Erm.... I've seen him play a few times for his previous club. Nothing stood out to say he will make it at a this club. All I've seen so far from him is giving the ball away nearly every time he gets it, great start. Take the rose tinted ones off, we have better players than him and we are still getting nowhere fast.
I’m sorry but you haven’t seen anything of him if you think he isn’t good enough.

IF no bid has indeed been made, then i do wonder if one has been 'invented' so that when our bid goes in, it'll be accepted and made out like Dortmund have got a much better offer than first reported.
Kind of one of them "Offer was too good to refuse and player wanted to leave" things.

Of course, i could be totally wrong, but it's an option?

Interesting, have Dortmund made up a first initial bid news, to seem strong in anticipation of accepting our real first bid? :smirk:
Like your train of thought.

All about saving face. Savings Zorc’s blushes. Appeasing the Dortmund fans.

This is some serious posturing/ tactics from Dortmund.

My wit's end
Potentially wasted £40 million on Van De Beek (early days, obviously, but I see nothing special so far), and now we cannot afford Jadon Sancho.

You couldn't make this up.... Welcome to the new Manchester United.
You have just made it up.

I'll remind you of my comments in 12 months, Chief...
Why do you need 12 months to make the assessment? He’s been playing for a few years. There’s been plenty of times to see he is a quality player. Arguably good enough to be in our best eleven.

We've bid. We haven't bid.
Everyone's just gambling red or the black at the moment.
Well sky are still maintaining their stance. It’s only some individual journos who are saying it hasn’t happened.

but the Times story plus Sancho being ‘ill’ are big give aways in my opinion.

£91,000,000

That is an eye watering amount of money at any time, let alone in the middle of this uncertain pandemic which has has an enormous impact in the football industry.
While BVB might refuse today, does anyone really think they can maintain that posture til October 6th?

£91,000,000 cheque staring you in the face. Think of all the things you can do with that. Are you really going to say Nein?

£91,347,640.47 to be exact I think. Or €100m. Not sure if that's real though as not everyone is going with the line that there's been a bid.

Absolute car crash post.

You posted this in VDB thread.

By your own admission he hasn’t played much but you’ve seen nothing to make you think he has quality. Erm, that’s cause you’ve not seen him play much.
Can anyone remember when we signed Stam, I believe we paid 10.5 million if memory serves me right. After his first two games the media tore him apart, calling him the Dutch donkey etc.. went on to very quickly prove he was one of the best defenders in the world.
To anyone slagging VDB watch this space, the guy looks like he’s full of energy and passion I’m sure he’ll be amazing.

You may be right.

By taking this so close to the wire, United are trying on all sorts of kidology and psychology.

Other scenario is we submitted a bid to test the waters, got rejected, denied making said bid, will go back soon with another bid that we think will be accepted.
Coupled with the Dembele links to add a bit of pressure, and we can all see where this is going to end up. Hopefully with an accepted bid, but who knows.

Even though this is a done deal, can any of you remember us having an official bid for a player rejected and not eventually signing the player?

We floated a number in the air using our sources. Dortmund have floated a number via their brief..

Basically saying bid more than 80+20.

This is so ON.. They are desperate to sell. we have them where we want them..

Missing a game "ill" sounds too convenient to think this isn't really gathering pace now.

You never do know with us though.

What’s extraordinary is he’s calling him a waste of money based on the little he’s played, but the little he has played he’s been one of our best players. Scoring on his debut. And looking a class above everyone else on the pitch in the Carabao.

Will he have to self isolate when he lands? Is Germany on the covid-19 list?

There’s a million examples. A lot of which have come in the final week of Woodward’s windows. Him and Moyes bid for De Rossi, Baines and Fabregas within days - all rejected.
