We have just come off a season where Liverpool won the league and we have done next to nothing to mitigate it.

Embarrassing 20-20 next season

Yeah that is very much down to Woody & Judge, god they sound like a comedy double act don't they
Yeah. I have always said we reward young players with too much too soon. Half of them land in the first team due to need rather than outstanding talent, yet then get contracts on the same money as top experienced players at other clubs. We take the ambition out of them.

Predictably terrible window that promised much (as always) and didn’t deliver. the only reason we moved quickly on VDB is because spurs showed concrete interest and VDS being there was always going to be a major advantage to us. They’ve taken Reguilon by the looks of things. Telles to wolves is the word on the street. Great.

We are definitely the most depressing big club in Europe to follow in recent years. Ok we can’t fully compete financially with city and Chelsea every summer and Liverpool have built well. Fine, no problem but what plan are we developing to give us an edge back? Are we thinking outside the box at all? Are we feck! That’s the saddest part. Chasing big signings that rarely come off and signing past it superstars cynically coming in for one last mega contract. We are looking at Bale yet again for about the 4th summer since 2013. Disgusting really that in that whole time we haven’t found one other RW in the whole world who could potentially come in and make the position their own so we go back to a past it player who didn’t want to come here in his prime. Sterling work. They’ll probably sign him on Giggs recommendation too.

What are you lot on about? We've got one player each from Real, Barca, Atleti and City just in the last month.
Does that not explain why Woodward and the boys are relaxed this transfer window? :wenger:
On an unrelated note, how do you guys feel about counting all the u-18 trophies we'll win by May 2021?

I just don’t get how we always manage to drag things out to the very last minute. What’s so hard about identifying targets early, work on an agreement with the clubs before the window opens and be ready to go when the window opens? Why is it made to look so disjointed by United? Every season
It never looked anywhere close to this disjointed in the years before people sucked in every transfer tweet they could find and took it as the gospel truth.

People lose their minds over the transfer window these days. More so than the football itself

I’d say for the first time this window, it feels like we’re done. I don’t think there are any reliable links to indicate that anyone else will be coming in, unless I’m missing something?

True. Cannot blame him if he leaves next summer. There is no ambition shown by our board.
You could say ambition, but really if the CB we signed for 80 million was anywhere close to VVD for Liverpool we probably wouldn't need a new CB for one. We've forked out large sums for 7-8/10 players which is another problem in itself. Would it have also killed us to bring in a PL winger for a bit more, than sign James for 17m. Wouldn't have made Sancho as desperately needed. Bruno is the only player we've signed probably since Martial that I've felt was genuinely worth his fee.

Is this window turning out to be similar to 13-14 summer window. Disaster so far.

This where paying out millions in wages to worthless players really bite you on the bum. Lower wages they might have actually got a bit of money in.
If only we stopped giving players like Jones and Mata such pointless renewals.

I must admit I'm a tad worried now. I didn't think we'd be in this situation so close to the start of the season. What really annoys me is why haven't we gone in for other players? Surely we didn't bank all our hopes on Sancho?

What about a plan b? And come to think of It, Sancho shouldn't have been our only forward target. To go into the season with rashford, martial and greenwood as our only attackers is a recipe for disaster! A shambles of a club and all starts with the pricks at the top. We as United fans have to make some noise now, starting with Woodward!

Yes such a shame that the window closed earlier today.

I’d normally agree but it’s looking glum. The fact we are losing millions per home game at the moment pretty much tells us they aren’t gonna spend

I doubt that. Id be extremely surprised if we dont bring in either Sancho or two other players by the deadline. Feel free to throw this back at me if it doesn't happen

I keep reading that as “pleasantly surprised” and winding myself up

Liking the positivity and it's much needed with many feeling like crumbling and can understand that.

Personally think it won't happen but only a Thiago & Sancho could save this window now, failing that one of them & Upamecano (yes I know what they said)

We will do more business. I think our fans vastly underestimate how often United are used in the gossip media for various reasons. Then we end up looking like we've missed out on a player we probably never had that much interest in. Id much prefer that we go under the radar

I’d prefer we just got it done early and then we’re all relaxed ready to go rather than always waiting for the last minute

I realise I'm in the minority with this, but ultimately what does it matter? Get it done early is probably an advantage, but not so much that we should not be using the delay tactic where necessary. Especially so in this bizarre window with economic mayhem and a very short pre-season.

Watch how many deals get done in the last week of the window, when the bluffing ends and everybody shows their hand.

So most clubs barring maybe Chelsea and Spurs are just going to sit on their hands for the next couple of weeks

This is NOT Football Manager! Some of you really need some reality check how football works and especially in Covid-19 times where there is big insecurity about income.

No idea whatsoever. Situations will present themselves and the club will react to them
Would be CB & RW for me,maybe a LB if an opportunity presents itself that doesn't involve buyback clauses.

Much as I wanted to buy into the Thiago stuff again it's pretty clear that he is waiting for the scousers to firm up interest.

The reality check where half the premier league outspent us this summer?

Yeah you have to remember it doesn't apply to Chelsea due to a combination of recent transfer ban, sugar daddy ownership and big money from Hazard sale as well
