Liverpool aren’t all that are they? Long ball into Mane, Mane aggressively holds it up and draws a foul/loses the ball.
They weren't all that for a lot of last year, but had enough to often see late wins out.

Worryingly, Villa aside they seem to be doing an even more extreme version of that this season.

That is penalty. Salah is just doing like many footballers does. Little piruett and fall down like he is being run over by a bull.

I wonder if Media will ever bring up amount of penalties given to Liverpool? Or is it just us they like to talk about?

The consensus appears to be it's soft but a pen.
If he doesn't go down, it doesn’t get given.
The refs create the problem.
fecking silly challenge in your own penalty area though! He was heading away from goal. Just shepherd it away from goal

You’ve had about 30 penalties since the start of last season. We’ve had about 6.

Liverpool in a bit of an annoying habit of scoring right before half time this season.

In 5 years time, defenders will have to keep a 1 metre distance from all attackers else invasion of their space will mean an automatic goal conceded. No need for penalties.

Idiotic stuff from Masuaku. Killed all the work Hammers did in the first half. Liverpool cant get an answer for genius formation by Moyes. 6-3-1 damn.

In the meantime, I would not want to be in Kyle Walker's skin. Guy is gonna get ripped by his family for scoring that today

Salah massively diving aside, hate those penalties where players are going away from goal and get clipped. We get plenty of them and they're such a bailout every time. Penalties should be there to penalize defenders fouling players in promising positions and awarding a free goal scoring opportunity in return, not giving the attacking team an 85% chance to score just because someone mistimed a tackle by 1 second on a player doing nothing threatening on the edge of the box. Against the spirit of the rule and it's made football massively boring with a pen being given in more than half the games it feels like. I know it's benefitting us at the moment but a fix to that and the handball rule is massively needed

It's always so frustrating watching the attacker regain balance on the foot that was just kicked only to collapse in a heap on the spot even though they've been putting weight on it already - in that sense similar to the one Mané got against Leicester(?) last season. That said Masuaku has absolutely gifted this game to Liverpool. Back against the goal and with zero momentum and he does that.

Thinking up of my next genius thread
Joe Gomez is having a bit of a stinker season so far. I mean he is a young CB and things like that happen to younger players but still your defense this year seems to commit an extraordinary amount of silly mistakes.
From someone who didnt follow pool much for a couple of seasons, I swear they had some more back up cbs at least last season or before?

We’re missing Matip massively but the rest seem to need VVD to constantly be telling them what to do and inspire confidence. We’re good for a mistake a game ar the minute. Trent was poor allowing the cross in.

Liverpool must be thanking their lucky stars that the Afcon got delayed to 2022. They'd be completely fecked this season elsewise

On second thought how the feck does that work, Afcon in Jan 2022, rest of the season, then WC 2022 in June? Mad that

West Ham have been the better team but Ive no doubt Liverpool will slug their way to a sluggy win.
Very rare them steamroll teams. Reminds me of us in Fergie’s last season.

I wonder do Liverpool fans still get nervous? I wouldn't, if I was them. No matter the pattern of the game there just always seem to be an inevitably about them winning. Be it from, a lucky goal, an own goal, VAR, dodgy pen, or whatever.
