Did any Amazon UK customers get that email about saying they couldn't deliver at launch?

I haven't had anything so hoping I got in early enough. Put the order in at like 9.10am on Thursday morning.

I had an email from Amazon customer service this morning and shit myself thinking they were cancelling my order, but it was just to say they were refunding me £5 for the new Mario game

They dropped it a fiver, so they refunded with their preorder price guarantee. It’s out of stock right now, so surprised they did that,

Yep an enhanced or complete edition or something.

It's a fantastic game so a really good bundle if you've never played it.

Upscaled and I think it's going to include all the raytracing stuff as well so visually it should be markably improved.

So my liar assessment is correct for the time being. if you bought it on PS4, you should get the free upgrade.

Why should you? I can understand the argument if you’re buying games now because we’re so close to the release of next gen consoles, not sure why that a game which was released last year should entitle people to a free upgrade?

Even the greediest company in the world EA are offering a free upgrade with Fifa. So are Ubisoft with both their games coming out this year. If those companies can do it, so can Sony.

Hell, CD project Red are giving a free upgrade to Witcher 3 for people who bought it.

Hi, can anyone advise me of a good TV to get the best out of the PS5. I am not looking at super expensive ones, just an idea what people are using?

I haven't got one either but something that has 4K/120fps and HDMI 2.1 support. The LG OLED range for example.

Yeah but the person working there saying they might not have a PS5 for every single pre order. That it’s not guaranteed. Might have to wait a little bit longer if it’s sold out, First come first serve.

The PS5 measures 390 x 104 x 260mm (width x height x depth), but as Sony notes these figures exclude the largest projection and the base which is included in the box (for those who want to stand the console upright).

You'll want to make sure you have a few mm to spare all the way round to make sure it'll slide in, and to ensure air can get in and around to prevent any overheating issues.

If you're looking for something a little more streamlined, there's always the PS5 Digital Edition, which is an ever-so-slightly more svelte 390 x 92 x 260mm - again, excluding the largest projection and the base.

I think its more FIFA getting a free upgrade than anything else tbh. Thought the same but think its just badly worded.

The pre order thing has gone against me. Just over 2 weeks ago I realised gamestop (ireland) were actually taking pre-preorders of both consoles, so I put 50 off on both thinking I was way ahead of the game. Turns out they’d been taking these down payments since late 2019 so I’m actually way down on the list and after speaking with them today I have no guarantees or a ps5 before Xmas. Although Xbox is sorted which goes to show the popularity gap.

But anyway because I’d already technically preordered I didn’t try on Wednesday night/Thursday morning. I totally realise 1st world problems but bah humbug

You will probably need the PS4 disc in the PS5 to play the digital copy.

I finally did the math and my HMRC overpayment refund will cover the system, the dock and a headset, but not a spare controller. Would have been nice to get a spare controller as my DS4's are constantly running out of battery , but as the Dusalsense is USB C it will charge much faster it shouldn't be an issue.

If I could be sure that I could play my PS4 discs on a digital PS5 I def would have gone for a digital version and saved an extra £100!

It's worded badly, but you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you think you'll suddenly be able to trade in all your physical copies because you've been given a digital edition.

I’ve looked it up and the general consensus seems to be you’ll get the full digital download on the PS5 but you’ll still need to insert the disc as a pseudo key but it won’t read from the disc after that

If players have a PS4™ game on Blu-ray™ Disc, they will need to insert the PS4 game disc to see the upgrade path, download the PS5 version and keep the PS4™ game disc inserted each time they play the PS5™ version of the game. To upgrade eligible PS4 disc titles to digital PS5 versions, players need a PS5™ console with a disc drive.
