We are run by b(w)ankers, so it's a possibility.Surely the great Manchester United aren't waiting on chump change for Chris Smalling to sign players? You can't believe that...
Yeah I would trust this Norwegian guy Fredrik over McGarry any day of the weekOh,it's Ian McGarry. Dont take this seriously, guys (not that you are.)
Yeah if it’s McGarry then it’s definitely complete bullshit.Oh,it's Ian McGarry. Dont take this seriously, guys (not that you are.)
Micheal? This is a great idea! A fans "venture" fund that will support the buying of certain players. We could do deals with the player's agent independently that would supplement the ManUtd contribution to the transfer fee, the signing-on bonus and the wages. If we can get the governance right - I would suggest a non-profit structure with votes (those who contributed) to decide how the corpus is used - we can get this done before this transfer window. Over time, if the concept grows, the value of the owner's equity will fall and this could start to take our club back from these owners.
It's pretty funny to see how some people react to every tweet like it's gospel. Must be draining.
On the train we only react to the positive ones. You should climb aboard. It's pretty funny to see how some people react to every tweet like it's gospel. Must be draining.
Yeah taking anything we can get after the last couple of days of mainly negative stuffOn the train we only react to the positive ones. You should climb aboard.
My very first sentence defined the context of the post. You can't just skim.Have you missed the part we are brining in loads of youth players from across Europe and even poaching them from Barcelona?
We getting anything else before like a surprise CB or LB completely out of nowhereThis will happen.
Sancho - wants to move to United
Reguilon - wants to stay at RM
Exactly as it stands our plan is to defer this entire summer to next summer. What happens when others come in for these players? What happens if we don't make top 4 which could easily happen?Reckon his CB is Upamecano but whether we can get him ahead of Bayern next summer is another thing
The second point you make is the bigger worry but then we also don't have a good record when other teams are involved tooExactly as it stands our plan is to defer this entire summer to next summer. What happens when others come in for these players? What happens if we don't make top 4 which could easily happen?
Ole takes the fall and the cycle begins anew...Exactly as it stands our plan is to defer this entire summer to next summer. What happens when others come in for these players? What happens if we don't make top 4 which could easily happen?
Glazernomics“Cheers for leaving it so late in the window that we don’t have time to secure a replacement, oh by the way, here’s a discount”.
Something tells me this is gross incompetence on our negotiation team’s part.
Yeah it's incompetence on a huge scale“Cheers for leaving it so late in the window that we don’t have time to secure a replacement, oh by the way, here’s a discount”.

So basically a summary of many Redcafe poster predictions. This is going right down the wire it seems

He's utter shite, but still....it's on!People saying that McGarry isn’t very reliable
Doesn't look likely at all.We getting anything else before like a surprise CB or LB completely out of nowhere
Exactly. Why would Dortmund do that? They'd have a week to find a replacement.
Or gross negligence from Dortmund. It will be their fault for dragging this out so long. Despite all their public statements, BVB also desperately want to sell this window, to minimise their own risk on a huge financial asset. Anyway, Im sure Dortmund have a list of viable replacements and already done all the due diligence required to complete a signing within 48 hours.“Cheers for leaving it so late in the window that we don’t have time to secure a replacement, oh by the way, here’s a discount”.

you've obviously never been a negotiator for £100m assets!Assuming all that is true, I think it is a scandalous approach to negotiations. Imagine intentionally taking negotiations for a player you have pinned your transfer hopes on to the last week of the window. It's like playing poker with the entire season.
I refuse to believe it.
I haven't.you've obviously never been a negotiator for £100m assets!
Exactly this.Ole takes the fall and the cycle begins anew...
Poetic really
Why would they be desperate to sell him? he's one of their top performers and his value won't drop dramatically regardless.Or gross negligence from Dortmund. I know everybody hates Woodward, but try seeing it from his point of view just for one moment. I believe he has true desire to sign Sancho, but also has the clubs financial interests to consider. I applaud him for trying to get this deal over the line, and also think that if it fails, it's because it was financially beyond our means.
Would be funny if it wasn't so painfully true.Ole takes the fall and the cycle begins anew...
Poetic really
Agreed. Doesn't make any sense. Gives us a good excuse to not go for anyone else though. Tried for Sancho till the last minute etc.Assuming all that is true, I think it is a scandalous approach to negotiations. Imagine intentionally taking negotiations for a player you have pinned your transfer hopes on to the last week of the window. It's like playing poker with the entire season.
I refuse to believe it.
Also, you leave the other team no time to get a replacement. It's bollocks.
Apparently McGarry isn’t the one who says the Ikone part. According to this tweet, at least.Take Ian McGarry's reports with grain of salt. When I saw him mention Ikone, I instantly became skeptical; Ikone's agent mentioned a few months back that Dortmund haven't even gotten in touch with him for the player.

It’s basically what we did for Fernandes, wasn’t it? And Maguire? Waited as long as we could to lower the price, before ultimately buying? I think for Maguire we didn’t even lower the fee, whilst for Fernandes we got him for a little less, just a window later.Assuming all that is true, I think it is a scandalous approach to negotiations. Imagine intentionally taking negotiations for a player you have pinned your transfer hopes on to the last week of the window. It's like playing poker with the entire season.

Its madness. Dortmund will want the same amount and structure of payments in the last week of the window as they did at the start of the window. Didnt work with bruno or maguire, we paid what the selling club wanted both times.Apparently McGarry isn’t the one who says the Ikone part. According to this tweet, at least.
