We are loosing this match so far because of Harry Maguire. Plain and simple.

The first goal, simple clearance. The second goal clearly out of line to follow Harry Kane into the midfield, and instead of blocking the foul, he went back leaving space for Kane to pick son with a pass. 4th goal, our defense leader, left his position to chase Aurier, then point to Luke Shaw to leave his position covering for Maguire himself, to face the runner, Son simply run in space behind Shaw, 4th goal.

Harry Maguire is a walking disaster today.
Maguire has been all at sea since the Greek incident
We have had chances to sign a CB but chose to chase a galactico signing

Matic is sooo slow but Pogba is just pathetic. He is athletic but doesn't even try. When he lost the ball in midfield and just threw his hands in the air and pouted was disgraceful. Get Maguire and Pogba off asap.
Pogba is actually slow these days. Very slow.
He only looks quick once he gets going but most of football is short sprints and Pogba looks awfully slow. Not only that he also looks useless.

I do think both Pogba and Matic need to be dropped for DVB and Fred.

You just know that instead of the hairdryer the team deserves at half time, they'll get the soft encouraging words of Ole, telling them that they've tried hard and to remain positive.

Reality is the only positive thing about this team is Pogba's coronavirus test.

Thank you for fecking up my birthday lads. Really appreciated. Turned 41 and realized that football is just a game which is supposed to entertain. Thank you SAF for 25+ years of joy, feck you Ed and Glazers.

played off the park by Palace and easily beaten
played off the park by Brighton (no way we deserved any points)
    Thrashing at home by spurs.....

oh well injury prone creaking old Cavanni incoming.

Pogba, Matic, Bruno off. Fred DvB and McTominay on. Midfield has gone under the radar today but it’s been utterly woeful and the root of most of our problems.

One hell of shit show. Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong in that half. The sending off ended any hope of comeback but before it was clear Spurs are a mile ahead in fitness and sharpness at the moment. Worst part is gifting such soft goals to spurs, they haven't had to work too hard for their goals. Have to endure the 2nd half now hard to see pride restored with 10 men.

I don't want to read a single person use the argument, "Red card killed the game", or "we would have had a chance if not for the red."

Let me prefix this by saying, yes, we got screwed by the red card, completely, but don't let that distract you from what is most obvious. We were being absolutely shitted on prior to the red card. They could have been 3-4 up easily. We didn't register a true shot on goal with 11 men. Not one. We lost every 50/50 tackle, our players weren't sprinting for second balls; the only physical effort exerted from the front three was Greenwood and even when we did score early it was another fecking set-piece.

It's a shambles from front to back. The front three don't press, the midfield don't push up when they do on rare occasions and the defence is left to carry the can for a shit load of space when dealing with counter-attacks. Nothing about our performances this season indicates there's any work happening on the coaching ground with any semblance of nuance. The game was going that way even at 2-1 and 11 vs. 11. Don't be fooled. The red changed nothing.

Something has been really wrong with our defence this season. 3 against palace, 2 against Brighton ( which could have been 6) and 4 against spurs now. Our attacking players have been fine for the most part, they make the right passes and runs, but we have found it difficult deal with the counter and defend in total. This did not happen last season. Something is really off defensively. I don't want to believe that our entire backline came back completely unfit. The way the gaps are popping up on the flanks seems systematic. However, the goals we have conceded have come from weak defending and individual errors for the most part. It's concerning.

    Calamity. Nothing else to say.

Our defense is not strong enough to play a midfield of Pogba and Bruno. It should be, but they're not.

We need more industry in midfield. We're simply not good enough to accommodate multiple "luxury" players.
    This ..

    We cannot play Matic/pogba.

Every team will have a bad day every now and then. But, we have looked second best in all of our league games. Every time Palace, Brighton and Spurs went forward, we looked like conceding. That Palace result in the first game was huge as it's potentially set the tone for our early run of games. Our next 4 games are Newcastle away, PSG away, Chelsea at home and Leipzig at home. We're not going to win those simply by turning up, we actually need to graft and, importantly, have a plan. At the moment, we have no plan.

Actually, the defence did not have enough cover from the mid-fielders. Pogba is as usually lazy, Matic doesn't have the legs. Even Rashford do not chase. If they do not chase back then they will be overun.
Wonder why Shaw keeps coming inside when defending. Maguire is not concentrating and is bad. Baily is also bad.

It stings that much more that it's the finished one inflicting this on us. Of all the managers, it just had to be him. I at least hope they don't break any sort of record against us, because you know he will milk it until the day he retires. As it stands now he's already going to milk this.

City’s achievement of having handed us the biggest defeat since PL started, only lasts a mere 45 minutes from now. Feel genuinely sick.

Nothing will change after this game. Manager/players will come out and say not acceptable and need to improve. But we will see similar performances. The players are not good enough and it’s clear the coaching is not improving things.

The guy needs to be dropped. How he got propelled to captain I will never know.

    • Lamala was lucky not to get red. It doesnt matter if you hit a person with your elbow or your hand.
    • Bailley cannot be trusted. One game he is world class, the next he is league two.
    • Shaw cannot defend
    • Maguire is having his worst periode in United.
    • Pogba will not defend.
Funnily enough Shaw's "defending" was why plenty of posters didn't want a new LB.
