Fantastic result. Shame not to keep a clean sheet because our defence needs that for its confidence. The subs messed up our rhythm. However, given how packed the schedule is we needed to give the likes of Bruno a rest. We hung on and, eventually, buried it. So you can say Ole's roll of the dice paid off. On to the next one.

Second half we stopped playing but first half was really a fun watch and all goals were fun. First and fourth goal especially were great.

That's CL group pretty much done I believe. Onwards and upwards to the league.
How exactly its done ? If we lose next 2 , won't everyone be on 9 points? At that point, its head to head?

Well...Bruno, VdB, Fred, Cavani and Telles were excellent. Cavani is by far our best striker even at that age (movement, pressing, team play), hope he'll stay injury free.

Can we sign that winger Edin? He just caused us trouble every time he had the ball.

Cavani shows how badly we need a proper number 9 after he leaves. With a 9 we play a lot better and Rashford especially looks better

Awesome first half. Fast attacking play, great pass and move. Bruno on fire, VDB faultless... Enjoyed...
2nd half scrappy and sloppy at times but 5 changes can do that to a team.. Dan James had a great run before the goal and then took his goal well. Will boost him up no end after a good game and goal for wales.

Got to be happy with a 4-1 win in the CL. First half was very good. The whole team looked alert and balanced and some of our passing through the channels very good.

Second half was a bit rubbish. We dropped a gear after HT and couldn't really seem to find a rhythm again after that, but it was great to see James get one at the end.

Player wise, obviously Donny will get most of the plaudits. Such a neat player. Always aware of whats around him and his weight of pass is a delight. We have to find a way of getting him into this team, and I'd like to see him alongside McTominay at some point.

Bruno, Cavani, Donny & Rashford the stand out players. Lindelof had a good half too. 3rd win on the trot. Hopefully some momentum and confidence being built here.

If we lose the next 2, we're pretty much out, unless you expect Basaksehir to beat either Leipzig or PSG.

Cavani is the Uruguayan Andy Carrol.
Wash your mouth. Cavani can actually play football.

As for the game, I really enjoyed it bar 30 minutes in the second half. Good goals and our build up was high quality tonight. Cavani, Telles, VDB, Bruno fantastic tonight.

Chuffed for Dan James, too!

Important win, though it's going to be tough in the next few games, we have given ourselves a good chance of progressing.

Over the course of the game, I felt we were a bit too open, the extremely attacking set up played into our favour in the first half and allowed us to take a big lead. It was to our detriment in the 2nd half until Matic came on to give us our shape back. Wouldn't say there were loads of great displays, Bruno gets MOTM for 2 goals but was also impressed with Van De Beek who was quality in CM, Greenwood looked dangerous off the bench and am happy for James as he has had a difficult year as a United player.

Really concerned about Maguire and Martial. Both utterly weak.

VVB probably MOM.
Bruno has been carrying this team ever since he joined which is another concern.

I thought the Turkish side was really poor in the first 30 minutes. Carling cup poor.

Overall, job done but wouldn't get carried away too much.

Very assured and professional performance for pretty much everybody.

Cavani makes a big difference and VDB has done himself the world of good with that display. Top drawer for him and Fred, VDB, Bruno and Cavani is a top Spine.

Axel did well too and partners Maguire well.

That first half team is definitely our strongest team.

It's very premature to say we're better off with a "proper number 9", whatever that is. We were shite for about 60 minutes in this game, too, after all. (Which is why all the praise for Cavani is a bit over the top. He was OK but that's about it, nothing special).

Exciting first half followed by a severely questionable 2nd (half).

Great run out for Donny and Cavani. I thought Wan Bissaka was very good in he first half, very crisp. Telles great, very effective. Our best attacking football of the season for a period there in the first half. Delighted for James.

A great first half in which we did the business. Patchy second, being kind, but we got the chance to rest players and give James and Mason a goal and an assist respectively.

Highlights for me were Bruno, Telles, Cavani and vdB. In the case of the latter two I hope they give Ole a selection headache going forwards as they showed us that doing the simple stuff well, on a consistent basis, will reap rewards. Cavani's hold up play and movement off the ball were superb all day, while dvB was near faultless in his role of picking the ball up in midfield and progressing it for us as quickly as possible. The opposition were poor and overawed in the first half but that takes nothing away from what those two did for us tonight, given the amount of terrible play we've seen this year against less than exalted opposition.

The defence looked ropey all night, Maguire in particular looked dodgy at times, and the second half we lost our shape and our focus after the subs. However the fourth goal was a nice bonus and I'm more than happy with the night's work.

Thats exactly my point. The group is not done yet.
Yeah it's just you seemed to say that if we lose both games then it will go to head-to-head results - it probably won't.

Technically, it's possible that all four teams finish on 9 points. Wouldn't that be a mindfeck.

Bruno, Rashford, VdB and Telles were all excellent

So can we really only look solid at the back when we have McT and Fred together!? Cos that seems daft

Impressed with Cavani's touch, positioning and especially his work rate. Good to see Van de Beek have a great game and chuffed for James; that was a lovely goal and finish. Lost our way for about 30 minutes and we're still a bit slack at the back, but overall a good night.

Didn’t we see that tonight? I think after that display him abs Fred did enough to start together next match. That was tidy stuff going on in the middle with those two and Bruno.

Good shout. He was really good bringing the ball out of defence. Which isn’t always the case and was important because Maguire looked absolutely fecked and was way below par on the ball. He’s played an insane amount of football for club and country already. This season is so daft.

If we lose next 2 we are in the Europa League since I will assume that Leipzig and PSG both beat the warriors from Istanbul. We must draw in one of the games to go through.

Pleased with win, but I think we saw the true quality of the opposition tonight. A poor Championship team, and what a keeper. They were rubbish.

Hopefully some confidence gained by a few players.
