Maguire getting arrested, Greenwood getting kicked out of the England squad, AWB going to Dubai.

Is it time tough questions were asked of Ole and his coaching staff?

Think it is more they have been shut away for so long, this is what happens when you let a load of young men loose. It is down to them how they behave and they then take the consequences when they mess up. It then depends if they learn or not. It is happening with a lot of the clubs, here and abroad.

We all love United
Maguire's wasn’t his fault

AWB was an idiot. The club should be fining him six weeks wages for not following club orders

Greenwood was kicked out of the squad?!

To be honest I think them bringing women back to room between their debut internationals is really bad form, especially with covid rules and cloud of maguire hanging on squad. Really unprofessional and pisses all over the media face of acting how much it means to them

Shock horror, young, fit, rich young men like taking girls/men/transgender people (let’s keep it PC) back to their room to give their hand a rest!

The most ridiculous thing about all this is Rashford has forced the government into feeding starving kids, Lindelöf saved on old woman from a thief and still it’s been an awful summer PR wise for us

Maguire got done by bent coopers and greenwood is 18 yr old single lad.
He might be an 18 year old lad but if he behaves like a stupid one it's going to seriously affect his career. There's plenty of 18 year old footballers who wouldn't be unprofessional or dumb enough to bring random girls back to a hotel room on their first international call up, during a world pandemic.

Bissaka has no excuse. Maguire might have been unlucky but his story of what happened doesn't make much more sense than the police version of events, so you have to suspect there was a degree of stupidity involved.

If we want to be a bunch of mid table jokers who have to sack the manager every 2 years just to keep the asylum under control it's fine. If we're actually serious about wanting to challenge for major trophies then stuff like this shouldn't be happening, because the players shouldn't be prioritising random childish shite over their profession/ambitions.

Worth comparing to Jos Buttler who, despite not having been out of the UK in the last 10 weeks to play cricket, has not been able to see his wife and daughter since late July to comply with the protocols set up around the England cricket team. Ole's still got a long, long way to go in terms of this cultural reset. We've got individuals who earn ridiculous packets and still expect to be able to live like any 18-30-year-old.

Exactly, we need Jos Butler in the squad

People are acting like being 18 is like being 12... at 18 you do have some semblance of maturity/responsibility, and you can follow pretty basic rules.

Are Man City our of control? Clearly Foden plays for them and Walker also had an incident earlier in the summer.

Not ideal. But no need to blow things up out of proportion.

If you're a professional footballer who's paid thousands a week you also have a duty to act professionally. It was also his first international call up so a massive point in his career which you would think he might actually manage to focus on over boning some random girl.

I mean I'm sure I was an idiot at 18, but I'm also sure that I didn't turn up for my first week of work at a new job when it was important to make a good impression, and act like some indisciplined bellend.

Why the feck is it Ole's fault that a teenager tried to have sex in Iceland while on England duty?

Blame the much vaunted England manager if you need to blame someone not named Greenwood

Aye that’s what people aren’t quite getting. I couldn’t give a shit who he shags or who he cheats on. That’s isn’t the issue. The fact he’s been called up to an international squad at 18 and seemingly thought the rules don’t apply to him is a huge warning sign to me. The entitlement level to think he can do that is very worrying.

I'd say the question is "Is it time the players were asked some tough questions by Ole and the coaching staff?"

How they deal with these will be very important in shaping the squad mentality.

Also, not sure if it means anything, but all three players are in their first season with the first team. Could be that they don't fully appreciate the responsibilities of being at a top club and playing at this level.

This sort of unprofessional behavior should be addressed and nipped in the bud. It's unacceptable no matter how talented a player is.

This. I'm not condoning their actions but this kind of thing should be expected

I personally think that with regards to Maguire, you could go as far as to say Ole is a direct accomplice. At the end of the day, its on Ole to mould these players into top characters and after only a year he has managed Maguire so poorly that he's gone and assaulted police officers.

As for Greenwood, that can only be the result of the culture going on at his club. If Greenwood is confident and brash enough to bring a girl to his hotel room on his first ever England call-up, then imagine what Ole is letting the more established players do? I'm uneasy just thinking about it.

Personally, I think Ole has to go. His nice-guy attitude has taken us as far as we can go and he needs to be replaced with someone who can put manners into this squad.

Greenwood is starting to think he is better than he actually is isn’t he?

The early shoots of big headedness is starting to appear. Nip it in the bud. Ole should absolutely go mental and bollock him.

I'm not sure those laughing off Greenwood's actions have really thought this through. Whether or not posters here agree with the rules that are in place due to Covid, they are there for a reason. It won't take much to completely feck up next season (not only for United), and the fact that half our squad and those playing for other teams seem to have scant regard for the potential consequences of their actions shouldn't be just laughed away.

Greenwood is a fecking idiot, 18 or not.

HELLO
All the other managers should be publicly shaming Ole. They could potentially lose players from his recklessness and failure to keep his players in line. Carrick too, doesnt seem like the type to instill fear, imo get rid and get Keane(well behaved in hotels) in.
