Some of the posters are a disgrace.

Right I understand when we have a bad result all the Ole out are in sticking the boot in and vice versa when we have a good result.

I’ll start by saying I think he isn’t the right manager and feel we should get rid but I was happy with the performance today and delighted with the result yet on my break in work earlier I wasn’t logged in and was reading posts and it seems a lot where upset that we won because Ole kept his job.

Remember at the end of the day players, legends owners etc don’t matter you support the club and want them to do well, yes I know what people where thinking if we lose it might be better long term but I have never wanted United to lose and never will.

Im sorry I had to make a thread but I feel it’s a big problem here. Yes everyone loves Ole and him performing well would see everyone happy and I’m sure everyone wants him as our manager winning trophies.

But you support Manchester United so remember that I can’t believe some weren’t happy with the win(I know it’s a small minority) but still.

It’s pathetic.

wanting your team to lose. Jesus wept.

even if we sacked OGS, the same posters would soon be on the back of the next guy.

These posters want instant success now, and that’s not how football or even life works.

just imagine being a United ‘fan’ and not being happy about today’s game. What a shit life you must be living.

Obviously you didn’t read, I’m the OP and I said I think he isn’t the man to take us forward and feel he should be replaced but thanks for the useless input. I’m just pointing out fans actually wanting us to lose how can you be a Man Utd supporter while doing that ?

For a start, there is nothing new in the OP that you couldn't have mentioned in any of the existing threads. You don't need a new thread everytime to express your feelings when we win.

He is not expressing his feelings over a win. He is trying to point out how toxic the fan base is becoming, on both sides, when people want to express an opinion.

Round and round we go, noone is or will be good enough. Today's flavour of the month will be tomorrow's fall guy. Rinse and repeat.

Wishing your own team to lose is disgusting, no ifs or buts.

A consequence of the failed newbie system in recent years and mods evidently giving up on dealing with the excessive negativity. The United forum has turned into a slightly more moderated version of twitter.

Worst thing is majority of them have never set foot in Old Trafford match going fans haven't and won't turn on Ole, obviously because match going fans can't attend and he doesn't get that same support.

This sounds blasphemous, like a religious sect.

What if those weeping Jesus guys just supported their team different than you?
What if they have seen the statistics and objectively?

It's a well known fact we all hate each other here. I don't think it's anything new worthy of a thread, if you asked me.

that’s a good analogy.

I stay away from Twitter. Certainly don’t look at anything football related.

the forum has gone downhill very quickly over the past few years.

It is indeed, it is also a global problem amongst all forms of social media, doesn't mean it isn't a problem that needs addressing. Also a pretty lame excuse if that is your (not specifically you) reasoning for thinking something happens somewhere else so it's okay for me to do it. That just emphasises the problem and makes you apart of it.

I don’t understand your last sentence. Is it meant to be sarcastic?

clearly these people support the team differently to how I do. I celebrate our wins, and away to Everton is a good result. I don’t want my team to drop points.

Biden won. Let’s all be friends!
Truthfully, the Caf is much more polarized now than when I signed up. There is less discussion but more bashing. There are still many great posters here, but they are drowned out by all the noise.

Also, I think bans for other teams’ supporters should hold a lower threshold.

wanting United to lose though..

I like stats, but now they are used far too much and aggressively when discussing football.

Lose a battle to win the war. Accept a short term defeat in one battle in order to increase the chances of victory in the whole war .
This isn’t a chapter in the Art of War. Wanting United to fail makes me wonder if you care more about your own ego than the team. If Solskjær turns the ship steady and get consistently good results and football is entertaining, would you not support him, or would you be disappointed that you cannot fuel your ego with a told you so?

ok. I agree with that. You see posters going on about a player having .2 of a tackle more than another to player...

Stats are useful, but a lot of pointless stats in football, and I’d rather use my eyes than Excel to appraise a player.

Problem is when people expect other posters to post in a specific way just because they don't agree with it. They have enough reasoning to think we are going backwards and others have enough reasons to believe other way. This is a forum so get used to different opinions and thoughts.

Agree wholeheartedly! Stats can be fun, interesting and even insightful, but it doesn’t paint a full picture.

Post whatever opinion you want to, you are still not hitting the point I am making. This forum has become vile with the amount of members who continually hate on posters for an opinion, saying like a fact people have an agenda and even more so in recent times foul language and name calling. That is not opinion.

Coincidentally so has the club. I think the consensus online will improve if the club does. Its only a natural tendency I still don't see negativity in the manner than many complain aside some bad contributions in match day threads.

My feelings exactly. I'm not interested in how many attempted/failed/completed passes were made by whoever, Fernandez probably failed more passes than anybody today but was still one of the best on the field. Xg makes absolutely no sense to me.

Yes I would obviously, but he has shown no signs of doing that. Ego has got nothing to do with it. No it isn't a chapter in the art of war.
Would you prefer to lose 3 points now in order to get good results more points and entertaining football in the future, or win now and get less wins, less points playing mediocre mid table football till the end of the season.

Your logic works under the condition we do all them things once Ole has gone. There is still a huge risk involved so it isn't as simple as that.

We could hire anyone you want and there is still a chance we end up fighting for top 4 each season still. You have to remember who is appointing coaches if you don't like the previous one(s).

if we played like we did today consistently we’d be ok. It was a good match no?

I know, I was just trying to point out that it might not be "a disgrace" as the OP implied for a supporter to not want to give Ole any more time.

Why would you promote that within our own fanbase though?

Honestly the oppo fan posters on here are a breath of fresh air compared to our own supposed fans. It’s becoming a joke and I bet it certainly looks that way from oppo fans looking in.

Absolutely agree. I wish we went back to the old system. I'd probably never have got promoted beyond the newbies though. I was a lurker for years on the Cafe and would love reading it. Now you have to wade through about a 100 posts to read a decent one.

I agree. The long time posters from other clubs are generally good. The newbies who come and go are a big issue though.

I like debate, and discussion. But it’s all too polarised at the moment. That’s a reflection on how we live in 2020 though, not just football.

The OP has a fair point, I worry whether Ole is the right manager after some of the recent results. I also know we have played some of the most exciting football I have seen in along time under his management.

I have seen and read “united fans“ wanting us to lose today so Ole gets the sack...It’s disgraceful..

Booooooo OLEOUT!!! Doesnt change with the win.

2 years and we still dont have an identity or style. Even if we win the next 4 its still Ole out.
