancho coming in would bring the best out of 2 of the other 3, however we decide to pick them. Not only is he desperately needed for depth, for his profile of player, for his quality level to bring us up a few notches, but also for how he compliments the players we have and our structure as a team. He's among the very best creative players in the world while also being able to score 15+ goals a season. Its a no brainer of a signing, even if you have to stretch the finances and sacrifice other signings or spend less in future windows. Now is the chance to sign him, and we simply have to take it. What if we cheaper out on Rooney in 2004? Or Rio Ferdinand back then too? We missed out on Hazard for some stupid agent fee's basically, and I'd guarantee you that absolutely everyone involved in that transfer failure regretted that. Now is our chance with Sancho, and we'll massively regret it if we fail to sign him. Chelsea saw that with Havertz, and decided to pay up to €100m for him. Sancho is a level above that in terms of what he's shown and what his potential, so we really have to go for it.

Havent we a player who could also step up from the reserves who can cover RW or striker? Ideally we need Sancho or a proven RW, but if we can get another Youth for depth as well, someone who can play LC games and minutes at the end of games will greatly benefit the freshness of the first team front line.

We would not only be ignoring the RW but we would also be compromising that world class talent we have plus
1. Playing him in a position that isn`t his and developing him for what he isn`t(a RW) rather than what he is(a ST)
2. Letting yet ANOTHER top talent we had the chance to sign slip through our fingers(Ronaldinho,Aguero, Hazard, Kroos etc) and watching him thrive elsewhere as we`re licking our wounds
3. Having severe lack of depth in attack
4. Overplaying him 50-60 games a season at just 18
If Greenwood is as good as we all know even with Sancho he will dislodge one of Martial/Rashford and its the type of competition a title winning team needs

Although I agree that Woodward gets unneccessary flack at times when he's always shown a desire to spend and spend big. I'd have to disagree that he has done brilliantly throughout his tenure. It all comes down to who makes the decisions and which aspects are under their remit. For example, the recruitment before last summer has been very poor since Fergie retired. If Woodward was involved in that, then the decision making was poor. His desire to spend was admirable but wrongly used.

Although Woodward has always shown aspirations to do big deals (pending glazers approval) and also done brilliant in the commerical aspect of the business, he does need to be held accountable for some incredibly bizarre decisions.
Some of the worst ones being:
- Giving David Moyes a 6 year contract coming into a club at a level he has had absolutely no experience. We only just finished paying Moyes' contract last summer. We had 4 managers while we were still paying Moyes.
- Giving Sanchez the most insane contract and smashing the whole structure which would naturally leave the rest of the squad players feel indifferent. Which led to De Gea demanding crazy wages too.
- Giving Phil Jones a 5 year contract when he had been crocked for the whole of Woodwards tenure so far.

In summary, I agree Woodward gets stick for many things which is not justified. But there is frustration with some of his decisions which have been detrimental to the club.

The closest we to my knowledge have is Chong, who we've loaned out and wasn't impressing when he got a chance.

This isn't true? We paid him 5 million in compensation when we terminated his contract.

Yes I wasnt impressed in the bits I saw of him. Apparently hes scoring in Germany, which makes you wonder how weak is that league overall.

There’s conflicting reports around the arrangement of his termination. But the fact that we even gave him a 6 year contract in the first place was crazy.

https://www.manchestereveningnews.c...vid-moyes-manchester-united-contract-16510168
Its just the timeline. He was paid off at the end of the season we fnished 7th as it was reported there was a stipulation to sack him if he didnt finish top 4. He wouldnt have been able to manage over the last 6 years if we were still paying him over the 6 years. Conflict of interest.

Moyes appointment and length of contract was imposed upon Woodward by SAF and Gill.

Less than a week before the new season kicks off and still no sign of this transfer happening. Disappointing but not unexpected.

Guess we'll have to wait a year.
