That. fecking. Accent. Horrendous.

It does all tie together, and it's okay.

Was every scene with Hannah a dream of hers? I don't get her part. Or she was just a ghost everyone could see and assumed was a live because they didn't know she was dead.

Any excuse to be reminded of this though.

Finished this last night. I did prefer Hill House - but this was still good. Not gonna lie - I did actually cry in the last episode too.

Thought it was pretty good. Really strong emotional ending.

Is there anything worse in the world than American actors trying to do English accents. They all end up like unwatchable parodies of Pride and Prejudice. To be fair I already hate English actors trying to do Victorian English accents so they're in good company but it's made Bly Manor really really hard to enjoy so far.

Not as good as Hill House but still enjoyed it. Contrary to what others have said, episode 8 was my favourite, didn’t think I’d enjoy that one after the first 5 min but found the episode to be wonderfully atmospheric and creepy.

Started this (havent watched the first one yet so nothing to compare to)
However its been ok. A little slow. JUst watched ep5 which has been the best / craziest episode yet.

The kids are good at being creepy. I do feel like a lot has gone on but not much has happened though.

Also  at Uncle Henry being the kid from E.T

That last episode did get me, too.

We finished it yesterday. Overall, I really enjoyed this. Hill House was definitely more tense and had me on edge, but I really enjoyed this story and the characters. What it lacked in scares, it made up for in heart and warmth.

Concur. Finished it the other night too. Was a bit depressing of an end but fitting I guess.

Tbf we think the same about some of the English actors doing American accents. Kinda interesting articles out there that rated the English accents and it seems that aside from the narrator and uncle creepy they thought they were reasonably well done.

It was a mixed bag. For what it's worth, Simon Pegg in the Boys is maybe the worst offender of any actor I've ever seen attempt an accent. I thought the Scottish guys accent was good, ironically, and he seems to get slated. Carla Gugino seemed ok to me but Henry Thomas accent ... he looked like he was chewing on a wasp while talking.

Yeah Pegg's american accent is pretty horrid.
I read Carla had some odd slip-ups where she mixed accents but it was probably a lot more obvious /likely to happen bc she had so many lines.
All I could think of with English guy playing the Scott that if I had his looks and could whip out that accent the ladies would probably be lining up

The second to last ep was weird but served a purpose to explain the history of the house.
Final episode was really good though.

Overall a good season. Could have maybe been an episode less if they wanted, but it was still entertaining to watch.

Just finished this tonight, it probably 3 episodes too long, but overall I feel the payoff in the final episode was worth it. Its quite clear this is not intended to be a horror show in the same vein as Hill House, the entire show is setup about love and loss (for almost every character in it) and the length of the final episode gave you a levity that made the finale all the more impactful, for me anyway. I can forgive all the issues I have with it because I think the final episode was brilliant.

Watching Midnight Mass (New show from the fella behind this and HoHH) and whilst really not much of a horror, it is FAR better then Bly Manor.

Definitely has its faults, again there is pacing issues (some scenes could literally be half as long and would achieve the same goal) but yeah, I'm enjoying it.

Helps that the acting is good too... Definitely has that over Bly.

I liked the Bly Manor as well but yeah Midnight Mass is better for the most part. Definitely one-too-many monologues and didn't quite like the ending/the last episode.
